AP government challenges high court order

      AP Government challenge High Court order which set aside the compensation paid to Muslim youth wrongly arrested in 2007 Mecca Masjid bomb blasts.   The AP high court on Monday has set aside an order of the state government to pay compensation to those who were arrested in may 2007 and were later acquitted. A division bench comprising chief justice kalyan jyoti sengupta and justice k c bhanu was dealing with a PIL filed by S Venkatesh goud challenging the compensation paid to 70 muslim youth for wrongful confinement. The bench had ruled on Monday that the government has no authority or jurisdiction to pay compensation.

TDP MPs met Vigilance Commission

  It seems the allegations levied by YSRCP against TDP President Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed visit to Delhi visit has obliged them change their game plan. Only TDP MPs led by Nama Nageswara rao have landed at Delhi and met Vigilance Commission to lodge complaint against Enforcement Directorate for not taking interest in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets cases. They allege that ED seems to be planning to let Jagan Mohan Reddy go off its hook, as his party may merge with ruling Congress party. They remind the Vigilance Commission that CBI has filed charge sheets against Jagan Mohan Reddy for making loss of Rs.43, 000 crores to the state government with his fraud practices. They asked the VC to alert the ED officials on this particular case.

UPA behind slow down in Jagan assets case

      A delegation of TDP mps lead by Nama Nageswar Rao met central vigilance officer requesting to speed up investigation in Jagan's disproportionate assets case. Speaking to media after CVC meet Nama said " It seems that the investigation is being slow down intentionally as UPA & State Govt are taking political advantage. That's why they didn't grant permission to prosecute many officials & Ex Ministers.CBI has stated that they found 43 crores worth illegalities took place in their investigation as off now. But Enforcement Directorate didn't recover even 250 crores. All that money is public money. It has to be recovered. As CVC has control over ED, SEBI etc, we requested to speed up the investigation by ED"   The delegation is scheduled to meet CBI and Enforcement directorate later today.

Chandrababu declares assets

  Following the practice of yearly announcing the assets, TDP President Chandrababu Naidu has declared his and his family members assets on Monday. The total assets of his family including his own are Rs.41.70 crores, declared Chandrababu.   According to him they were Rs.40 crores in 2011, Rs. 35.59 crore in the last year and it is now Rs. 41.70 crores. His personal assets during last year were Rs.31.97 lakh and the same are valued at Rs.42.06 lakh.   Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari, who is in-charge of his family business Heritage Foods have assets worth Rs. 33.05 crore, whereas they were Rs.24.57 crore last year. Nara Lokesh has assets worth Rs.4.92 core.   Last year they were Rs.6.62 crore, which means a sharp decrease of Rs.1.70 crores. However his wife Brahmani possesses assets worth Rs. 3.30 crores, whereas they were Rs.2.09 crore in the last year.   Responding to his rival party leaders allegations of having Rs.2000 crores assets in total, Chandrababu said he would like to transfer that entire amount to them if they prove it.

Traffic curbs and restrictions for ganesh immersion

      To clear rush of passengers during Ganesh immersion, south central railway will run eight special MMTS trains. Meanwhile wine shops and bars including those attached to restaurants shall remail close in Hyderabad from 5p.m on tuesday to 6a.m on september 20 on orders of Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissioners. To avoid congestion, traffic restrictions have been imposed in the city. No traffic other than the procession of idols will be allowed to move on main route between 9 am on sep 18 and 8 am on sep 19. The main procession of idol starts from Keshavagiri and passes through Ailabad, nagulachinta, charminar, madina, afzalgunj, mj market, abids, basherrbagh, liberty, upper tank bund and NTR marg.

Rayapati send feelers to TDP

  Senior Congress leader and Guntur MP Rayapati Sambhasiva rao, who is opposing the party decision of dividing the state has been gradually distancing from Congress after realizing that bifurcation is inevitable. So far, he has alerted the Congress high command several times about the negative situation that is developing against the party in the region, but it goes unheard.   But, this time he gives different signals to party as well as to rival TDP. He speculates that during next general Congress party will be completely wiped off from Seemandhra region, while YSRCP will hardly get 16-18 MLAs seats only. He predicted that TDP is going to make a clean sweep in the next elections by bagging 90-104 Assembly seats. He claims that this is not just mere guess work but it is a professional report of a survey carried out by a leading organization. Whether, he is to be believed or not, he made it clear that in case if he quits Congress party, his first preference would be TDP. Hope TDP will respond to his feelers.

