Congress V/S Samajwadi fight continues

  The suspension of 28-year-old IAS officer Ms Durga Shakthi Nagpal by Uttar Pradesh government has led to fight between Congress and Samajwadi parties, with Sonia Gandhi’s letter written to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh asking to intervene in the matter.   Ms Durga Shakthi Nagpal, who is serving the UP Government was suspended as the government believes her order to demolish the wall of a mosque being built in a Greater Noida has led to tensions among two groups. But, Nagpal is arguing that she has not ordered for demolition yet suspended due to pressures from Sand Mafia, with which she is fighting to safeguard the interests of the people and the state government. Kadir Khan Jayaswal A member of the UP Waqf Board has also told the media Ms.Nagpal has not ordered any one to demolish the Mosque wall during her visit to the place. But when she left the place, some people belong to sand mafia gang has raged the wall to trap her.   But, Samajwadi succumbed to Mafia pressures have firmly stuck to its stand while refuting charges levied against it by the IAS officer and the rival parties. This is when Sonia Gandhi writes letter to Dr.Manmohan Singh asking to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh intervening in the matter.   Following her directions he said “We are trying to get the full details of this issue from the State government. There are rules laid down and rules will be followed,” before the start of Parliament’s Monsoon session.   Uttar Pradesh CM Akilesh Yadav sharply reacting to Congress approach on the matter has said in case Center would like to intervene in our affairs, we are ready to surrender all the IAS officers to it and still we can manage with our local officers. Samajwadi party is planning to counter the UPA government by staying away from voting on the Food Security Bill to be introduced in these sessions.

Is T decision aimed to cut down Jagan Influence?

  YSR Congress party honorary president YS Vijayamma has made a dismaying statement yesterday. She said “Congress party has divided the state only to reduce the influence of my son Jagan Mohan Reddy. Congress, which is afraid of him, has taken this hasty decision. It fails to justify rest of the state, while taking this decision. Then, how can people expect it justify them during bifurcation process? Instead of behaving like a head of the family, Congress takes decision that helps its leaders only. Even today, its leaders are speaking with forked tongues. While, some are supporting division of the state, some are agitating opposing the decision. Some others are sitting on the wall playing neutral role in this whole affair. Even TDP also betrayed the people of both regions with its dual stands. Whether, YSR is alive or not, there are lakhs of people in both regions, who love and worship him till today.”   If, Vijayamma believes that Congress has divided the state only to reduce her son’s influence on the state, then what about the separate state demand raised by 4 crores people of Telangana? Is Jagan factor is much important than their agitations for Congress?   If, Jagan has so much influence on the state, then why it is not reflected in Co-Operative Society and Panchayat elections held recently in both regions? Can she assure a sweeping victory for her party even today in Telangana region, because she says there are lakhs of YSR fans in the region? If so, then why did her party has so suddenly winds-up its activities in Telangana region? Why did it keep quite all these days until Congress announces its decision?   It is nothing but an attempt to project her darling son Jagan Mohan Reddy up above the all in the state, where as he himself shrinks his status to a sub regional leader by taking ‘U’ turn on Telangana. Now, his party in way is comparable with any of the parties in the state, except TRS and MIM parties, which also perfectly fits into same category.

MLAs in conflict situation looking for a way-out

  Chandrababu might have thought that he has very easily overcomes the Telangana issue, when he was able to manage his leaders of both regions, until the Congress announced Telangana state on July 30th. But, things start changing rapidly against his calculations and wishes. His party MLAs resignations for Samaikyandhra and their active participation in the agitations leave him in embarrassing situation. Neither he could not convince his MLAs to refrain from such activities as the party is committed for Telangana creation nor can support their demands. This gives his rivals a weapon to tag him with his ‘unreliable’ label that he used to carry on him in the past. YSR Congress, which also took a ‘U’ turn on this issue is demanding him to spell his stand on the bifurcation. Chandrababu has no answer to offer for this question. So, he is sitting cool with fingers crossed.   However, all those MLAs who resigned and joined in the agitations are also wants to come out of this conflict situation as early as possible. Once the bifurcation process gains momentum and the two member committee comprising Digvijay Singh and AK Anthony starts negotiations with them, then they will have a way-out of the conflict situation. otherwise, they have to carry on with their agitations without knowing when it will come to an end.

Committee formed to address bifurcation issues

  Congress party state political affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh has announced that a two member committee has been constituted to address the issues raised during bifurcation process. He and defense minister AK Anthony will be members of this committee. The Committee will negotiate with regional leaders of both sides and will try to find an amicable solutions to the issues raised by them.

