    Communal Violence in K'naka

      The incident of a youth being stabbed to death has sparked communal violence after the agitators clashed with the police demanding immediate action against the culprits. A youth was stabbed to death at Arsikere town in Karnataka on Sunday. Several vehicles and shops were damaged by the mob.

    Bengaluru–Mysore National Highway

    WiFi Failure;farmers block B'lore-Mysore road

    The busy Bengaluru–Mysore National Highway was blocked for two hours by farmers on Monday morning following the failure of WiFi at Ramanagara, Asia's largest silk market. The failure of WiFi led to the closure of online auctioning of silk cocoon at the silk market. The angry silk farmers hit the streets blocking traffic on the highway. senior police officials arrived at the spot and assured the growers that WiFi would be restored soon following which the agitators called off the road blockade.

    Yuvraj dedicates win to injured Nehra

      Yuvraj Singh who finished on the winning side in yesterday's IPL final has dedicated the team's win to Star bowler Ashish Nehra who was not playing the finals due to injury. Nehra sustained the injury during the match against Kings XI Punjab on May 15 and was ruled out for rest of the tournament. He tweeted: "This one for you Nehra ji we miss you ! Congratulations @sunrisershyd stuck together all the way through"

    Comedian held for imitating Sachin&Lata

      Comedian Tanmay Bhat's recent video "Sachin vs Lata Civil War", where Bhat is seen in the video making insulting remarks at the 86-year-old melody queen and the 43-year-old cricketing legend has got him into big time trouble. Actors Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh and Celina Jaitly had on Sunday criticised him. The police has asked Internet service providers to block Bhat's video.

    Day/night format for Duleep trophy

    The technical committee of BCCI has recommended the selectors to pick four teams to participate in a day and night Duleep trophy. With India likely to host a Day-Night Test this year, some players from India's Test squad are expected to feature in this tournament in order to get used to the pink ball. The tournament, which didn't take place last season due to a packed calendar, has been scheduled to be held this year ahead of India's home season.

    Anaesthesia given Instead Of Oxygen;Kids Die

    An infant and a 5 year old boy died after they were allegedly given anaesthesia instead of oxygen at government-run Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital in Indore. Ayush,5, died during Hernia surgery on May 27, while Rajveer,1, was being operated for a deformity on May 28, in the hospital's recently inaugurated operation theatre. Initially the hospital failed to determine the cause but a probe revealed that the pipeline that was supposed to supply oxygen to patients was carrying nitrous oxide, an anesthetic agent.

      Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title for the first time and that made every single fan of the team cheer with ultimate joy. Crediting his whole team for the dramatic win after a marathon run to the final, Warner said they would like to first enjoy the victory on Sunday night and thank everybody for supporting SRH throughout. Warner and his boys beat Virat's RCB by eight runs in an exciting contest at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday night.

    Africans beat up Ola driver

    The Delhi Police has filed a complaint against few African nationals for assaulting an Ola Taxi driver early morning today. The incident took place at around 4 am on Monday when Nuruddin, an Ola cab driver, was beaten up badly by six people, including two women of African origin, after he refused to carry more than four passengers in his vehicle.

      Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi attacked BJP for its 2year celebrations over the weekend. BJP head Amit Shah said "Do you see celebration in this? This is not a celebration. I feel, taking government's work to people through the press, interacting directly with people, giving an account as per its mandate is not celebration." He added, "Rahul Gandhiji only makes statements. I want to ask him, what happened to that Kalavati at whose house you stayed. We have tried to provide electricity and also gas to her. He just got a photograph taken with her," he said.

     Sahara land for sale

    Sahara's 4700 acres land up for sale

      Over 4,700 acres held by the Sahara Group across 14 states have been put on the block by HDFC Realty and SBI Capital Markets. The sale is expected to get around Rs 6,500 crore. Sahara claims it has a total land bank of 33,633 acres. Of this, Aamby Valley City near Lonavala accounts for 10,600 acres. About 1,000 acres is spread across towns and cities of Uttar Pradesh. Sahara chief Subrata Roy has been in Tihar jail since March 2014. Early this month, the Supreme Court released him and group director Ashok Roy Choudhary on parole for four weeks.

      There has been yet another startling revelation in the declassified files of Netaji which were released by the current government. A reading of one of the files on Netaji, which was declassified a couple of days ago, seem to suggest that the topmost levels of the government was discussing this man in 1963. The appearance of Shalumari Baba had sparked nationwide rumours at the time that Subhas Bose had reappeared. The Mukherjee Commission stated categorically that he was not Netaji. But now it would seem that although the baba was not Netaji, the latter could have been living as K K Bhandari in the ashram. 

     Mohenjo Daro

    Mohenjo Daro like site found in TN

      The excavation branch of the Archaeological Survey of India suggests that the settlement at Keeladi village in Tamil Nadu could be as large as the ones in Harappa and Mohenjo Daro. The current excavation works will go on till September this year. The excavation is lending much credence to the narrative in Sangam literature that throws light on the ancient Tamil way of life. The literature speaks volumes about the public and personal lives of rulers and the people of Tamil Nadu some 2000 or more years ago.

    Tamil Nadu went to Assembly polls on May 16 when AIADMK returned to power for a second consecutive term. In a first in India's electoral history, the Election Commission today decided to rescind the notification and conduct polls afresh "in due course of time" to two Tamil Nadu Assembly seats following evidence of use of money to influence voters.

    Indian Test captain Virat Kohli could play against limited overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni in exhibition matches for their respective franchises in the United States. Three franchises namely Mumbai Indians, RCB and Rising Pune Supergiants have expressed their desire to play some exhibition matches in the US. This is being done to popularize IPL T20 among people. This would be played in the month of September.

    Speaker buys luxurious car

    On Friday reported about the Speaker getting a new official car. The Lok Sabha Secretariat cited security reasons behind the decision to buy the vehicle, delivered at the Speaker’s official residence in Delhi on Monday. Mahajan had used a Toyota Camry as her official vehicle so far. And the Congress asked Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to reconsider the decision to use a luxury car.

    SBI profit down by 66%

    Country's largest lender SBI on Friday posted 66 per cent slump in standalone profit to Rs 1,263.81 crore for the fourth quarter of last fiscal ended March 31 as it more than doubled the provisions for bad loans. State Bank of India had reported net profit of Rs 3,742.02 crore in the corresponding, January-March quarter of the previous fiscal 2014-15.

    WHO said moving the Olympics would not have a major impact on the spread of Zika. The World Health Organization has ruled out any change in timing or the location of the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, striking off a request by doctors and scientists to shift the games over the Zika virus outbreak in Brazil.

    By 2018 Ganga will be cleanest River

    Ganga would be one of the cleanest rivers of the world by 2018, says minister Uma Bharti at the 2 year celebrations of Modi government in the capital. She said,"If you think we have stopped taking steps towards clean Ganga, it is not so. Before any big race, a sprinter stops a bit, assesses the destination and then sprints towards it. So, our destination is October 2018 when we will show it to the world that Ganga is one of the cleanest rivers in the world."
