BJP opposes land acquisition for Bhogapuram airport

  Recently appointed Andhra Pradesh TDP President Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao slips his tongue on his very first encounter with Jagan Mohan Reddy. He criticized Jagan for staging dharna at Bhogapuram village in Vizianagaram district yesterday with fake farmers. He used a phrase ‘donga raithulu’ for stating ‘fake farmers’ while criticizing Jagan Mohan Reddy.   Obviously, YSR Congress party strongly objected him for saying farmers as thieves. Interestingly, TDP’s ally and its partner in the statement government also sharply reacted on his rude remarks made against farmers. BJP MLA Vishnu Vardhan Reddy objected him for saying so. He demands TDP president to withdraw his remarks immediately.   He also questioned the necessity of colleting 12, 000 acres land for constructing airport at Bhogapuram. He said no airport in the country was built in such a vast piece of land. Hence, he asks the government to reconsider its decision. His statement may make TDP very embarrassing as it can’t welcome or reject his suggestion at this stage. If it welcomes his suggestion and revokes its decision then Jagan Mohan Reddy will claim the credit for it. If stick to its decision its relations with BJP may be strained. Either way it has to pay some price for its decision.

Laloo justifies giving wrong information about his sons ages

  RJD Chief Laloo Prasad Yadav and his two sons have stirred a fresh controversy today. Laloo’s elder son Tej Prathap Yadav and his younger son Tejaswi Yadav both are contesting in the Bihar Assembly elections that commences from October 12th.   While the elder one is contesting from Mahua Assembly constituency in Vaishali district, the younger one is contesting from Raghopur Assembly constituency. They both submitted their nomination papers along with elections affidavits in which the elder one Tej Prathap mentioned his age as 25 years and the younger one as 26 years. It means the younger brother is bigger than elder brother as per their affidavits submitted to elections officers.   If, someone else is there in their place, certainly they may try to rectify the mistake before it is too late. But, Laloo Prasad Yadav and his two sons strongly defend themselves and arguing that they did not commit any mistakes. They argue that they exactly mentioned the same age that was mentioned in their voters cards. Laloo Prasad Yadav says he can’t help it. Tej Prathap Singh said he can’t give wrong information in the elections affidavit. So, mentioned the same that was in his voter card.   Being served as Chief Minister of the state, Laloo Prasad Yadav might know what happens if intentionally submit wrong information in the elections affidavit. The elections officer may reject their nominations and also can recommend the EC for further legal proceedings against them. But, Laloo and his two sons stick to their arguments. Let us hope election commission will take appropriate action against them.

Talasani matter not my subject: Governor

  Governor Narasimhan washes his hands off from Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s disqualification matter. Speaking to media at New Delhi he said “Of course, I have received many complaints seeking action against him. But, this matter is not in my court. It is in Speaker’s court. He has to take a decision on it. Hence, I may not be able to take any decision in this regard.”   This is first time he plainly spells his mind on this burning issue. So, it is understood that TDP and Congress leaders have wasted their time all these days for submitting number of memorandums to him on this matter. But, his statement can be considered as a message given to political parties that they need not to approach him in furture with the same type of complaints.   The high court also expressed same opinion in Talasani case. So, the only option left for TDP and Congress parties is to approach the Supreme Court. But, if it also doesn’t wants to interfere in this matter, then all political parties can adopt these unethical practice of letting other parties MLAs continue in their posts even after changing the parties, because there is no to question about it.

Jagan sings same song again

  YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy never tried to hide his desperate ambition to become Chief Minister of the state. He expresses it at every given occasion. Today also he revealed his strong ambition to rule the state. He visited Bhogapuram village where farmers are opposing the statement government’s proposal to construct airport on their farm lands. They plainly told the revenue officials that they do not want to handover their lands to government for airport construction. Hence, Jagan Mohan Reddy landed there to fight on behalf of them.   He educated the farmers about various airports in the country and their specifications and questioned the statement government wants to collect 12, 000 acres of land for constructing airport at Bhogapuram? He asked why the statement government wants to construct a new airport when the Airports Authority is ready to upgrade the existing airport at Visakhapatnam.   He said around 1000 acres of vacant lands that belong to government and Indian Navy is available beside the Visakhapatnam airport, which is sufficient for upgrading it. But Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is proposing this project at Bhogapuram merely to provide some benefit to ministers Ayyannapatrudu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and MP Avanthi Srinivas. Jagan alleges that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu makes sure their lands are spared from the land acquisition.   Finally, he concludes his speech stating that his party is coming into power after three years and assured to return their lands. Actually, he lands there to fight on behalf of them with the statement government. But he is suggesting them to give up their fight and handover their lands to government because he is going to return their lands when he becomes Chief Minister of the state. Is this what the farmers are expecting from him?

