YSR Congress party

In between, Jagan is sitting for one day deeksha

It seems YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy couldn’t stop himself from doing deekshas once in a month for one reason or the other. But, it makes the people even his party leader suspect that whether he is really doing hunger strikes for particular cause or as an effort to keep tab on his weight control.   During last 14 months he sat for hunger strikes several times with one or two days’ duration. However, none of his deekshas has served their purpose. He was prepared for an indefinite hunger strike at Guntur demanding special status to the AP state, but postponed it after police denied permission. Then, his party leaders have stated that they will wait until the high court gives it nod for it, but within hours they changed their minds and announced that Jagan Mohan Reddy will be sitting for indefinite hunger strike from October 6th on wards.   In between, Jagan Mohan Reddy is sitting for one day hunger strike at Tanguturu in Prakasham district on 30th September in protest against statement government’s negligence towards tobacco farmers. He will sit for one day deeksha at Tanguturu after visiting families of tobacco farmers, who commit suicides recently.   He might be aware that, Union Minister for Commerce, Nirmala Sitaraman met those tobacco farmers’ families and also tobacco farmers recently and assured them full support on behalf of Government of India. She explained to them about various measures that she took and going to take to resolve their problems. She appealed the tobacco farmers not to commit suicides and promised timely help to tobacco farmers from government of India. But, Jagan Mohan Reddy is sitting for one day deeksha blaming the statement government.

Kishan Reddy

Is it wise to welcome Chiranjeevi into BJP?

If reports are to be believed, Chiranjeevi is likely to quit Congress party and join BJP. The reason is party vice-president Rahul Gandhi scolded him for concentrating his attention on his 150 movie while leaving the party in the state to its fate. However, Chiranjeevi has not spelled his mind until now about changing the party. Media may be guiding him into BJP.   But, BJP Telangana state President Kishan Reddy swiftly reacts to the media reports. He said “BJP will welcome him if he is really keen to join us. A person of his caliber would be an asset for any party. If he joins us our party will become stronger and we can utilize his services for our party.”   Whether or not the media reports are genuine, if Chiranjeevi is planning to leave his party he would be betraying it that gives him a new life and great honor in the politics. He enjoyed and stick to it as long as it was in power and distances from it when its situation turns miserable. He is focusing his full attention on his 150th movie while his party is struggling to stay afloat in the state.   Actually, this is the time that he should focus his full attention on his party and put hard and sincere efforts to save it. His tremendous influence would do miracles for the party, if he is really keen to use it for it. But, being a self-centered person, Chiranjeevi thinks about his own future and returns to film industry. Hence, he need not to be upset if Rahul Gandhi reminds his duties. But, if reports are to be believed he took it as a nice excuse to jump out of the sinking Congress ship.   If, Kishan Reddy sees nothing wrong in his attitude, certainly he can roll out red carpet for Chiranjeevi, but should not expect him to be grateful to the party or his services to the party.

Centre

Centre grants Rs.1100 crores to the state

Union Minister Sujana Chowdary said that the Centre has released Rs. 400 crores for Polavaram Project, Rs.350 crores the development of backward districts in the North Coastal AP and Rayalaseema regions and another Rs.350 crores for the Capital city Amaravati construction. He said that the Centre has granted Rs. 1850 crores to the AP state that is Rs.350 crores higher than the amounts granted to the three states formed few years ago. He said the Centre has assured to grant more funds to the state based on the progress of various development and construction activities. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to grace the foundation laying function of the Capital city on October 22nd.   Sujana Chowdary is trying to project this as if it is a very amount and thus convince the people of the state, especially the opposition parties that are drawing swords on the statement government for not insisting for special status to the Andhra Pradesh state. However, the opposition parties may spit at him for the same.   Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted Rs. 1.25 lakh crore financial package to Bihar state and an addition of Rs. 40, 000 crore for infrastructure development in the state. In this context any big amount less than it will be treated as mere bait to cool them. Sujana Chowdary has made this announcement about small financial package just one day before Jagan Mohan Reddy’ hunger strike commencement hoping it will defuse his program. But, his announcement about this package is providing a strong point to Jagan Mohan Reddy to strengthen his demand for special status to the state. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has asked the Centre to grant Rs. 1.25 lakh crores to the state for its all round development but the Centre has granted just Rs. 1100 crores. So, YSR Congress party may intensify its fights for special status.
