Acid test for TDP

  TDP has quite a difficult task before it that needs immediate attention. It has to convince its Seemandhra leaders and MLAs to stick to party stand taken in favour of division of state and vote accordingly, when the Telangana bill is introduced in the Assembly very soon. Chandrababu had an initial round of talks with his Seemandhra leaders and said to be convinced them to stick to party stand. But, he is still afraid, whether they can withstand the pressures from the people or not. Although many of the leaders are ready to stick to party stand, they are unable to make-up their mind on their stand due to these pressures.   TDP is expecting Seemandhra Congress leaders may be calmed by their high command very soon, but they do not understand how to deal with YSR Congress party, which spear is heading with its newly adopted Samaikyandhra demand. So, if TDP high command fails to vote in favour of Telangana state formation, it is going to adversely affect its chances in Telangana region. If, it votes in its favour, then YSRCP is there to brand TDP as the Andhra traitor party. So, this will be an acid test for Chandrababu and to his leaders. If, TDP could overcome this problem then it can concentrate on other issues like upgrading itself to National party status etc.

PV Ranaga rao Passes away

PV Ranaga rao (75) the elder son of former Prime Minister of India was died on Thursday early morning at his house in Hyderabad due to heart attack. He was ailing with severe health problems since last few months. His funeral may take place today at Hyderabad.

TRS suspends Vijaya Shanthi

  TRS has suspended its MP Vijaya Shanthi from party for her anti-party activities. TRS Polit bureau, which met yesterday night at party head office Telangana Bhavan, has decided to suspend from her party, as she ignores the party suggestion of condemning the media reports about her plans to join Congress party. However, she will be served a show-cause notice seeking explanation for her anti-party activities. With this, it is to be understood that the reports about her joining into Congress are genuine. She may react on her suspension today.   Although, Vijaya Shanthi is always seen beside party president KCR, he has never let her take active part in party affairs. She has been remained just a dummy in the party all these years, despite elected as MP from Medak constituency. But, when KCR start eyeing her Medak seat to contest in the next elections, she has categorically stated she can’t offer it to any one and no one can separate her from constituency. Ever since, she has been trying to retain her seat, either by joining BJP or Congress party. According to reports, she got assurance from Congress high command recently for the same and so she is let the media report about her joining into Congress party.

Congress and TDP leading in 3rd phase

  Even in the 3rd phase of Panchayat elections, Congress and TDP are leading in 1st and 2nd places followed by YSRCP. Congress has bagged 540, TDP-455 and YSRCP-305, while TRS bags 97 seats. So far, TRS couldn’t open account in Nalgonda and wins only one seat in four each in Adilabad and Ranga Reddy districts. YSRCP also seems to be badly affected in Telangana with its change in stand. It could win only 15 seats and couldn’t open account in ranga Reddy, Medak and Nizamabad districts.

TDP Polit bureau meeting on Aug.2nd

  TDP, which is under tremendous pressures with the ongoing Seemandhra agitations is once again finds itself standing in the cross roads between Samaikyandhra and Telangana. So, it is holding the Polit bureau meeting on August 2nd at party head office at Hyderabad. Leaders of both regions will attend this crucial meeting, where they will discuss about the conflict situation that party is facing now in the changed political scenario and chalk out action plan to deal with the situation. The party has to plan on how to play a crucial role during bifurcation process without harming its political interests in both states. Since, TDP wishes to continue in both states it has to upgrade itself to national party status. So, the meeting will be very significant as far as TDP is concerned.

Final phase of Panchayat elections today

  The final phase of Panchayat elections has lost its glory with the historical announcement of creation of Telangana state made by Congress party yesterday. People across the state are much connected with the division of the state than the final phase of Panchayat elections to be held today. But, the state EC has made elaborate arrangements for smoothly conducting the elections. However, it has postponed polling in few Panchayats keeping in view of the unrest prevailed because of bifurcation announcement. However, elections for 5939 Panchayats will be held during this final phase. As usually, polling will be held between 7am and 1pm. Counting of votes starts at 2pm. Results will be declared as and when the counting of votes completes.   It is to be seen how the yesterday announcement made by Congress party is going to reflect on these elections.   All the newly elected Sarpanches, Dy. Sarpanches and ward members will take charge of their duties on August 2nd. With this, the two year long ruling of Panchayats by Special officers will come to an end.

UPA partners formally approves division of state

  In the just concluded UPA Co-ordination committee, the alliance partners have formally approved the Congress proposal of diving the state. Later, the Congress Core committee meeting will be held, to discuss the issues raised in the UPA co-ordination meeting. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana and Damodara Rajanarasimha are participating in this core committee meeting. Next, CWC meeting will be held at Sonia Gandhi’s residence, where the final decision will be taken. However, CWC meeting is just a formal meeting that is intended to approve the party decision.