Ram Gopal tweets on bifurcation

Whether one would take any initiative in solving the burning issue of bifurcation or not, everyone have their own opinions and suggestions for it. Director Ram Gopal Varma also have something to say on this issue. He is very active on social networking and has a good number of followers to his credit. So, he often seen passing odd remarks on some body or on some incident or giving his opinions.   He tweets “Not getting into technicalities I find it ironical tht an Italian a Kannadiga a Tamilian a Bihari and a Hindi joined hands to divide Telugus”   When, leaders of the state are incapable to find an amicable solution to this burning issue, then we need not to blame others, who resolved it for us at their level and capacity. It is we, who handed over the matter to them and not they put their nose into this matter. If, our political leaders and their parties would have initiated negotiations on this issue, setting aside their ego problems and political interests for the sake of state, definitely no one would have a chance to put their nose into this issue. Even the media, which could play a vital role in resolving this problem, has simply absconds from its duties. What it did all was just conducting wild debates between different political party leaders. So, we need not to blame others for our lack of interest ignorance.

Digvijay hints Delhi model governance for Hyd.

  Digvijay Singh has stated that they are considering to adopt either Union Territory option or New Delhi model governance for Hyderabad city, until Andhra Pradesh states develops its capital and other infrastructure.   In such case, the law and order will be controlled by central government. Governor will act as the Lieutenant Governor for Hyderabad and both states. This will address the apprehensions over the safety and security of Andhra people settled in Hyderabad.   However, he categorically stated that Hyderabad belongs to Telangana only and it is integral part of the Telangana state. He asserted that there will be no change in party stand over its commitment on Telangana with 10 districts including Hyderabad. He said both the states can make long strides in development as they were blessed with natural resources. He asked the both the regional leaders to refrain from making provocative statements. He opined it will help only to slow down the bifurcation process but can’t deter the process.

Will Jagan reward Sharmila for her achievement

    Sharmila has successfully completed her tiresome ‘Maro Prasthanam’ padayatra yesterday at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district. She will be returning to Hyderabad on Monday morning. Indeed, she has achieved a very rare record of walking 3122 km. During her padayatra she has tried to spread the message that her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy alone can bring the golden era of late YSR’s regime.   She has proved her boldness by sharply criticizing the ruling Congress government and their leaders including CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Botsa Satryanarayana during her padayatra. At the same time, she also aimed her guns at her rival party Chief Chandrababu Naidu. She also has proved that she has determination to complete any task taken-up by her, by successfully completing her padayatra. During this tiresome journey, she has sharpened her political skills. She has closely observed the miserable lives of the down trodden people. She also might have realized and assessed the actual situation of her party all over the state. So, it gives her edge over the seniors of her party and qualifies her to claim key post in her party. She has acquired enough political skills to run the party during the absence of her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy.   Today, when she lands at Hyderabad she will straight away go to Chanchalguda jail to meet her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy and report him about her experiences and to discuss the party situation. He is likely to reward her with a suitable key post in the party for her rare achievement.   YSRCP leaders are waiting at Shamshabad airport to give her a grand welcome at Hyderabad airport. She will lead a procession that passes through Katedhan, Chandrayana Gutta Cross roads, Owaisi Hospitals and reach Chanchalguda Jail around noon today.

Is there Government in the state

  People are dismayed to see the CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is sitting cool, even when the state is reeling under agitations and on the other side while the government administration comes to a virtual grinding halt. CM has confined to his camp office, talking to his ministers over their resignations. Instead of taking control of the situation, he lets the state burn with agitations and conflict over sharing state capital. Would there be a peaceful atmosphere prevails in the state, by now he would have extensively touring across the state boasting about himself with his welfare schemes with loud voice. But, he is now even averting media since last one week.   His inaction becomes curse for the people and leaves the state in a desperate situation. He is sitting cool as if nothing is happening around him. He not even thought to address the people through the media. People of the state are quite unfortunate to have such a government that can't maintain peace in the state.   While, CM is sitting cool, his other ministers and MLAs on resignations spree to safeguard their political interests. They are also encouraging the people continue their agitations instead of guiding them in right direction. While the peoples’ representatives are indulged in the political blame games, entire state administration has come to a stand still. Virtually there is no presence of government observed anywhere in the state except the alert police forces guarding on the roads.

