GoM Second meeting today

The Group of Ministers (GoM) entrusted the task of dividing Andhra Pradesh state will have their second meeting at New Delhi Saturday to take the process to further level. During their first meeting held on 11th the tasks were distributed among the members. The state government, which was asked to send the details of water and power resources and the employees engaged in these operations, may send its report to GoM for taking decisions on how to share them between two states of Andhra and Telangana after bifurcation.   The officers, who prepared the report, have observed that these three issues are very complicated as they were spread between two regions and at the same are very much interlinked. For example the lower Sileru hydel project that supplies power and water for irrigation purposes has spread between Kammam and Visakhapatnam districts, while its site office is in East Godavari district. The right bank of Srisailam irrigation project is in Kurnool and the left bank in Mehboob Nagar in Telangana region.   Except two live rivers Krishna and Godavari all the other 23 rivers that are flowing across the state can’t be reliable sources for irrigation or drinking water facility for Andhra region. Hence, how the GoM distribute these two main water resources of Krishna and Godavari between two states is going to be very crucial. The same way power generation plants are also located in both regions of the state, while their coal resources are located in Telangana region.   However, the officers don’t want to give their comments or judgment on these issues, since GoM is entrusted to resolve these issues.

Opposition makes fun of me: Rahul Gandhi

While, a scam every other day is surfacing in UPA government unearthed by its own CBI parrots, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi keep giving a good lectures on cleansing the politics and the need for youth representation in the government.   Often, he chooses some north Indian platforms, particularly poll bound non-congress-ruled states to deliver his lectures, but never in a state like Andhra Pradesh, which is in deep turmoil over bifurcation issue. He never come forward to openly talk on bifurcation issue or some about a scam but chooses subjects that have no objections from anyone.   This time also he chooses the poll bound BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh state for his practice. Participating in ‘Satta Parivartan (change of government) rally’ at Gwalior he said it is time to cleanse the politics and give an opportunity to youth to take the reins of the government.”   He surprised everybody by admitting that opposition parties are making fun out of his speeches. He said “Whenever I talk of giving adequate representation to the youth and women, they laugh at me. We will keep talking of progress but nothing will change unless we do not allow the youth to become members of state Assemblies and Parliament.”   If he is really honest with his words, first he should dump all his old horses from the race and let the CBI cleanse the corruption from his own government, otherwise he also will be considered one among those thousands of Congress leaders, who speak something and do something else.

Ashok babu spits fire on Purandeswari

Vizag Congress MP D.Purandeswari is trying to convince the Seemandhra people that it’s unwise to hang on to Samaikyandhra, while the Center is spearheading with bifurcation process. So, she advised the people to adopt a realistic approach towards this sensitive issue and realize that it is time for them to fight for a good package instead of wasting time on Samaikyandhra. Though, she may be realistic her suggestion draws severe criticism from Samaikyandhra protagonists.   APNGOs president P.Ashok babu speaking to media has asked her not to discourage the people with her unwanted suggestions.   “Her father late NTR has fought for the self-respect of the Telugu people. Being his daughter and representative of the people, she should reflect their opinions and continue fight for their cause. But, she is trying to foil our attempts to keep the state unite. While, we are continuing our fight even without taking our salaries, she simply withdrew from her responsibilities and also now preaching the people to follow her."   "If, she is not interested to continue her efforts to keep the state unite anymore, then at least she shouldn’t try to distract the people with her suggestions. We strongly believe that still there are number of hurdles in bifurcation process in several stages from Assembly to President’s approval. We are confident that the decision may be rolled back at any stage. So, we request her not to play spoilsport in our efforts to keep the state unite,” said Ashok babu.

NGOs' decision to impact political parties

So far, the three major political parties TDP, YSRCP and Congress parties have been strategically making their moves completely relying upon the Samaikyandhra agitations and APNGOs’ strike. But, already people have withdrawn from the agitations and now with APNGOs calling off their strike, these three political parties also have to change their game strategies to suit the changed situation.   Especially YSR Congress party, which is spearheading with Samaikyandhra agitations, has to find some other point to continue its hectic activities. In wake of this changed situation, the timing of YSR Congress party’s ‘Samaikya Shankaravam’ meeting to be held at Hyderabad on 26th of this month is also proved to be quite an odd event.   However, both TDP and Congress parties, which have been facing immense pressures due to the strikes and agitations, may have a sigh of relief with this development. However, still TDP has to unlock itself from bifurcation issue and initiate damage control in Telangana part, which would be a very difficult task.   Congress leaders will have all the ease of transferring the blame on their rival parties and their high command for bifurcation of the state and may slowly put efforts to reinstate their lost glory before the next general elections. Probably, it may be enough time for them to retain their hold on their constituencies.   However, all the parties wish that bifurcation process should not coincide with next general elections, which may ruin their electoral chances. All they can do now is just keep praying the Congress high command not to speed-up the process and for god’s sake just prolong the decision until the elections are over.