Revanth Reddy straight question to Chief Minister KCR

  Telangana TDP working president Revanth Reddy shoots a straight question to Chief Minister KCR. He asked whether Chief Minister KCR and his nephew T Harish Rao both want to run the Assembly as they wish as if it’s their play ground.   He asked Chief Minister KCR “Several times you proudly said that Telangana is a second richest state in the country. Then why are you not clearing crop loans even after 14 months in the power? Your government wouldn’t hesitate to call tenders worth Rs.40, 000 crore to provide works for Andhra contractors. But, you have no money to clear the crop loans to save our farmers? You have cheated the people of the state, especially our farmers. We will visit each and every village in the state to educate the farmers about your government’s double standards on this particular issue. We will not let you and your ministers step into villages if won’t clear the crop loans immediately,” warns Revanth Reddy.   Revanth Reddy’s demand for one time settlement of crop-loans can be justified in wake of Chief Minister KCR’s proud claims about Telangana being second richest state in the country. He often repeats this statement whenever his government increases the wages of its employees. Moreover, Telangana government proudly announces just yesterday that India Credit Rating Agency gave Telangana state ‘A’ grade for its sound financial condition. So, the opposition parties’ demand for one-time clearance of crop loans is quite justified. Chief Minister KCR should come out with a straight answer for opposition parties’ questions about why he is hesitating to clear the crop loans at a time.

Janareddy criticizes Chief Minister KCR

  K. Janareddy, the Congress floor leader in Telangana Assembly strongly criticized Chief Minister KCR for suspending all MLAs of opposition parties from the house for entire sessions.   He said “Chief Minister KCR has promised that he will wave off the crop loans, if his party voted to power. But he is now talking about rules and problems in implementing his promise. He pushed out the opposition parties from the house merely for asking him to implement his promise. KCR is behaving and ruling like a dictator but it is funny to see him speaking about upholding democratic values.”   “Our intention is not to halt the house proceedings but to insist the TRS government to resolve the farmers’ suicides problem in the state. We need not to learn the rules and regulations from him on how to behave in the Assembly. Chief Minister KCR should remember that people of the state are closely watching him and his government’s failures. They will teach him and his party a good lesson when time comes,” said K. Janareddy.

Pakistan’s reply on terrorism is revealing its stand

  Pakistan argued that India is trying to abscond from peace-talks between two countries taking excuse of terrorism. But, the incidents taking place at Handwara area in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir state right now are strengthening India’s arguments made in the United Nations on cross boarder-terrorism.   Four Indian soldiers were killed on Monday in a fierce gun battle with Jaish-e-Muhammad militants in Haphruda forest in Handwara area in Kupwara district. One militant was killed in a gun battle at Laolab area but rest of them managed to escape.   These militants intrusion into Indian Territory, underlines Pakistan’s role in encouraging terrorists against India. Hence, India argues that peace-talks can’t be held in this back drop of terrorist activities. So, it asks Pakistan to give-up terrorism if it wants to sit for peace talks with India. But, Pakistan blatantly replied that one day or the other day, India has to come for talks with Pakistan. It is like admitting that it doesn’t want to stop or discourage terrorists to go against India.

Telangana bandh on October 10th

  Telangana assembly Speaker Madhusudhanachary suspends 32 MLAs of TDP, BJP, Congress, CPI and CPM parties from the house for current monsoon sessions for disrupting house proceedings demanding discussion on the farmers’ suicides. They insist the TRS government to waive off entire crop loans in one time instead of clearing them in installments.   Chief Minister KCR ruled out their demand. Addressing the opposition parties’ members of the house, he said that they shouldn’t disrupt the house proceedings demanding the government to implement their demands which are not practical. He said opposition parties are trying to defame his government instead of giving constructive suggestions to resolve the farmers’ suicides problems.   Hence, all the MLAs of opposition parties surrounded the Speaker’s podium and start shouting slogans against the government. Assembly Affairs minister T Harish Rao moved the proposal and it was approved by Speaker immediately.   Soon after they were suspended fron the house, they have given a call for state-wide bandh on October 10th in protest against the suspension of opposition MLAs from the house.