Final Charge sheet on Jagan in next month

  CBI is working over time to meet the September-deadline given by Supreme Court for completing investigation in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets cases. Its investigation has almost comes to an end. So, CBI is planning to club all the further charge sheets and file it in the court at a time before end of next month. In such case, again Jagan can file his bail petition any time after CBI files its last charge sheet. But, whether CBI will let him go off its hook?   Even if he is able secure bail from CBI’s cases, there is Enforcement Directorate eagerly waiting for his possession. If, ED takes him into its custody then it may move him to Tihar Jail, in New Delhi for a easy approach to him for interrogation. So in such case, Jagan Mohan Reddy may not apply for bail because his presence around is very essential for his party survival. But, if his party could strike a deal with Congress party, then ED also may not bother to arrest him. The Congress party, which made a bold step in resolving Telangana issue may next open channels to strike a deal with his party.

Will Chandrababu give consent letter for Samaikyandhra

  The ongoing championship race of ‘saviors of Samaikyandhra’ between the political parties makes them cross swords with their rivals than concentrating on the agitations. Their main agenda is to sling mud on their rivals and to win the championship in this political game. Congress and YSRCP leaders are blaming TDP for division of the state and try to tag it with sinner label.   TDP leader Kodela Shiva Prasad rao refuting allegations levied against his party, has challenged the Congress leaders that if he convinces Chandrababu and make him give a consent letter for Samaikyandhra, shall they make their party high command retrieve its decision on bifurcation.   Kodela might thought to defend his party from its rivals, but he makes Chandrababu quite embarrassed with his challenge. In other words, he is endorsing that Chandrababu is still favors Samaikyandhra and is opposing bifurcation. This may provide another weapon to their rival TRS party, which is already blessed with TDP MLAs resignations.

Can Congress oblige TRS merge with it

  After declaring division of state, the next thing Congress is expecting is to see TRS merge with it. But, whether it can oblige the TRS chief to merge his party or not is solely depends on how the bifurcation process progresses in favour of Telangana and what packages it offers to him and to his party as a compensation. By now, KCR might have understood that if the Congress really puts effort, it can very easily turn tables on him at any given moment. More over, he is aware that the timing of the T announcement is perfectly helpful for Congress. It can attract the Telangana voters with its bifurcation process that will be spread over four to six months period, that is till the elections’ whistle blows.   Although, KCR wants to keep his party alive, the change in the situation may force him to merge his party with Congress or at least go for a poll alliance with it. He has kept his options open by demanding the Congress to introduce a bill on Telangana in the Parliament. But, it is learnt that back-door-discussions between the two parties are already in brisk progress and if Congress agrees to his terms and conditions, and offers an attractive package to him, then he may merge his party with Congress any time.

Undavalli and five others resigned

  Congress MPs Lagadapati Raja Gopal, Undavalli Arun Kumar, KVP Rama Chandra rao, Harsha Kumar, Anantha Venkata Rami Reddy and Sai Prathap have resigned to their posts. They have handed over their resignation letters to Parliament Secretary just a short while ago. Four Union Ministers are also likely to submit their resignations letters today.

Blame game on bifurcation continues

  The three major political parties TDP, Congress and YSR Congress parties have indulged in a serious blame game on who should be tagged with ‘sinner label’ for the division of the state? While, YSR Congress party is blaming its rivals Congress and TDP, they are also blaming it for the same reasons. Congress has pulled out the letter signed by late YS Rajashekhar Reddy in year 2004 demanding separate state. It is also showing the letter signed by the party honorary president YS Vijayamma giving her party consent to Congress party for taking appropriate decision on the burning issue during the all party meeting held by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Congress argues that it is because of YSRCP and TDP letters the Congress gone ahead with bifurcation idea.   TDP refuting charges levied by YSRCP on same grounds asks, if YSRCP is really opposes bifurcation, then why did it said that “It will honest the Telangana people’s sentiments” during its plenary meetings? Why did it keep quite all these days until the Congress has made-up its mind for division of the state? TDP asks whether YSRCP has kept mum all these days to establish itself in Telangana region and when it is unable to settle there, has changed the stand to gain political mileage in Seemandhra region.   YSRCP argues it is because of TDP and the Congress the state is divided. While, Congress opts it to gain political mileage in Telangana and to reduce Jagan Mohan Reddy influence on the people of the state and TDP has encouraged the Congress for same reasons. YSRCP blames, that if TDP wouldn’t given its consent letter in the all party meeting, then Telangana wouldn’t have been created now.

