Paritala Sriram to contest in elections?

On the eve of late Paritala Ravindra’s death ceremony, his widow Paritala Sunita a TDP MLA from Raptadu constituency in Anantapur and the party leaders in the district have paid rich tribute late Paritala Ravindra today at Venkatapuram where he was layed down to rest. Later speaking to media she said that if her party high command orders, her son Paritala Sriram is ready to contest in the forthcoming elections. On this occasion her family and the party members of the district have remebered his services to downtrodden and to the party.

Police case against Bellamkonda

Tollywood Singamala Ramesh, who once used to make big budget films starring the big heroes of the industry, has been arrested by police and facing severe charges for his faulty financial deals. Once again, yet another big producer from Tollywood Bellamkonda Suresh’s name surfaced for allegedly cheating a financier Radha Krishna. Failing to get refund of his Rs.1 crore finance given to the producer Bellamkonda, he has lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police today against the producer. He said despite several reminders the producer not only ignored to refund his money in full, but when personally approached he even manhandled him for asking the money. Police have filed a case against Bellamkonda Suresh for cheating, manhandling of the financier.

Rahul takes charge as Vice President

Rahul Gandhi who was elected as vice president of the party during the recent Chintan Shibir held at Jaipur had a rousing welcome by his party leaders at AICC office, when he arrived to party office for the first time after assuming new post. Several leaders of the party have lined up to greet him on the occasion. He said Congress alone provides a good platform for political reforms in the country.

Udhav elected as Shivsena Chief

Udhav Thakrey s/o late Bal Thakrey was unanimously elected as president of radical Shivsena on Wednesday. Later, his party has conducted a memorial day function of late Bal Thakrey at Lal bagh in Mumbai, where the party distributed knives toots women cadre for self protection against sexual assaults.

Rajnath Singh takes charge as BJP president

While, the unfortunate Nithin Gadkari was betrayed of his second term as he was bitten by Congress party, the same has come as blessing to 62 year old Rajnath Singh, who unexpectedly becomes the president of BJP with a unanimous vote. Rajnath also enjoys the backing of Sangh Pariwar and is acceptable for majority of party leaders. Hence, it was just a cake walk for him to become party president. However, there were troubles waiting in the backyard of his party, which demands an immediate attention by him. The BJP ruling government in Karnataka had a setback with two of its ministers quitting the party for joining Yedurappa’s newly launched party. Unless, the new-elect resolves this problem there is a threat of loosing the only one state in the south for BJP.

Varma Committee tables its report

The three member Committee headed by Justice Varma, which was appointed after the brutal incident of gang rape in New Delhi, for suggesting necessary amendments to the existing laws of the constitution that deal with sexual assault on the women in the country, has submitted its report one day before the deadline on Wednesday. Varma committee has suggested that the punishment in rape cases should be increased from present 3 years to 10 years. However, it rejects death penalty to the criminals in these cases. It suggests bringing down the present age limit of 18 to 16 years, so as no criminal could escape from charges for being juvenile despite committing serious offence like the Delhi gang rape case. Varma committee while thanking one and all who sent their valuable suggestions in this regard sharply criticizes the police departments of the country for not responding to its letters asking for their suggestions. Justice Varma said “Not even a single DSP in the country has bothered to respond to my letters.” While, praising the youth for its spontaneous response on the issue, Varma Committee flays Delhi Police Commissioner for failing to provide assurance for safety of the women in New Delhi. It also flays the Home Ministry for backing such a person who fails in his basic duties.

Center back steps on Telangana issue

Leaving the Telangana people and their leaders in a deep shock AICC member Gulam Nabi Azad has said that the Telangana process may need more time to resolve. Speaking to media at New Delhi, he said one shouldn’t assume one month means exactly 30days. He said, because of the seriousness of the issue one should be flexible with deadline. He said that they are trying hard and sincerely to resolve the problem as early as possible. He said that expecting an announcement on the exact date that is one January 28th is not correct, as it may take a week or two or even more to resolve the problem due to its complexity and sensitivity.

KCR missing!

During these last few days of Telangana course, which are considered to be very crucial for all the Telangana protagonists, TRS president K.Chandrashekar rao has all of a sudden disappears from the media and not seen uttering a word on the issue. His rivals say that he has lost confidence in Congress party of granting statehood to Telangana. So he is resting in his farm house before returning for a big fight with the Congress party and the government that he is planning to initiate after 28thof this month. But, his die-hard followers say otherwise. They believe that he is playing the game behind the screen. They said he is in constant touch with Congress high command over the hot line. According to his close aides he has been refusing to accept Hyderabad as common capital for both states. He turns down all other offers and said to be insisting for Telangana with Hyderabad capital. However, it would be rather better to accept the common capital proposal than loosing the opportunity of having Telangana state, argue pro Telangana persons.

