TSR initiates election battle with Purandeswari?

Even before the election bell rings in the state, the fight for Vizag parliament seat begins between MP T. Subbi Rami Reddy (TSR) and union Minister D.Purandeswari. Both claims on Vizag seat with different reasons. While, TSR claims that he has assurance from party high command (while contesting bye elections held in Nellore in the last year), Purandeswari asks why should she vacate her seat for others? TSR has suggested her to contest from Narasarao peta and leave Vizag seat to him. But, in an interview given to ABN news he rejected the reports. He said he has never asked her to shift to Narasarao Peta or some other constituency, but just said that he is seeking re-election from Vizag. However, he said it is up to party high command to decide to whom the Vizag seat to allot and he will obey the party order. However, he said he had some secret pact with party high command in this regard, which he can’t disclose to media. When asked about probability of mid-term polls, he said it depends on the SP and BSP parties’ decision. If they withdraw their support to the government mid-term polls are inevitable for UPA government, said TSR.

The inhuman approach of Sri Lankan army

A latest photo and video evidence that fall into hands of Indian Media has created uproar over the brutal killing of 12 year old boy Balachandran Prabhakaran s/o deceased LTTE Chief Prabhakaran. According to reports, during the final phase of military operation, the Sri Lankan armed forces have caught the boy sitting in a bunker without any weapons in hand. Then after the operation was over, he was seen lying dead on the ground. The two photographs taken by unknown sources probably by Sri Lankan solders have clearly shows that he was alive before they begin their operation and dead after completion, which proves he was brutally killed by them. However, Sri Lankan government refusing the allegations has stated he was killed during the cross fire and the photos circulating in the media were morphed ones. However, both the photos were taken with same camera and in hour duration. The boy was seen sitting alone in the bunker in the first photo and found dead with his chest pierced with bullets in the other photo. Come whatever Sri Lankan government explanation is, it is evident that its solders have brutally killed an innocent little boy, who has nothing do with LTTE activities. This strengthens the allegations being made by the political parties of the Tamilnadu state against Sri Lankan military and the government of their brutal masacare of innocent women, children and elderly people during their final wash-out miletary operation.

Scam replaced by another scam in UPA: BJP

UPA government, which has been at receiving end for surfacing series of scams during the last one year has again struck with Augusta Choppers scam, that involves Rs.320 crores bribes. Although, the UPA wore an innocent face in this case, the main opposition party BJP does not want to let it go off its hook. It demands for Joint parliamentary Committee for which UPA initially refused. But, unable to sustain the growing pressures finally UPA has agreed for a JPC inquiry into the case. Union Minister Kamalnath has announced this to media at New Delhi today. However, the frequency of scams surfacing in the ruling UPA government has reached to an alarming level. Each new scam replaces the older one from the probing list and finally ends up with scrapping the matter. The special committees, CBI investigations and their reports have virtually turned into a big farce, proved to be waste of time and public money as none of the activities could nab a single culprit in any of the cases until now. Whoever brought to book is roaming free availing bail facility. While, the opposition mainly grabs it to gain political mileage out of it, the media sticks to it until it finds another such hot topic of public interest. Hence, even the government is also understood and accustomed to this typical system and boldly faces the media and opposition without feeling any guilty. BJP leader Venkayya Naidu has said ever since the UPA takes charge of the country, there was no interval for scams. He said one scam replaces the older one.

YSRCP to drag Chandrababu to court?

Somayajulu, the once personal advisor of late YSR and presently associating Jagan Mohan Reddy has told the media that YSR Congress party has been carefully observing Chandrababu, who is making baseless allegations against YSR family members ever since he begins padayatra. He said Chandrababu seems to be under severe pressure and talking rubbish against YSR family members. Hence, YSRCP is thinking to file defamation case against him, to begin with the baseless allegations that he made against Brother Anil Kumar. He flays Chandrababu for making tall promises on waving off loans of farmers, while he did nothing to them during his regime.

Can Anna fight alone against corruption?

