  • Having drugs in Canada is now legal

Canada’s senate has yesterday legalised the use of marijuana for recreational purpose. It’s been the first times since 90 years that the country has lifted ban on the drug. Canada is probably the first major country to give such free hand for using marijuana. You might fear that this ban is going to create havoc in the nation and let the devil have a free run. But Canadian senators think otherwise- “It's been too easy for our kids to get marijuana - and for criminals to reap the profits. Today, we change that. Our plan to legalize & regulate marijuana just passed the Senate,” said the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a tweet. With the news of Canada making marijuana legal, billions of dollars began to pour into the country to invest in the drug business.

    Governor rule in Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir is going to face yet another governor’s rule. Earlier the BJP has pulled out of its alliance with PDP leaving the government to fall into minority. After the partition with BJP, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has submitted her resignation to the governor. All the parties including BJP, Congress, PDP and National conference has show disinterest in forming a new government. Governor N.N. Vohra was left with no option except to recommend for a governor rule.

Rahul targets both Modi and Kejriwal

In an unusual move, Rahul Gandhi has targeted both PM Modi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for the impasse in Delhi. Readers are already aware that Arvind Kejriwal has been staging dharna in Lieutenant Governor’s office protesting the non co-operation of civil servants. Four chief ministers including Chandrababu Naidu has even requested Modi to resolve the issue. After a long silence Rahul has now blamed both BJP and AAP for the problem in Delhi. Delhi CM, sitting in Dharna at LG office. `BJP sitting in Dharna at CM residence. Delhi bureaucrats addressing press conferences. PM turns a blind eye to the anarchy; rather nudges chaos & disorder. People of Delhi are the victims, as this drama plays out.’ came the tweet from him yesterday. Probably he is thinking to regain the Delhi back which was once a stronghold of congress party.

A mother slams at Anushka and Kohli

Publicity is a double edge knife. It could raise you into skies or throw you on the dust. Anushka and Virat have recently learnt the lesson in a hard way. Recently Virat has posted a video of Anushka giving lecture about cleanliness to a passerby. However, their act has back fired. The innocent looking stranger (Arhhan Singh) gave a befitting reply to the tweet of Virat requesting them for a little `etiquette and politeness’. Not it’s the turn of his mother to defend her kid- "You both posted a video for your fans n followers by violating basic rights to privacy and you shamed my son in the video as well in your post content. You both may be who you are in your fields, with millions of followers and all the PR backing you... you may be paid for your campaigning or maybe doing it for sheer publicity... As a mother, I would like to state that you have not only shamed my son on social media by not blurring his face, but you've also exposed him to unwanted hostility and danger from fanatics for such a small thing that you claim he has done but have no proof of anyways. I am concerned about my son's safety!" was her say on Instagram. However as usually, the social media was divided on the issue.

Airtel in a Hindu- Muslim row

The most prestigious telecom provider has stuck up in a religious debate due to a foolish decision by its team. It all started when a customer named Pooja Singh approached the company’s DTH service. Her complaint was attended by a Muslim named Shoaib. However Pooja was not happy with his religion. "Dear Shoaib, as you are a Muslim and I have no faith in your work ethics because Kuran (sic) may have different version for customer service, thus requesting you to assign a Hindu representative for my request. Thanks," was her reply. Instead of standing by the side of employee, Airtel ducked itself by assigning a Hindu representative as per Pooja’s interest. This has of course gone viral and people began pledging of never using Airtel services again. It took five hours for the Airtel to realise the mistake and set their norms. A tweet has been made by the company that it won’t oblige with Pooja’s desire- "Dear Pooja, at Airtel, we absolutely do not differentiate between customers, employees and partners on the basis of caste or religion. We would urge you to do the same. Both Shoaib and Gaganjot are part of our customer resolution team. If any customer contacts us for an ongoing service issue then the first available service executive responds in the interest of time. On your query, we will get back to you as soon as there is an update. Thanks -- Himanshu, Airtel Response Team Lead" said the tweet. But the damage has been done!!!

High Court serious on Arvind Kejriwal

The Delhi High Court has raised serious objections over Kejriwal’s dharna inside the office of Lieutenant Governor.  “If it is a strike or dharna, it has to be somewhere else. This can’t be called a strike. You cannot go inside someone’s office or house and hold a strike,” commented the bench. Delhi chief minister Kejriwal and his associate ministers have been protesting about the non co-operation of the civil servants. However the IAS association has declared that they were never on strike and were fully co-operating with the ministers. A case has been filed before the court to declare the dharna of Kejriwal as unconstitutional. Further hearing will be held on Friday this week.

In a nation where you have to beg people for granting your Passport and Visa, rich do get them easily. Guess how!!!

Trade war between India and US

Everyone in this world is aware of Trump’s numbness towards Indian diaspora. Last march, Trump has signed an order imposing 25% tax on steel and 10% tax on aluminum imports from India. US government has denied repeated request from the Indian officials to re consider the decision. Now that there is no hope left regarding the reduction of tariff, Indian government has decided to hit back. It has removed concessions on items such as chickpeas, lentils, almonds and apples. This might result in a duty increase of more than 200 million dollars.