Is bifurcation issue also pivotal in Jagan's bail case

  CBI has to file its counter on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail petition on or before 18th of this month. Then the court will decide whether to grant bail to him or not after hearing arguments of both parties on 18th. In the meantime CBI is also ready to file the two final charge sheets on his disproportionate assets cases.   So far, YSR Congress party has been blaming Congress party for trapping him in jail with false cases and CBI has become an instrument in its hand. Now bifurcation issue also adds a new angle to this case. YSRCP alleges that Congress and TDP have joined hands in dividing the state so that they can eliminate Jagan Mohan Reddy from both regions.   However, when finally Congress announced T-state, YSRCP simply jumps out of Telangana and is spearheading with Samaikyandhra slogan to gain upper hand in Seemandhra region. It strongly believes that Congress gains a clear upper hand in Telangana with its decision and leaves no room for TDP there. So Chandrababu, who doesn’t want to lose Seemandhra to YSRCP, is going to Delhi to throw wrench in Jagan’s bail petition, argues YSRCP.   Hence, if YSRCP allegations are to be believed now bifurcation issue also turns pivotal in his bail case. TDP also accuses that YSRCP and Congress have had a secret pact for his bail in lieu with alliance or merger between the two parties in Seemandhra. So, either way Jagan’s bail is somehow connected with bifurcation issue. The suspense over his bail may clear within next few days.

Nina Davuluri is first Miss America of Indian descent

      Miss America 2014 Title: Nina Davuluri became the first contestant of Indian heritage and the second consecutive contestant from New York to win the Miss America pageant Sunday night.   Davuluri, 24, won the title as the nationally televised pageant returned home to Atlantic City. She succeeds another Miss New York, Mallory Hagan, whose tenure was cut short when the pageant moved back to Atlantic City after a six-year stint in Las Vegas, where winners were chosen in January. Davuluri performed a classical Bollywood fusion dance for her talent competition. After the traditional frolic in the Atlantic City surf Monday morning, she will head to the scene of a devastating boardwalk fire in the New Jersey communities of Seaside park and Seaside Heights on Monday afternoon. The pageant had pitted 53 contestants — one from each state, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands — in swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview competitions.

JP’s tour is not against anyone: Rajamouli

  While entire film industry prefers to sit tight lipped on the bifurcation issue, director Rajamouli has boldly expressed his views on it through his micro blogging site Twitter.   He writes, “I don’t know whether the state will be benefitted or lost with bifurcation. I also do not know whether it occurs now or postponed. But, the hatred and the fights between Telugu people will definitely be a big loss to us and to our state. People should cool their tempers first and be prepared to negotiate with others instead of crossing swords. I know it is not as easy as I said, but it is the only option to resolve our problems. When, no one is ready to take initiative, Loksatta party leader Jayaprakash Narayan has taken initiative to defuse the tensions among the people. But, there is a general belief in the people that his present ‘Telugu Tejam’ tour is against Samaikyandhra agitations. So a section of the people are obstructing his meetings. It is not fair on their part. Earlier, he has conducted seminars in Telangana also during agitations period to defuse the tensions. He wants to bring the people to negotiation table and ensure problems are resolved in a peaceful manner. Hence, people should listen to him instead of simply opposing him.”

Is Sharmila trying to lure AP NGOs?

  YSRCP has put its political interests in Telangana at stake and spearheading with ‘Samaikyandhra point’ to win upper hand in Seemandhra region, yet it couldn’t get the full mileage out of its plans. Instead, AP NGOs have flayed the political parties for playing with people’s sentiments. YSRCP, which in fact has expected them acknowledge its fight and extend their full support to it, is shocked with their rude response.   Hence, it appears did some homework after AP NGOs meeting on how to attract them towards it. After a weeklong homework, YSRCP has come-up with sops to AP NGOs. Sharmila has announced that her party will give full payment for the strike period and also bonus to the employees, when comes to power.   Though it is very common for political parties to lure the people with such offers, it is surprising to see Sharmila, who is not even member of her party is announcing such offers on behalf of her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy. Normally, companies give bonus to their employees depending on the profits that they earned with the efforts of the employees, whereas Sharmila declares bonus to 4.5 lakh employees for conducting indefinite strike, even without having any idea about how much it will cost to the government, what would the source for raising such a huge amount and what could be the position of the new government after bifurcation of the state.   If, the government wants to pay just Rs. 100/- each to all the 4.5 lakh employees then, it will be Rs.4, 50, 00,000. Then what would the total amount, if the government wants to pay one full salary and an equal amount of payment as bonus to all the employees? This reveals that YSRCP can promise heaven to the people for grabbing the power.

T-Meeting on 29th

  T-JAC Chairman Prof.Kodandaram has announced a huge public meeting given name as ‘Sakala Janula Bheri’will be held at Hyderabad on 29th of this month. He appealed the people of Telangana to make the meeting a grand success by attending in large numbers.   Speaking to media he said T-JAC is going to hold preparation meetings “Sannaha Rana Bheri’ in all the 10 districts and will conduct rallies at district headquarters to educate and mobilize the people for the main meeting to be held at Hyderabad on 29th.   He asked the T-Ministers to quit from Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet. He said the delay in bifurcation process makes him suspect the Congress honesty again. He suspects that it may try to cheat the Telangana people, if not remain alerted. Hence, he asked the T-Congress leaders to pressurize their high command for speeding-up the T-process. Prof.Kodandaram demanded the UPA government to dismiss the government and initiate negotiation between leaders of both regions over sharing of waters.   He said YSRCP has now turned into a full-fledged Seemandhra party, while TDP is still trying to bluff the people of both regions.

Did TDP and YSRCP have hidden agendas?

  TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed visit to New Delhi leads to a cat fight between the two party leaders. Leaders of both parties are blaming that their rival has a hidden agenda and has a secret pact with Congress party.   Former TDP leader and present YSR Congress member Umma Reddy Venkateswarulu alleged that “Chandrababu Naidu maintains certain pattern in his Delhi visits. He lands at Delhi, whenever there is some significant incident or situation takes place in the state. This time also he is going to Delhi only to drop a spanner in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail case. Though his party leaders are showing some silly reasons for his Delhi visit, we are sure that he is going there with hidden agenda to stop Jagan Mohan Reddy releasing from jail on bail.”   TDP Leader Payyavula Keshav responding to YSRCP allegations has said “ YSRCP allegations against us reveals that they are scared of our party president Chandrababu’s visit to Delhi. If they are not having any secret pact with Congress party, then why should they afraid of our leader’s visit to Delhi? This clearly tells us that YSRCP has had a secret pact with Congress party for Jagan Mohan Reddy release from jail.”   However, it is to be observed that Congress party doesn’t condemn their allegations. Probably it might be playing double game with both parties.

Ex GM steals software code, arrested

  Boyina Venkata Ramana and M.N.S. Srinivas, who are working as software engineers in a Bangalore based company were arrested by the cybercrime cell of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on charges of stealing the patented source code and technological information from a Hyderabad based public limited company MIC, where they both worked earlier. CID officials based on the complaint lodged by the MIC Company, when investigated have found the software engineers have stolen the software code and relevant information from their former company and sold it to Bangalore based GG Tronics Private Limited claiming it has been developed by them. CID officials have seized laptops software CDs, pen drives from the software engineers.

AP NGOs declare four public meetings ahead

  AP NGOs, who successfully conducted Save Andhra Pradesh' meeting at Hyderabad are planning for four such meetings very soon. AP NGOs Union President P.Ashok Babu speaking to media at Hyderabad said “We are receiving phone calls from some Telangana areas asking us to conduct public meetings in their places. Definitely, we will think about these proposals. First we are planning to conduct a huge meeting at Vijayawada on 20th with one lakh people, then at Vizag on 21st, Hindupur on 23rd and finally at Kadapa on 24th of this month to make the Center realize our determination to fight out its decision of diving the state. We are planning to intensify our agitations until the Center revokes its decision. However, we will appropriately respond to High Court’s decision over our indefinite strike.”   “The 72 hours strike by Electrical employees should be an eye opener to the government, which is still ignoring our agitations. Despite facing severe problems with power disruption, people of the region have shown the same spirits to fight out the bifurcation decision of the Center. We thank the Electrical employees and the people for extending their support to our fight,” said Ashok babu.

Srishanth and Chavan clean bowled by BCCI

  Cricketers Sreeshanth and Ankeet Chowhan, who were found guilty in spot fixing scandal during 6th edition of IPL matches, have been banned by BCCI today. While, Srishanth and Chavan are banned for life, another cricketer Amit Singh has been banned for five years. Spinner Harmeet Singh has been warned but the board allowed him to play. Board will take up Ajit Chandila’s case later, said BCCI vice president Niranjan Shah.

Modi is PM candidate of BJP

BJP president Rajnath Singh has announced that Gujarat CM Narendra Modi will be party Prime Ministerial candidate. He made this announcement at New Delhi a short while ago, even before commencement of party Parliamentary Board meeting schedule for Friday evening.   However senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj has told the media that she is not aware of the meeting. Sushma and Advani are opposing Modi’s candidature since the beginning. However, BJP has decided to go ahead ignoring their objections. Modi will reach New Delhi today evening to attend the Parliamentary Board meeting, where the members will officially acknowledge party president’s announcement.

Delhi gang rapists sentenced to death

      delhi gang rape, nirbhaya case verdict: Nine months after the horrific gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in Delhi triggered nationwide outrage, a special court on Friday sentenced to death four convicts in the case. Akshay Thakur, Vinay Sharma, Mukesh Singh and Pawan Gupta - in the December 16, 2012 gangrape and murder of a 23-year-old physiotherapy student inside a private bus in Delhi have been sentenced to death by the Saket fast track trial court.   Immediately after the sentence was announced all convicts broke down in the court while there were celebrations among anti-rape protesters outside the Saket court complex. The death penalty has been awarded under Section 302 (murder) as the braveheart had died due to the injuries inflicted by the convicts. The judge Yogesh Khanna called it a rarest of rare case and said that looking at the gravity of the incident and inhuman torture, it is death penalty to all. "In these times when crime against women is on the rise courts cannot turn a blind eye towards such barbaric and gruesome crime. There cannot be any tolerance. This crime in every way falls within the rarest of rare category warranting a death sentence," said the judge

Mopidevi bail case to 16th

  Former minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana rao’s bail petition case has been adjourned to 16th of this month by the CBI court today. He has been arrested in connection with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets cases and staying in the jail for the last 15 months. During the last few months he has developed severe health problems and even once admitted in the hospital. Hence he is seeking bail on health grounds.
