There was hue and cry in Congress top brass over the remarks made by the former Secretary of Coal Ministry P C Parakh, who points his finger on Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh for allocation of coal blocks to Hindalco Company in year 2005, in which he and Kumara Mangalam Birla were charge sheeted.
Therefore, V Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, is quick to transfer the blame onto Screening Committee in which chief secretaries of the states were members, that recommends allocations of coal blocks to both public and private sectors. He said there is nothing to hide in this matter. All the allocations were made purely based upon the recommendations of the Screening Committee.”
Although, his ministry drives the CBI sitting in the back seat, since the Supreme Court takes the steering control, his ministry has to sit quite in pillion watching helplessly CBI spearheading with coal block scam.
CBI director Ranjit Sinha said that his officers may question Odisha CM Navin Patnaik also, who asked the Screening Committee to have a “re-look” into its decision of denying coal blocks to Hindalco in 2005.