UPA co-ordinate meeting begins

The crucial UPA co-ordination committee begins at Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh’s residence a short while ago. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Finance Minister Chidambaram,  Home minister Susheel Kumar Shinde, Ahmad Patel, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, Kamalnath, Amar Singh, Ahmad, Ajit Singh, Farook Abdulla, Sarad Pawar and few others are among the leaders, who are participating in the ongoing UPA co-ordination committee meeting. Kashmir CM Farook Abdulla, representing National Conference party has categorically stated that his party opposes creating of new states. However, he said it is up to Congress to decide whether to divide the state or not.   Ajit Singh, representing RL(D) has favored creating Telangana state. The UPA meeting is likely to conclude in half an hour so.    Just In: Co-ordinate meeting just conluded.

Latest updates on Bifurcation (3.18pm)

  According to some senior Seemandhra Ministers, Sonia Gandhi has told them that party has decided to create Telangana state and there is no turn around this time. However, she asked them not to take any hasty decisions believing some thing wrong went with the state. She has assured them to address all their fears and issues during bifurcation process.   Another report is that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has called upon BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and asked her party support for Telangana bill when introduced in the parliament. She has asserted him to convey the same to party high command and intimate the party decision in a couple of days.  

Kodela Shiva Prasad crosses party line

  Former minister and senior TDP leader Kodela Shiva Prasad has crossed the party lines by speaking in favour of Samaikyandhra. Addressing the media at his home town Guntur has stated “I oppose the Center’s decision of bifurcation of the state. The state should be remained United.”   This is going to embarrass the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, who ordered his party leaders not to speak to media on this issue, until party takes a final decision on how to react to Center’s decision. This may encourage others also to follow his path. If, it really happens then TDP also will land in crisis situation just like Congress and YSRCP is experiencing now.

Konda Surekha, KK and Jitta resigned

  As expected YSRCP leaders Konda Surekha, KK Mahendar Reddy, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy and Raj Talkur have resigned to party. They have announced this today at a press club at Somajiguda. They said they have left no stone unturned to firmly establish the party in Telangana. But, all their efforts have gone drain with just one decision taken by their party high command. They flayed Jagan and Vijayamma for betraying all these days with their stand of honoring Telangana people sentiments. They said YSRCP is purely working for Votes, Seats, Power and money. Konda Surekha has stated that she has sacrificed everything because of her respects for late YSR. But his son and wife have betrayed her in the last moment.

YSRCP office in Warangal closed, waran

  The sudden change in YSR Congress party stand opposing bifurcation has led to crisis in its T region. Whether it can gain political mileage in Seemandhra with its decision or not, it definitely lost its credibility in Telangana region with its change in stand. As a result KK Mahendar Reddy, party in-charge for three districts, Jittaa Balakrishna Reddy in-chare of 5 districts, several other senior leaders Konda Surekha her husband Konda Murali, K.Prathap Reddy, Raj Takur and their followers are ready to quit the party anytime. Before stepping down, it is learnt that they have decided to wind-up the party offices in their concerned districts. Hence, the party workers in Warangal have repainted their party office and locked it, hinting closure of the party in the district. Most probably, other offices in the region may have the same fate.   T-leaders of the party have sharply criticized the media statement given by the party high command, for not having a single word supporting Telangana formation. They have warned the party, if it indulges in anti-Telangana activities, it has face serious consequences. Now, it is just a matter of time to announce their resignations to party, with which the party business in Telangana region come to end.

Errabelli stirs new controversy in TDP

  TDP T-Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar rao has stirred a new controversy inside the party circles by announcing that he will becomes the first Chief Minister of the Telangana, when state is formed. Though, no one is sure about which party will win in the elections in the newly forming Telangana state, Dayakar rao has made an irrelevant statement.   This will definitely creates a wide gap between him and the rest in the party, as they may consider his statement as throwing challenge to them. His statement may trigger a new fight inside the party. Kalvakurthi MLA Jaipal Yadav also announces that he is also in the CM race. In such case, seniors like Motkupalli Narasimhulu, Revanth Reddy and many others in the party may also claim for the same. This will be nothing but inviting fresh troubles for the party. Currently, TDP has been facing acid test in Seemandhra region. It is under immense pressures from Samaikyandhra activists to go along with them, where as it has given a consent letter for bifurcation.

TRS in desperate state

  TRS, which was elbowed out of the Telangana process by the Congress party, has left with no option but to wait for its turn to strike back at Congress. So, TRS leaders, who had a meeting at K.Keshav rao’s residence yesterday has decided to wait and see for the Congress move on Telangana. They have decided to hit the roads, if the Congress forms ‘Rayala Telangana’ or in case if Seemandhra leaders claim any rights on Hyderabad.   TRS leaders have formally decided to allow the Center to make Hyderabad as combined capital for both states until the Andhra Pradesh state develops its own capital, but for only two years. KCR told his party leaders that they have to be on high alert to safe guard the interests of their new state or else they will be cheated by Seemandhra leaders. He said his party will play the watch dog role in the bifurcation process and raise banner, if find any injustice happens to Telangana state.   All these discussions clearly reveal how the Congress party has cleverly stripped off the possessiveness of TRS on Telangana issue and forced it to sit in the galleries, while it takes charge of the game. To be frank, TRS has now no role to play in the Telangana formation so, it is now talking about playing watch dog role during bifurcation process. Once, Congress declares Telangana state, then its Telangana leaders will definitely overpower the TRS and will take revenge on KCR, which gave them sleepless nights and made their lives miserable.