Social activist Anna Hazare, who is engaged in an endless fight against corruption, was dismayed to see very poor response to his meeting held at Hyderabad on Sunday evening. Hardly there were a thousand people attend his meeting out of which were his ‘India against Corruption’ forum members and some retired people. Hazare, who is used to draw huge crowds wherever he holds meetings, is shocked to see poor turnout at Hyderabad. Probably, it happens because due to lack of co-ordination between the organizers and lack of proper publicity about his meeting. However, it did not deter his confidence levels. He continues his speech with his usual confidence tone. He said even if could gather support of 6 crore out of 125 crore people of the country, he can complete his task. While, the grand old man of the country is rallying with his fight, the poor response from the people may discourage him from further touring down in the south. If, people ignore such movements then it will be nothing less of a patting for the ruling governments to go ahead with their corrupt practices like Auguesta helicopters’ scams. Unless people stand by social activists like him and Aravind Kejriwal, even they also can’t dare to raise the finger against the government. During the last five years of Congress ruling several scams have surfaced one after the other, but all of them suppressed during the course of time, only because people have lost interest in them. If, the ignorance continues further it will lead to a disaster in their lives. Hence, it is time for the people to at lest stand by the persons like Anna Hazare who are sparing his time to fight on their behalf.

EC Permits padayatras

Election Commission, which initially prohibited any padayatras between 19th and 21st in wake of MLC elections, when approached by TDP leaders allows Chandrababu to continue his padayatra in Guntur district, but clearly away from polling booths. Hence, it obviously clears way for Sharmila, who will begin her padayatra in the district from tomorrow onwards. Hence, Chandrababu will continue his padayatra as usually in the district.

Congress makes clean swipe in DCCB and DCMS polls

It’s again a triumph for ruling Congress party in the DCCB and DCMS elections. Except in Kammam district, it made a clean swipe in all most all the districts in the state. TDP which has won considerable societies in the elections lost to Congress party at DCCB and DCMS level. It could be able to make its presence only at Kammam district, with alliance with CPI. It had a set back in all places including its strong hold areas like Krishna, east and West Godavari districts. Congress has won total 136 DCCB posts and 25 DCCM posts. In addition to this, it pockets all the DCMS posts in Nizamabad, Prakasham, West Godavari districts. Congress, which is flying high with this victory, has announced that soon it is going to conduct Panachayat elections, as the Supreme Court gave clearance for the elections.

5 MPs Skip TDP Paliamentary meet

Taking the party chief Chandrababu Naidus frequent rebukes lightly, half of the party MPs skipped the parliamentary party meeting held at Tenali on Sunday.Curiously, the meeting was chaired by Naidu himself. Amidst speculation that general elections maybe advanced, the party chief summoned the TDP meeting to finalise the strategy for the Parliament budget sessions slated to begin next week.TDP has 11 members in both the Houses of which five abstained from Sunday's meeting. Although, the party leaders explained that the absentee MPs took the permission from the party supremo, analysts observed that it reflected on the weakness of the party leadership.In fact, three TDP MPs had created a flutter when they skipped the crucial voting on FDI in the Rajya Sabha only last December. Naidu exonerating the MPs, who deliberately skipped the voting on FDI in the parliament, seems to have given courage to even the first-time MPs to skip such an important meeting.Such lack of seriousness from both the sides is not doing any good to the party, that too at a time when several leaders were deserting the party, remarked a senior leader present at the meeting. He found fault with Naidu for not inculcating seriousness among such leaders in spite of taking up the padayatra facing all odds. At least two legislators and several key leaders from north-coastal joined the YSR Congress Party two days ago and many others are planning to meet Jagan in prison in next few weeks. In fact, Naidu himself had scolded the party leaders stating that it was not easy to regain the lost power in the state with just his hard work and asked them to reach out to the people on the lines of his padayatra. Meanwhile,TDP leader Nama Nageswara Rao and party leader in upper House Devender Goud told the media after the hour long session that they would raise the issues of chopper deal,rising prices and insufficient allocations to the state by the railway ministry in the next session. They demanded a probe into the role of brother Anil Kumar in the Agusta deal in the state.MPs Kanakalla Narayana,Ramesh Rathod,CM Ramesh and N Sivaprasad attended the meeting.