Producer Edida Nageswara Rao passes away

  Veteran producer Edida Nageswara Rao ((81) passes away at Star Hospital, Hyderabad on Sunday. He was ailing with health problems since last few months. Although, he made only 10 films during his association with Tollywood from 1978 to 1992, each and every film produced by him was a Gem and reveals his rich taste for making classical films. He produced super hit classical movies Siri Siri Muvva, Tayaramma Banagarayya, Sankarabharanam, Seethakoka Chiluka, Sagara Sangamam, Sitaara, Swati Mutyam, Swarna Kamalam, Swayam Krushi and Aapadbandavudu.   He was born in Kottapeta of East Godavari district on 1934, April 24th. He was stage artist before entering the film industry. He joined the film industry as a dubbing artist. Later, he turned into producer and start making films under his Poornodaya Movie Creations. Most of his films were directed by veteran director K Vishwanath, who is also popular for making classical films.   His body will be kept Film Chamber Office at Film Nagar, Hyderabad for paying tributes by industry people and general public. His funerals will be conducted today evening at Hyderabad.

Astrologers raise objections on Muhurtham-12.45 pm

  AP government decided to lay foundation stone for its capital city Amaravati on October 22nd at 12.45 PM on the eve of Vijayadashami festival. Generally, people of the state believe that any work or project started on Vijayadashami day would become a grand success. So, many shops, new projects will be launched on that particular day all over the state. But, the timing of muhurtham-12.45 pm is drawing criticism from Astrologers and Vasthu specialists as well.   Generally, such programs should be completed before 12.00 noon and not after. Tallavajula Sriramakrishna Sarma of Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district, secretary of the Vasthu Vignana Parishad said “The government chooses Makara Lagna at 12.45 pm, which is danger to its stability. Instead, if it performs the same at Dhanur Lagna at 11.39 AM, it ensures stability and speedy growth for the state. The government should have fixed the muhurtham after consulting the Vasthu experts and Astrologers instead of taking opinion from an individual Astrologer.”   “There is no meaning in fixing muhurtham to suit Prime Minister’s schedule. Statement government should fix muhurtham that suits best for the state and not to suit Prime Minister’s schedule. One can’t fix a half a dozen muhurthams for one ceremony to suit anyone’s schedule. Whether he is Prime Minister or President of India, he should plan accordingly to attend the ceremony at the scheduled muhurtham and muhurtham should not be fixed to match his schedule. If fixed, then there is no necessary for fixing muhurtham at all. The ceremony can be performed whenever PM comes,” said another astrologer in the district.

DRDO at Kurnool, Navy Base at Vizag will be set up

  Andhra Pradesh government decided to allot 2, 720 acres near Orvakallu in Kurnool district for setting up missile testing project by DRDO and 1,965 acres of land to build naval base at S. Rayavaram village in Visakhapatnam district.   It may not be any difficult for it to collect land in Kurnool district because there are not enough irrigation water sources for growing crops. But, in case of Rayavaram there is plenty of water facility for growing crops. It is also a very fertile land where sugar cane vegetables etc are grown round the year. So, statement government may face stiff resistance from the farmers at Rayavaram when it approaches them for land acquisition.   It is already facing strong resistance from farmers Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, where it proposes to set up airport. Indeed, development activities demands huge piece of lands, but the government has to avoid choosing fertile lands for its projects otherwise it would earn its anti-farmers’ tag again, which may badly affect it in the next elections even though it develops the state.

Venkaiah Naidu speaks on special status again

  Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu switched off his statements on special status since last few months after it back fires at him when Centre takes ‘U’ turn on it. He was severely criticized for it by the opposition parties in the state. But, he once again speaks about it during his visit to Nellore yesterday.   He said “Special status matter is under consideration of Neeti Ayog. However, we should understand that special status alone will not be answer for all our problems. Our government is ready to help the state to develop much better than it could develop with special status. India alone withstands the shocks of global financial crunches and making a steady progress because our economical and financial policies are very strong. So, we have to do team work from Panchayat level to Centre to maintain that pace in development of our country.”   The timing of his statement on special status is very much helpful to opposition parties, which are desperately trying to woo the people of the state, who appear to be gradually losing interest in it. Especially, the timing may proved very deadly when Jagan Mohan Reddy who is troubling to gather public support for his hunger strike for special status to be started from October 7th at Guntur. Venkaiah Naidu’s statement about special status under Neeti Ayog consideration and the views he express on it may provide enough ammo for YSR Congress party to provoke the people of the state.