DNA report on Telangana

Leading English news magazine DNA has published an article in its yesterday’s edition stating Home ministry opposes granting statehood to Telangana. It reports, that Home ministry express fears that carving of new state will encourage the separate state demands from all over the country, with which integrity of the country will be affected. It points out at the separate state demands of Bodoland in Assam, Kuchch Bihar and Gurkha land in West Bengal states as an example. It reports that a decision in favor of Telangana will leads to agitations in the country with same kind of demands, which can’t be controlled by the government. However, none from Home ministry has confirmed this reporting made by DNA nor condemned it until now.

Co-operative society elections soon

The co-operative societies’ elections of the state are going to take place soon after the center’s announcement on bifurcation of the state. Though, political parties are no way related to them, their followers are going to dominate the elections. Hence, it would be considered nothing less to any big election battle. The outcome of these elections will be a mini-referendum on the political parties. Hence, all the parties in the state leaves no stone unturned to win maximum societies in these elections. Elections for 2,949 co-operative societies in the state will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be conducted on January 31st and the second phase on February 4th. All the district collectors have issued elections notifications on Monday. The last date for nominations for the first phase is January 24th. Nominations scrutiny is on 25th and withdrawing of nominations on 26th. Counting will be completed on the same day of polling. For the second phase of elections, nominations will be accepted till January 28th. Scrutiny and withdrawals of nominations will be on 29th and 30th subsequently.

CM and son convicted 10years jail term

In a quite rarest case nation watches a former Chief Minister of the state and his son both convicted jail term. The Delhi court has convicted former Chief Minister of Haryana state Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay Chautala 10 years jail term for their involvement in teachers’ recruitment scam during Om’s tenure. The court also finds guilty with 54 others including top officials of the state in this case. However, it keeps the verdict reserves on the rest. According to reports, both the father and son are going to appeal in the High Court.

Jetmalani to take upon Gadkari

Electing the President for BJP had never been this much difficult as it is always used for a unanimous election leaving no space to dissidence. But, with Mahesh Jetmalani throwing his hat in the race against the present President of the party Nithin Gadkari, the party tumbled with its other senior leaders like Shatrughan Sinha, Jaswant Sinha, Yaswant Sinha, Ram Jetmalani too raising their voices against Nitin Gadkari leadership. They argue that facing elections with such a corrupted leadership will affect the party adversely. The only positive sign for Nithin is the strong support of Sangh Pariwar, which gives an edge over his dissidents in the party. When, his Purti Power Project scam has surfaced in the media, it is Jetmalanis, who first sharply react and shoots letter to party high command demanding Nithin to step down. Obviously, Jetmalanis who hates him by heart irks to see him again getting ready to renew his position in the party. Hence, Mahesh Jetmalani has decided to throw a challenge to him in the election. However, in the wake of Sangh Pariwar support, Jetmalanis can’t beat him in party presidential election. But, they were succeeded in grouping some seniors against him. Some seniors in the party are said to be proposed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s name for the party president post. Since the election will be conducted on Wednesday, there may be a chance for a change in political equations inside the party within the next few hours.

Nara Lokesh though said not to talk to media until his father Chandrababu Naidu completes his pada-yatra, now and then he is making remarks on his rival party leaders. Once again, he tweets that, soon after YSR Congress party honorary president YS Vijayamma had a meeting with President Pranab Mukharji on January 15th, AICC Member Vayalar Ravi hints of alliance with her party. Seemandhra leaders meeting with Shinde

Some Seemandhra Congress ministers, MLAs and MPs today gave a representation to home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde as a final attempt to convince the Center with their stand. Ministers Sailajanath, TG Venkatesh, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, former minister Gade Venkat Reddy including MP KVP Rama Chandra rao and some others have had a meeting with Shinde today for more than half an hour. They said he has carefully listen them but not given any assurances. Later, when they asked for appointment with Petroleum Minister Vayalar Ravi, he refused to meet them stating he has another appointment. Earlier, he bluntly told them not to pressurize him on this matter any further. He also made it clear that the decision has been already taken and do not wants to discuss on this particular subject any more. Yet, Seemandhra leaders tried to meet him on same issue and had a bitter experience.