SC stayed death sentence of 4 Veerappan followers

The four followers of Veerappan, whose mercy petition has been rejected by the President Pranab Mukharji and were supposed to be hanged on Sunday morning had a temporary relief, as the Supreme Court has stayed their sentence in the last minute. The Belgaum Jail officials in Karnataka state, who were all set to execute the death punishment on Sunday morning, even gave them food of their choice fulfilling their last choice, a practice followed before executing the punishment. However, to their relief Supreme Court has stayed their sentence till further orders. It will take up their stay appeal petition on Tuesday. Earlier, when the lawyers of the convicted have approached the court, it refuses to accept their petition stating it has no confirmation about executing the orders. However, when it was officially confirmed by the jail officials, then the court has stayed their punishment. There was a highly emotional situation prevails in the jail as the suspense continues till today morning, while the four convicted hardly able to speak anything.

Chandrababu Demands CBI Probe Into Chopper Scam

Telugu Desam party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has demanded that the CBI should enquire into the VVIP helicopter scandal and asked the party MPs to raise the issue in the ensuing Budget sessions in Parliament. Mr. Naidu made these observations while addressing party MPs on Sunday while taking a break during the Vastunna Meekosam yatra in Guntur district. The meeting attended by MPs, Nama Nageswara Rao, C.M Ramesh, K. Narayana, Devender Goud etc pressed for an aggressive stand against the corruption and particularly target the Central and the State governments. Some of the MPs, M. Venugopala Reddy (Narsaraopet), Sujana Chowdary (RS) and Hari Krishna (RS) were conspicuous by their absence.

Akabar released from jail

Although, both Adilabad and Nizamabad courts are ready to release Majlis MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, the delay in surrendering his passport to Adilabad court and submitting two personal sureties worth Rs.70,000 each, have created tense moments for him, as both the courts’ closes at 1pm because of half day duty on Saturday. However, his lawyers some how managed to submit all the necessary documents and sureties just minutes before the closing hours of the court. He was asked not to repeat his hate speeches any further or else the court warns to cancel his bail. Hence, Akbaruddin was released from the jail, after spending more than a month behind the bars. He was greeted by large number of MIM party workers at the jail entrance. He is leaving for Hyderabad accompanied by his followers and party MLAs. The month long imprisonment might have taught him two lessons. 1. Never try again with hate speeches. 2. Never underestimate Congress party.

Brother! Why this business?

Senior Congress leader V.Hanumantha rao, who is one of the die-hard loyalist of Congress party and high command has come heavily on Sharmila and on her husband Brother Anil Kumar for bluffing the people with their speeches. He said “I wonder, after all what makes a religious preacher Brother Anil Kumar simulteneously run businesses as a director in several companies? Being a relegious guru he shouldn’t indulge in such affairs. His wife Sharmila has been telling the people that, if they elect Jagan he will bring back Rajanna Rajyam. I wonder how can people afford to elect them to power, who once robbed them like anything. Is, she offering the same Rajanna Rajyam, which destabilized the entire system and turned people’s lives miserable. While, robbing the people and the state, they are now promising to safeguard the people’s interest. How can people believe her words?”

Chandrababu to stage dharna on Monday

Chandrababu has warned Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy that if, he fails to release water in Sagar and Delta canals by Sunday evening, then he is going to sit for dharna at which ever place he reaches on Monday. He flayed CM for not releasing the water despite having 515ft level high reserve waters in Nagarjuna Sagar dam, where as during his regime has released even at 490ft level. He said his party leaders will approach him with a memorandum asking for the same. If, still he fails to release the water to both canals, then he will sit for a dharna on Monday. However, there was no response from CM or any one concerned in the government to Chandrababu’s ultimatum.

Babu to take a break in padayatra

Chandrababu Naidu, who was hurt in a small accident at Kolokalur in Guntur district on yesterday, has resumed his padayatra today. Though, he is not feeling well with his leg, he prefers to go ahead with his padayatra. Doctors, who examined him have found minor swelling on his right leg ankle joint, but opines negligible. However, they will conduct another test tonight. But, Chandrababu is forced to take a break from February 19th till 21st as the election code of conduct comes into effect during that period.

T-NGOs oppose AP NGO’s meeting at Hyd.

