High Court nods for Allagadda bye-elections

High Court gave permission for conducting bye-elections for Allagadda Assembly constituency in Kurnool necessitated with the sudden death of Shoba Nagi Reddy. Actually she died in a road accident just ahead of polling, but the Elections Commission has kept her name in the list as nominations period was over. EC said that if the people vote for her, she will be declared as winner even though she is not alive and so people have voted to her. However, some people have filed a petition in the High Court challenging EC’s odd decision. Hence, High Court gives its nod to conduct bye-elections for this seat. If so, Congress and YSR Congress parties may jump into the rink and ruling TDP may stay away from these elections leaving the seat to YSR Congress party.