Court grants permission to Dharmana prosecution

CBI court agreeing with the arguments of CBI has grants permission to prosecute Minister Dharmana Prasada rao and former minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana rao. The court issues summons to both asking them to appear before it on January 31st to face the prosecution by CBI. Indeed, it was a slap on Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s face, who rejects CBI’s plea for the same. Although, health minister DL Ravindra Reddy has objected giving cabinet insulation to Dharmana, Kiran Kumar Reddy goes ahead with his decision. But, he wore a black face when Governor Narasimhan has returned the file suggesting legal advice on his decision. The court’s decision will obviously force Kiran Kumar Reddy and Dharmana to abide by the resignation letter now. So far, both of they have not made any comments on court’s decision.

Rahul speech appealing but…

Rahul Gandhi after occupying No.2 place in the Congress party has made a soul searching and appealing speech during the last day of Chintan Shibir meeting held at Jaipur on Sunday. Amid big applauses and standing ovation by top brass of the party including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and party Chief Sonia Gandhi, he continued his soul searching speech very honestly. He talked about the indiscipline, corruption and lavish attitude of his party leaders. He talked about sharing power with common man and decentralization of power centers. There is no doubt that what ever he spoke in the meeting is an exact reflection of the young India. But, when we see the other side of the coin we find so many flaws with him. He stated that he had a gained enough experience during 8years of service to party. While privileged of being son of party Chief Sonia Gandhi and enjoys access to party high command, then why did he simply keep watching all these flaws in the system all these 8 years? Neither he nor his mother has bothered to respond to the allegations levied against his brother-in-law Robert Wadra by Aam Admi Party. He not even responds to the most discussed Lokpal Bill agitation launched by social activist Anna Hazare held at New Delhi in the last year. It dismays to hear him asking his party leaders not to be eager in claiming power to themselves, while he is strongly believes that he deserved to be appointed to the highest post in the party. While speaking about the principles, honesty and ethics he conveniently ignored about his party games played during Gujarat elections. He also forgot of sending his handpicked observers to the state, enquiring about the advantages and disadvantages of joining hands with YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is branded as corrupted by his own party. More over he has failed to disclose his strategy to tackle all those problems that he mentions in his speech. It is easier to talk about problems and ethics but resolving the problems and following the ethics when time comes is impossible, even to him.

The story behind Ayyanna’s resignation

Ayyannapatrudu, who was recently inducted into TDP politi bureau as member has resigned to his post and party today, protesting suspension of his follower Peela Srinivasa rao by the party high command for allegedly attacking another leader Bandaru Satyanarayana two days ago. Ayyannapatrudu was followed by his followers, who submit their resignation letters today. However, this incident has some backdrop which leads to these resignations. So far, Peela Srinivasa rao has been holding two posts as Vizag city party committee president and Vizag west party in-charge. But, recently he was stripped down of his posts and allotted to Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar and MLA Ganababu simultaneously. Both these leaders are followers of Bandaru Satyanarayana, who is indulged in a fight with Ayyannapatrudu group since last few years. Hence, Ayyanna vents his anger on the party high command for encouraging his rivals in the party.

YSRCP MLA Gurnatha Reddy resigns

Samaikyandhra movement takes its first toll with resignation of YSR Congress party leader Gurnatha Reddy. Today, Samaikyandhra protagonists have surrounded his house and forced him to resign to his MLA post for the cause. He is obliged to send his resignation letter to speaker Nadendla Manohar through fax today. They have also cornered TDP leader Payyavula Keshav, Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunita’s houses in Anantapur today and demands for their resignations in support of their cause.

TDP abide by its letter: Yanamala

While, the Seemandhra leaders of TDP gradually raising their voice against party decision of favoring Telangana formation, senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu responding to their reactions has said the party is still abide by the letter given to home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde during the all party meeting held on December 28th. He said the statements made by some Seemandhra leaders were their personal and they don’t reflect the party’s opinion. His statement is significant in the wake of confusion prevailed in the party soon after Seemandhra leaders hits the media demanding Samaikyandhra state. on the other hand it also clears the suspicions of TRS and T-JAC leaders, who allege the party of changing its stand in favor Samaikyandhra. However, Seemandhra Congress leaders, who had a meeting at Hyderabad recently have flayed TDP and gave a call to their cadre to block Chandrababu from entering the Seemandhra districts. Lagadapati also sharply criticized Chandrababu for changing his stand in favor Telangana.