Foundation stone for Vijayawada Metro likely in January

  Vijayawada Metro Rail Project works are likely to commence from January 2016. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is going to construct two corridors in the city. One is MG Road corridor and the other is Carl Marks Road corridor. Foundation stone for MG Road corridor will be laid near Swaraj Maidan bus stop in the first week of January, 2016. DMRC Chief E Sreedharan will meet AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and hand over the land plan documents of these two corridors. Once, the revenue department completes the land collection process then DMRC will begin it works.   DMRC has already called tenders for corridor-2 works. It will announce the name of the successful bidder on November 20th. It is going to invite tenders for corridor-1 works also soon. DMRC sets December 2017 as deadline for commissioning the corridor-2. It plans to run the Metro trains in this corridor from March 2018. DMRC is also proposing 3 property development projects in the corridor-2. It plans to construct additional floors at PNBS Metro Station, Railway Station and Nidamaanooru Metro Stations, each with an estimated cost of Rs. 5 crore for using commercial purposes. This idea is to ensure sufficient income is generated to make this Metro Project viable.

Rs.3, 770 crore collected from black money holders

  The Union Finance Ministry announced that it has received an amount of Rs. 3, 770 crore from 638 declarations under the one-time black money compliance scheme announced by Government of India on July 1, 2015 that ends on yesterday mid-night. It is the amount received in the form of 30% tax and another 30% fine levied on the black money declared by 638 holders. However, these figures are subject to change during final reconciliation. There was sudden rush of black money account holders seen on Wednesday at Income Tax counters specifically arranged for this purpose as yesterday was the last day for paying penalties on the black money.  Black money account holders may have used this one-time compliance scheme after sniffing troubles from the Modi government.   Government of India may start taking stringent actions against those persons whose names were listed by SIT earlier for undisclosing their black money. Modi Government may use the amended act of Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets, Imposition of Tax act, 2015 against them.

Kavitha ignores TDP leaders in TRS while criticizing TDP

  Nizamabad MP Kavitha, who attends a party program held at Warngal yesterday, sharply reacts on Revanth Reddy appointment as TDP working president for Telangana state.   She said “It is unfortunate to see Chandrababu Naidu appointing Revanth Reddy as party working president, who was caught red hand in note-for-vote case and is facing charges as A-1 accused in the case. Earlier, TDP used to be Telangana traitors party and now it turns into thieves’ party.”   But, she conveniently ignores the number of TDP MLAs and leaders joined her TRS party during last 14 months, who are still continuing as TDP MLAs. If she believes TDP is traitors and thieves party, then her father KCR shouldn’t give admission to Tummala, Kadiyam, Talasani, and Teegala and may others, who were in TDP until last year. None of them take part in Telangana agitations and all of them have been criticizing TRS party till they join it. But, they are now enjoying key posts in the government while the TRS leaders who strived hard for Telangana state formation are ignored.   If, Revanth Reddy is to be blamed then TRS is also to be blamed for tapping of neighbor state Chief Minister, ministers and officials telephones. The root cause of vote-for- note case is TRS clinching TDP MLAs. So, she can’t blame TDP alone for everything. TRS is equally responsible and equally committed mistakes.  

Jagan meets Governor Narasimhan

  YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy meets Governor Narasimhan on Thursday. Though, the purpose of his visit to Raj Bhavan is not spelled yet, it may be for informing him about his proposed deeksha and request him to order the statement government of Andhra Pradesh not to create any hurdles for his proposed indefinite hunger strike rescheduled for October 7th.   Actually, his party leaders told the media that they will approach the high court for the same but Jagan Mohan Reddy approaches Governor instead. But, the government made it clear that it will not interfere in his deeksha if conducted away from the highly crowded market places in the city. YSR Congress party leaders zeroed upon Hanuman Nagar near Nallapadu Road in Guntur for his proposed deeksha. They also applied for police permission and police are also likely to consider their request this time. That’s why, YSR Congress party leaders have started making arrangements for his deeksha at the venue. In this context, there is no meaning in requesting the Governor for permission, other than drawing the media attention for his meeting with Governor.