There was a time when all the NGOs of the state are used voice in chorus against the government to resolve their demands. Unfortunately, the Telangana issue has split them into two groups as T-NGO and AP NGO Associations. Both these groups’ share platforms with respective agitations and are now behaving like enemies. Today, the T-NGO Association has served strike notice to state government demanding for the implementation of 10th PRC for their wage revision. They also demands for converting their month long ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ period into leaves and to lift all the cases filed against some of them during the agitations. AP NGO Association also has declared that it is planning to hold a public meeting at Hyderabad with same demands. But, T-NGOs have asked their counterparts not to play any such ideas in the name of Association meetings, which they believe a conspiracy by Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal. T-NGOs will obstruct any such meetings. They also suggest them to seek housing plots in their native areas and not in Hyderabad. Responding to their suggestions, Gopal Reddy, president of AP NGO Association has said that no one can dictate terms to them and has right to stop them from holding meeting at Hyderabad. If there is any unrest city police will take care of it,” said Reddy.

Another wicket falls in TDP

While, TDP president Chandrababu is taking pains to revamp the party with his padayatra, his party MLAs and MLCs are migrating into YSR Congress party, though, its president YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy is in jail for the last 8 months. Yesterday TDP MLC Boddu Bhaskar Ramarao from East Godavari district has left the party and today it is Ichchapuram MLA Sai Raj’s turn to take plunge into YSRCP. He was accompanied by Kalamata Mohan rao, the ex TDP MLA from Patapatnam and his son Venkata Ramana. Added to this list is Anjaneya Raju, the TDP In-Charge of Bheemili, is also all set to bid good bye to the party soon after this first batch completes their joining process. Need not to say their followers also take the same path. Hence, it would be a big jolt in the ribs for TDP, which has already sustained one from the sudden death of one of its very powerful leader K.Erram Naidu. Sai Raj and K.Mohan rao are expected to complete the ritual of visiting Chanchalguda jail first and then the party honorary president YS.Vijayamma, before completing the process.

Defense Ministry asks Agusta to disclose names

The arrest of Giuseppe Orsi, Chairman of Finmeccanica Company by Italian government for his alleged bribes Rs.320 crores paid in India to procure the contract of supplying 12 Agusta Westland Helicopters, a big deal worth Rs.3,600 crores, has raised curtains for yet another big scam in the country. This was the second such scam surfaced after Wal Mart’s alleged kickback of Rs.120 crores to find its way into country. Hence, UPA government is at receiving end in this big scam. Succumbed to pressures by the opposition parties, Ministry of defense has wrote a letter to CEO of Agusta Westland to disclose the names of the persons who were involved in this scam or else threatens to take series of actions of cancellation of contract, recovery of payment, blacklisting and penal action can be taken against the vendors. Defense Minister AK Anthony has said that no one come how big he/she will be spared if found guilty in this case.

Jagan’s remand extended till 27th

Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has been jailed in connection with illegal assets cases 8months ago, is still unable to get bail. CBI court has extended his remand till 27th of February. The court also extends the remand for all others like Gali Janardhan Reddy, Sunil Reddy, Brahmananda Reddy, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, Ali Khan and others till 27th after conducting a video conference with them. However, Jagan’s lawyers have seriously opposed CBI’s arguments, which ask the court not to give bail to him. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s lawyers has asked the CBI still how many days it need to conclude its investigation in Jagan’s case. They argue it is inhuman to keep an accused for so many months without conducting a trail. Hence, the court orders CBI to submit a memo on the progress of its investigation in his cases.

Telangana is important than budget sessions:Ponnam

Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar, who is known to be a vociferous Telangana leader in the party, but takes a ‘U’ turn in the last minute of submitting their resignation letters to Sonia Gandhi and has been maintaining silence since last few weeks, has finally coming out of his shell breaks his silence yesterday. Speaking to media he said the Telangana Congress MPs will meet soon discuss about their strategy over attending the Parliament sessions. He said Telangana is more important than attending the budget sessions. Hence, a decision will be taken soon in their next meeting. He said it is home minister Shinde, who made the things complicated by announcing a deadline on his own after the all party meeting. If, he would have not committed then, the situation would be certainly not so tense like now. In addition to it, extending the deadline by party high command was also another mistake. Ponnam appears to be facing embarrassing situation for his turn around on resignations. Yet, he talks in a soft tone, while mentioning about party high command, which indicates that either he might have had a a good bashing or a firm assurance on Telangana from the party high command during his last visit to New New Delhi