Did Keshav rao obliges Congress on T

  K. Keshav rao, the Secretary General of TRS party has claimed that his resignation to Congress has forced the party high command to seriously think upon Telangana issue. He said senior Congress leader Mukhul Wasnik has alerted the high command and made the party realize the seriousness of the matter, when he resigned. Then only the Congress high command jumped into action. K.Keshav rao told this to TRS leaders, who came to meet him at his residence yesterday to discuss the prevailing political situation. If so, what about the other two MPs Vivek and Manda Jagannadham, who also quits the Congress party demanding Telangana. Whether the agitations led by TRS and T-NGOs, sacrifices of more than 1000 students lives have no impact on the Congress party? Is Keshav rao’s resignation alone has made the things happen for Telangana?

Sabbam Hari blames TDP and YCP

  Even while the crisis continues in YSR Congress party with the departure of Konda Surekha and other Telangana leaders from party protesting change of party stand on Telangana issue, MP Sabbam Hari has blamed TDP and YSRCP for not taking a firm stand on the burning issue.   Sabbam Hari, the Congress MP from Anakapalli, who is known to be Jagan Mohan Reddy loyalist but still continuing as Congress MP and member speaking to the protesting students at Visakhapatnam said “So far, I couldn’t speak on this issue keeping in view of Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party stand. But, now the time has come to stand-up and fight for Samaikyandhra. Actually, this situation has arises because TDP and YSRCP have not made their stand clear. But, I wholeheartedly support for united state and strongly oppose any division of the state.”

Mulayam appreciates CM Kiran for opposing division

  JD (U) president Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is strongly opposing division of states, has categorically stated that his party will oppose the Telangana bill when introduced in the Parliament. He said it is not wise dividing the country into smaller states succumbing to local pressures. He said the way Chattish Garh, Uttarakhand and Jarkhand states are reeling under serious crisis after division are teaching good lessons. Yet, the Congress is going ahead without taking these facts into consideration. He said his UP state is enjoying full benefits of being biggest state in the country. He asked whether the Congress can dare to divide it. He is all praise to CM Kiran Kumar Reddy for his bold stand taken in favor of united state.   Apart from his arguments, the revival of Gorka Land agitations demanding for separate state from last three days, the protests in Seemandhra region against bifurcation of the state, former DGP Swaranjit Sen’s statement of possible spreading of Maoists from Chattish Garh to Telangana may leave their impact on Congress high command. If, it is succumbed to these pressures, then it is likely to form a 2nd SRC to overcome all these problems.

CWC and UPA Co-ordination meeting tomorrow

  Congress high command has again summoned CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, Dy CM Damodara and PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana to Delhi tomorrow. They were asked to make themselves available by tomorrow morning itself. So, they may leave for Delhi anytime before Monday evening. The latest information Congress high command has rescheduled its UPA co-ordination committee meeting to tomorrow at 4pm immediately followed by CWC meeting. So, once again we can call it a D day for the state tomorrow. If, CM is firm with his resignation, Congress may also announce his successor on tomorrow itself. For this Congress is said to be worked-out on few names like D.Srinivas, Damodara Rajanarasimha etc. but Congress is insisting Kiran Kumar Reddy to continue and preside the bifurcation process.

Replacing Kiran to create new problems for party

  In wake of wide spread reports about CM Kiran Kumar Reddy resignation, Minister TG Venkatesh’s media statement is acknowledging the same. He said that he believes CM may not continue any further if the Center has made-up its mind to divide the state. Then, obviously all the Seemandhra ministers also would like to quit and intensify their fight for Samaikyandhra.   This is a clear hint that, CM has already resigned but official not declared, otherwise, TG Venkatesh may not dare to make such statement before media. Even, CM or his office has not condemned his statement. So, we can assume that reports about his resignation are genuine and it is just a matter of time to make it official.   But, if, he is relieved from duties, then obviously it will elevate his image among the agitating Seemandhra leaders and may provoke them revolt against the party. More over, finding a suitable person who is acceptable to both regional leaders is also a complicated task for Congress. If, it tries to install anyone from Telangana, then Seemandhra leaders may fight him by tooth and nail. If, a person from Andhra region is installed in his chair, then Telangana leaders may protest. In such case, the only option left the center is to go for imposing President’s rule until the bifurcation process is completed.