Nirbhaya juvenile interacts with Jihadi Juvenile

  Intelligence sleuths alerted the Juvenile Justice Board and the Union Home Ministry about interaction between two juveniles kept at Juvenile special home at Magazine Road near Majnu Ka Tila in North Delhi. One is detained in Nirbhaya case and the other is in Delhi High Court bomb blasts case.   Intelligence sleuths observed that the juvenile facing punishment in bomb blasts case is trying to draw the other into Jihadi fold during their interaction. They both turned 20 now and the one who was serving his 3 years term in Nirbhaya case will be released from juvenile home in December this year. Hence, the intelligence sleuths suspects that he may turn into a trouble maker for the country if allowed to remain under influence of other juvenile in the home. Following the instructions from higher officials, the care -takers of the juvenile home shifted them to different rooms in the same house.   But, this development is underlining a point that the juvenile home care-takers failed to bring any change in the juveniles’ criminal attitudes for which they were kept in their observation. Juvenile Board spends crores of rupees for providing education, medical, counseling and rehabilitation for juveniles to make sure they join the main stream after their release from the home.   But, after serving 34 months in the juvenile home, the juvenile convicted in heinous Nirbhaya crime was found got attracted to Jihadi movement instead of turning into a decent citizen. This is indeed a failure and negligence of the care-takers of the juvenile home. They even failed to notice their interaction and their idea behind it. The juvenile takers to be blamed in case if the juvenile releasing from home in December this year if creates any big problems for the country.

TDP set up its head office in Vijayawada

  TDP that has been operating from NTR Trust Bhavan at Hyderabad until now will operate from its new head office at Labbipeta in Vijayawada from now onwards. It was used as the party head office of Krishna district. TDP decides to operate from this new office as its national president Chandrababu Naidu is running the government from Vijayawada. The existing head office at Hyderabad will be used as head office of Telangana TDP.   The newly appointed TDP-AP President Kala Venkat Rao and general secretary Nara Lokesh inspected their new office at Vijayawada yesterday. Hence, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s office and TDP head office now become functional from Vijayawada.   AP Government took luxurious villas and flats in Rain Tree Park at Vijayawada on lease to accommodate Ministers, IAS, IPS officials and their offices. Government is expecting to shift all its offices and employees from Hyderabad to Vijayawada before end of this year.   These two developments may strengthen the TDP hold and spread it strong influence on Krishna, Guntur, East and West Godavari districts.

India gives fitting reply to Pakistan

  Unlike earlier times, India is strongly reacting to Pakistan’s allegations after Narendra Modi takes charge of the government as Prime Minister. There is visible change in India’s attitude towards Pakistan. India that has been adopted defensive policy during all these decades now switches to offensive mode. It can be seen in the fitting reply given to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s suggestions for resolving Kashmir issue during his speech at United Nations.   He proposed four suggestions to India to resolve this burning issue. 1. De-militarizing Kashmir. 2. De-militarizing Siyachin. 3. Strictly implementing seize-fire agreement. 4. Avoid threatening each other.   India sharply reacts to his proposals. Vikas Swarup, the official spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs tweets,   “To de-militarize Kashmir is not the answer, to de-terrorize Pakistan is.” “Pakistan's instability arises from its breeding of terrorists. Blaming neighbors is not a solution.” “Pakistan is not primary victim of terrorism but of its own policies. It is in fact the prime sponsor of terrorism.” “Sharif UNGA speech: Pak PM gets foreign occupation right, occupier wrong. We urge early vacation of Pak occupied Kashmir.” “Pakistan is not primary victim of terrorism but of its own policies. We urge early vacation of Pak occupied Kashmir.”   MEA spokesperson doesn’t maintain any hypocrisy in expressing India’s views on Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif’s proposals. Never like before, India is stating that it is Pakistan that occupies part of Kashmir state and demanding it to vacate it immediately. India is also now plainly saying that Pakistan is sponsoring the terrorism and it is the root cause for its backwardness and unrest in Pakistan.
