Will TRS merge with Congress ever?

Although the Congress party is firmly reiterating its stand on Telangana, all the signs it is giving during the last few days, makes TRS suspect about its intentions. Hence, the Congress efforts to merge TRS with it yield no positive results. TRS believes that Congress is gradually succumbing to pressures of Seemandhra leaders and to the ongoing Samaikyandhra agitations. So, though the TRS president KCR and his MPs landed at New Delhi to vote for the food security bill, they have not shown any interest to meet the Congress high command for discussing on merger issue.   TRS Politburo member B.Vinod Kumar speaking to media has said “We are not in hurry to merge with Congress party. Let it fulfill its promise of creating Telangana state first. Any discussions about merger can be initiated only after Congress completes the bifurcation process and Telangana state emerges. However, we would like to oblige Digvijay Singh’s request of voting in favour of food security bill, as it helps crores of downtrodden to have their daily meal. But, it doesn’t mean that we can be taken for granted by the Congress party either on bifurcation or merger issues. We insist the Congress to complete the process as early as possible.”   His statement indicates that there is a wide gap between Congress and TRS plans. Probably, TRS wants to buy some time for it. TRS might be thinking that if it could prolong this merger issue till next general elections, then it can take appropriate decision that gives maximum benefit for them.   But, Congress is desperate to remove the TRS flag from Telangana before going for the elections, so as there will be no contenders for it in the region. But, it finds itself in helpless situation in its decision. Neither it can’t go ahead or stop the bifurcation process.

Perfect patron for agitations followed

One shouldn’t blame that the ongoing agitations for Samaikyandhra are moving aimless and disordered. Political parties of the state have developed a perfect patron for continuing their agitations.   YSR Congress MLAs have kicked off the agitations with their resignations and they were simply followed by Congress and TDP leaders also. Then there is a competition for conducting ‘five-day-indefinite-hunger strike.’ Several small and big leaders of Congress, YSR Congress and TDP, who want to catch the media and public attention have joined this grand event and successfully completed it. The government also lets the political leaders sit for fast-unto-death hunger strikes for maximum five or six days, so as everyone could get their due share of their deserved media focus.   People have seen YSR Congress party honorary president Vijayamma, several Congress and TDP leaders have successfully completing this five-day show. Jagan Mohan Reddy has completed the first day of this show and five more days left in his show.   After resignations, deekshas and surviving fast-unto death hunger strikes, then the political leaders take the luxury busses to educate the agitating people about the necessity of Samaikyandhra and to explain them about the ill effects of the bifurcation. Although, Chandrababu got this idea first but couldn’t start his tour, Hari Krishna and Sharmila are all set to start bus yatras very soon. People of the state, especially Seemandhra should be proud to have leaders like these, who take pains to develop a perfect patron for agitations. They should also thank them for educating at free of cost. But, people would like to know what next after bus yatras are completed?

Why only Hari Krishna’s resignation approved

TDP leader Hari Krishna’s resignation for his Rajya Sabha seat has been approved within two days after submission, where as Congress, YSR Congress and TDP MPs resignations have been kept on hold till today by the Speaker. They also submitted their resignation letters in speaker format two-three weeks ago. Yet, none of their resignations were accepted till today. This gives way for suspicion over the approval of Hari Krishna.   There were rumors that Union Minister and Hari Krishna’s sister D.Purandeswari has played instrumental in approving his resignation, so as it could put the TDP on anvil. Congress is well aware of his aggressive behavior predicts that he may turn a trouble maker for TDP. So, it swiftly approves his resignation. He proved that Congress has judged him very perfectly. He is going to start ‘Chaiatanya yatra’ from Nimmakooru in Krishna district very soon demanding Samaikyandhra against his party wishes. Hari Krishna has not intimated about his decision to his party high command nor asked for its permission for conducting the tour. So, it is understood that actually he is agitating against his own party and its president Chandrababu and not for Samaikyandhra.   Hari Krishna, who failed to make a dent in the party and as a Rajya Sabha member all these years, is now planning to educate the people about the consequences of the bifurcation with his tour. The man, who hardly has any followers at all, now wants to lead the people for Samaikyandhra. The man, who couldn’t adjust with his very own family members, wants the people of the state live together in one state. TDP leader KE Krishna Murthy has sharply criticized Hari Krishna for crossing the party lines merely to project his son Jr.NTR in politics.

Congress idea backfires

Congress party’s decision to divide the state has virtually splits all the political parties including itself. There is no winner but everyone losses in this dirty political game. Actually, Congress plans to gain upper hand over TRS party and wipeout TDP in Telangana state with this plan. The T-Congress leaders’ failure to claim the T-credit has comes as a blessing for TRS party. KCR has grabbed this opportunity and has been successfully projecting himself as a war hero of Telangana. The basic idea of bifurcation is to dilute the TRS party. But, it helps TRS to become strong because Congress party’s inability to implement its decision. TRS got a breather, when the CM Kiran Kumar Reddy himself has talked against CWC decision.   Congress idea has also backfired at it in Seemandhra region as its leaders are revolting against its decision. The Seemandhra region has come to a standstill and Congress is clueless on how to bring the region back to normalcy.   However, Congress plan to destabilize the TDP and YSR Congress parties has worked very well. Both the parties have paid heavily in both regions. While, YSR Congress party has to put its Telangana wing at stake, TDP is the worst hit in both regions. Chandrababu, who has well controlled his Seemandhra leaders, while giving a consent letter for Telangana state creation, now fails to control the same leaders. This adversely reflects on his party in Telangana region. Yet, he is forced to watch the developments helplessly. Adding fuel to fumes, now Hari Krishna has resigned to his Rajya Sabha member post and is planning to conduct a Bus tour to gather support for Samaikyandhra.

Is Congress going to split due to bifurcation decision

Routhu Suryaprakash Rao, the Congress MLA from Rajahmundry has told the media that a political party intended to continue the Samaikyandhra agitations is likely to be floated soon, probably after end of current parliament sessions. He said it will be given name as Samaikya Indira Congress. He said the name will be given so, because late Indira Gandhi has kept the state intact despite facing immense pressures for Telangana state.   He speculates there will be drastic change in political equations in the state, after launching of the party. He said the party will lead by a new leader. He is indicating that the Seemandhra Congress leaders have not completely given up their efforts to stop bifurcation of the state, but are doing some spadework to counter it. If, he is to be believed, he might be telling us that Seemandhra leaders of the Congress party are going to part ways with Congress and continue their agitations under this new banner.   The timing for launching of this political party, (that is at the end of the parliament sessions) may be just to enable all the Seemandhra leaders to make-up their mind, whether they would like to join the people in their battle against bifurcation or will abide by party decision.   But, the question is can the Seemandhra leaders, who are dancing to the tunes of party high command, dare to take such a bold step at all? Even if they did so, are they will be able to halt the bifurcation process at all, while it can be completed without their consent.