Eight Ministers, 24 MLAs resigned

  So far 8 ministers, 24 MLAs and 5 MLCs have resigned to their posts protesting party decision of dividing the state. They are Ministers Ganta Srinivasa rao, Vatti Vasantha Kumar, Anam Rami Narayana Reddy, Erasu Prathap Reddy, Shatrucharla Vijaya Rama rao, Kasu Krishna Reddy, Vatti Vasantha Kumar and Mahidar Reddy. Daggubati Venkateswara rao, Paladugu Venkat Rao, JC Diwakar Reddy, Gadhe Venkat Reddy, Anam Vivekananda Reddy, Kottapalli Subbarayudu, Ugra Narasimha Reddy, ram Bhupal Reddy, Shilpa Mohan Reddy, Malladhi Vishnu, Katasani Ram Reddy, Labbi Venkataswamy, Kanna babu, Gandhi Mohan, Yalamanchili Ravi, Venkatramayya, Vanga Geetha, Vempalli Srinivasa rao, Sesha Reddy, Usha Rani, Murali, Adinarayana, K. Nageswara rao, Shajahan, Rudraraju and few others have resigned to their posts. While some of them have submitted their resignation letters to CM Kiran Kumar Reddy rest have handed over to PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana.

TDP MLA Devineni Uma resigns

  TDP also felt the Samaikyandhra heat with its MLA Devineni Uma resigning to his post. He has sent his resignation letter in speaker format to speaker Nadendla Manohar by fax today. He said that the farmers of the region will have to suffer with the Congress decision. Hence, he is resigning to his post protesting Congress decision. Although, he has resigned in support of Samaikyandhra agitations, he is beating the bush to avoid embarrassment to his party. However, his resignation is definitely going to encourage others in the party to follow his path. In such case, there will be big crisis in TDP. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to keep his Seemandhra leaders intact with party decision. But, according to reports several MLAs, MLCs are ready with resignation letters in hand.

Seemandhra ministers and MLAs to resign

  All the Seemandhra Ministers have decided to quit their posts immediately. A unanimous decision was taken by the ministers in the meeting held at Ministers’ quarters at Hyderabad. Later, speaking to media minister TG Venkatesh said “We have unanimously decide to submit our resignation letters protesting division of the state. We are going to submit our resignations in speaker format today itself. We here by appeal our high command to reconsider the decision. After submitting our resignation letters, we will return our constituencies and join the agitations organized by JACs. All the MLAs and MLCs are also going to resign.”   When, Digvijay Singh has made it clear that there is no possibility of reconsideration and no question of taking back step on the decision, Seemandhra leaders resignations will lead to constitutional crisis, that obliges the Center to impose President Rule on the state. Probably, this is what the Seemandhra leaders are planning with their resignations and certainly not reconsideration of decision as they too very well know that it is impossible at this point. If, President Rule is imposed on the state, they might be thinking that it will give them bargaining power to justify their demands on several issues like sharing revenue, waters, employment etc.

No reconsideration on T decision: Digvijay Singh

  Congress party state political affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh responding to the on going agitations in Seemandhra region has categorically stated that the decision to divide the state was taken after thorough study and wide consultations. So, there is no chance for reconsidering the decision. He said when a crucial decision was taken protests, agitations, and rallies are quite common. He said there is no surprise even if some leaders quit their posts opposing the decision. He appealed the Seemandhra leaders not to take any hasty decisions. He said the agitations and resignations won’t change the party decision. He said it is quite unfortunate to hear about vandalizing national leaders statues. He appealed the people of the region to refrain from such activities.   Briefing about the benefits of becoming separate Andhra Pradesh state, he said the new state can develop a wonderful capital like Gandhi Nagar or Chandigadh in the next few years. He said there is lot of scope for growth in the new state as it is blessed with surplus energy, gas reserves, very lengthy coastal corridor etc. He said, soon he will visit the state and will talk to the people. He said there is nothing to be afraid of the division, instead they should realize that there is lot of potential for growth in the new states.

Minister Ganta and 5 MLS resigned

  Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao has reassigned to his post protesting party decision on bifurcation. Mandali Buddha Prasad, MLAs Katasani, Sesha Reddy, Katasani, L.Venkata Swamy and Shajhan Badhsha are also resigned to their posts on the same reasons and sent their resignation letters to speaker by fax. According to latest information, all the remaining 14 ministers representing Seemandhra region are also planning resign to their posts on today evening.   The Samaikyandhra agitations and rallies gained momentum across the Seemandhra region. People and students agitating for Samaikyandhra have staged dharnas before Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana , Erasu Prathap Reddy, Galla Aruna Kumari, Ganta Srinivasa rao and others houses demanding for their resignations. In some places the protests took violent shape. Particularly, the effect is very high in Rayalaseema which is a strong hold for YSR Congress party. However, the situation is still under control. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked the Police and paramilitary forces to refrain using force or firing rubber bullets at the agitating people.   AICC general secretary Tirunavakkaru has arrived at Hyderabad and another secretary Kuntia is also expected to reach Hyderabad by today evening. They were sent to negotiate with Congress ministers, who are fuming on the party high command.