Does the parrot needs more training

The Congress trained CBI parrot always misspells the scams proving that it badly need much more training by its masters. Whenever it was ushered against some political rival or scam, often it encircles some one or the other, who is directly related to its master- Congress party.   After having a good bashing by Supreme Court for sharing information with its masters, CBI digs deep into Coal scam and named Kumar Mangalam Birla, the head of the Birla groups and former secretary of Coal Ministry PC Pharek, in its 14th charge sheet filed in this multi crore scam for their involvement in the allocation of coal mines in Odisha some six years ago.   However, as usually it misses it target and backfires at none other than Prime Minister of India Dr.Manmohan Sing, the then Minister for Coal Ministry.   PC Pharek, who enjoys a very clean image and good reputation, said “If CBI believes there was conspiracy in coal blocks allocation, then the first conspirer would be Birla, second will be me as the Secretary and third will be Dr.Manmohan Singh the then Coal minister, who approved these conspiracy.”   The Congress party is not in a stage to blame its CBI parrot for returning the favor. It cannot assert that there were irregularities taken place nor can condemn it. If it argues there were no irregularities taken place, then it would be finding fault with CBI investigation. If, it asserts irregularities taken place, then PM has to shoulder the blame of being part of the conspiracy. Hence, Congress says it is prejudice to comment anything on CBI’s reports, when the matter is with Supreme Court.

Are the Cong leaders just playing their roles?

Ever since, the bifurcation issue hits the state, speculations about replacing CM Kiran Kumar Reddy are popping-up in the media. But, even today Kiran Kumar Reddy is continuing in his post and shooting shots at his high command at regular intervals.   Though, the Home Minister Shinde categorically says that T-Bill will not be sent to Assembly and nor it need the Assembly approval to forward it to Parliament, some ministers like Anam Rama Narayana Reddy are still assuring the people that they will defeat the T-bill in the house and stall the bifurcation process.   On the other end at New Delhi, none of the MPs or Union Ministers’ resignation letters was approved by the Speaker or Prime Minister till date. Some MPs like Purandeswari are now convincing the people to accept bifurcation of the state.   Hence, if all these statements and developments seen collectively, then one can easily understand that everyone is playing their part of role given to them by high command and nothing goes out of the dotted lines.   Probably, CM and his team of ministers and MLAs may oppose the T-draft, which has no significance at all. Then, as usually there will be difference of opinions arises between MLAs and Ministers over quitting the government. Those who want to join YSR Congress party or some other party may quit the government condemning high command’s decision and rest of the MLAs will be glued to their posts promising to halt the bifurcation process with some other idea.

The venue makes a big difference

In quite coincidence presidents’ of two main opposition parties in the state Chandrababu Naidu and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy have sat for indefinite hunger strike with a gap of two days and ended it with same interval after five days.   However, the impact of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s hunger strike is very minimal and it even doesn’t solve the main purpose of boosting the spirits of his party in the region. The reason is choosing wrong venue for his hunger strike. Normally, political parties choose Indira Park for conducting such programs, which is ideal for getting full focus of the media and people. But, Jagan has preferred a much comfortable place near his Lotus Pond residence, probably due to security reasons or some other reasons. Hence, his hunger strike draws poor response from media and public.   Although, Chandrababu couldn’t get permission to conduct his hunger strike at Jantar Mantar area in New Delhi, which is earmarked for conducting such programs, still the National media and National party leaders have a good access of his venue at AP Bhavan. He utilized this opportunity to bring to their notice about how the Congress party is playing foul game with Telugu people. He is quite successful in highlighting the two month long Seemandhra people and APNGOs agitations for Samaikyandhra, which until then being ignored by the national media.   Hence, it is understood that choosing a right venue is also very important factor for success of such programs.
