      Our leaders might be smashing the eardrums of the countrymen with Acche Din. But reality is something different. According to a Lancet study, India stands in 145th position among 195 nations. Interestingly our neighbours like China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan were far ahead of India. The five countries with the highest levels of healthcare access and quality in were Iceland, Norway, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Finland and Australia.

    Petrol price will come down in 3 days

      Feeling the fury of the common man over ever increasing petrol prices, government seems to be considering to give some relief to the nation. BJP president Amit Shah has yesterday hinted that the petrol prices would be coming down soon. “The government is seriously looking into the issue. On Wednesday Petroleum Minister (Dharmendra Pradhan) is meeting with heads of petroleum companies. I am hopeful that something will happen in 3-4 days,” he said.

    10 killed in police firing

      Tamilnadu has yesterday witnessed a bloody situation when ten people were killed in police firing. The police had fired guns on the protestors who were demanding the closure of a company named Sterlite Copper in the city of Thoothukudi. Locals alleged that the company was responsible for spoiling the water and air around its premises. Yesterday, the protests have reached news heights marking the 100th day. The protestors tried to enter the Thoothukudi Collectorate and the police had to fire resulting in 10 casualties and injuries to more than 60 people.

    Cricketer’s wife beaten by constable

      Indian cricket fans might be aware of the name Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja has been a revelation to Indian cricket team who has proven his talent with numerous achievements. He is playing for Chennai Super Kings in the on going IPL season. But that is not the news. His wife Reeva has been allegedly assaulted by a constable. The incident occurred Jamnagar when Reeva's car allegedly hit the motorcycle of the constable who has then furiously attacked her. The higher officials of the police department has immediately slapped a case against the constable as the news began to gain momentum.

    No non-veg food in railways!

      Consider that you have boarded a train on October 2nd and has ordered a full meal. Chances are that you won’t be receiving any non veg dish from the catering department. The railways are mulling over the proposal to ban all kinds of non veg dishes for three consecutive years on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi. Gandhi has been strong opponent of non vegetarian food and liquor. Further A special train, called Swachchhata Express, will also run linking places related to Mahatma Gandhi.

    Ramzan fasting can be dangerous – Minister

      Well, the whole world might be observing the month of Ramzan. The muslims of course would be going through their fasting rituals. But a central minister of Denmark has made some unusual comments over the ritual. The Immigration Minister Inger Stojberg has called for breaking the rule claiming it to be having adverse affects on the work. She has even gone further to question the validity of 1400 years old ritual in the present day market situation. Her remarks has of course been making stir in the international media.

    Girl killed for asking salary

      She was just 15 years and she has come a long way from Jharkhand to Delhi for a job. But what she has received in return is heart wrenching. She has been employed as full time maid in the house of a businessman. Though her employer has been paying her salary regularly, brokers who brought her pocketed the salary for three long years. Not a single penny has been paid to her. When the girl asked to repay her arrears, she was chopped into pieces and disposed off in a drain.

    Rare and deadly virus kills 11 people

      A rare virus named `Nipah virus’ has been killing people in Kerala. The state was in the grip of panic after 11 people were killed by the virus. Though the virus normally affects the domestic animals like pigs and cats... even human being could be the target. Nipah virus is considered to be dangerous as it has a mortality rate of more than 50 percent. State has been kept on high alert after the break and event he central governments immediate assistance has been sought.

    450 percent increase in bank losses

      Everyone knows that the public sector banks in India are not doing well. But, it’s interesting to find that even the private banks are getting unstable. In the last five years private banks have accumulated bad loans, with 450 per cent rise in gross Non-Performing Assets. The NPA during 2013-14 financial year was 19,800 crore. If you think that the figure is too high, then check this out... the pvt sector banks has registered Rs 109,076 crore NPA`s by the the end of March 2018. Interestingly the ICICI which is the major player in private sector topped the list with  54,063 cr.

    Will put you under bulldozers- Gadkari

      Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkar has seriously warned the contractors that they will find themselves under bulldozers instead of crushed stones. The minister has been obviously hinting at the corruption in public sector constructions. He has been making the above statements in a town called Betul in Madhya Pradesh. Gadkari has assured that government has enough funds to make build infrastructure. He further reminded that the money does not belong to contractors but the poor of this country.

    100 people killed in plane crash – CUBA

      In a heart wrenching accident, 100 people are feared dead in a plane crash at Cuba. The plane has been traveling from the Cuban capital- Havana. It was destined to reach Holguin, a city in eastern Cuba. Fortunately three people who were seriously injured could be rescued from the wreckage. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. However the plane was said to be built in 1979, which makes it a very old one that’s working for a long time.

    10 killed in gunfire – US

      In an yet another shooting spree, a teenager has opened fire in a school killing 10 people. The culprit was also identified as high school student. He has used a shotgun and a revolver that were owned by his father. However the reason for his desperate action is unknown. Nine students and one teacher were dead in the incident and ten other students were injured. Unfortunately, this is the third school shooting in the past week, and the 22nd since the beginning of the year in US.

    Karnataka MLAs camp in Hyderabad

      The high voltage drama of Karnataka has shifted to our own Hyderabad. The MLA`s of JD(s) and Congress has decided to stay in hotel Park Hyatt in the city still the conflict resolves. The leaders of Congress and JD(S) has shifted their members to the camp in order to avoid them slipping away. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is going to hear the petition questioning the validity of Karnataka Governor to call upon Yeddyurappa to enthrone the CM seat even though he doesn’t have enough members to validate his position.

    Two Indians arrested for fraud in US

      Parmjit "Paul" Parmar and Ravi Chivukula were charged with a fraud of 200 million dollars. According to a case complaint filed by FBI, they have defrauded a private investment firm through false investment. Later, they used transferred money to their personal accounts. Though the case is personal in nature, it is feared to have wide influence on Indian diaspora in US. This case would certainly worse the faith on Indians.... who were already facing huge restrictions in the regime of Trump.

    Indore is India’s cleanest city- WHY?

      The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has declared Indore as cleanest city among 4,203 urban local bodies in the country. This is the second time in a row that Indore has grabbed the prominent place. But there are enough reasons for Indore to stay at the position. Fines are charged on anyone who spits, litters or urinates openly. Every vehicle is given a mobile dustbin to keep the trash within the vehicle. 1000 rag pickers were employed to segregate dry waste. Recycling units were set up in areas such as gardens, function halls and hotels. Compost pits were built near the markets. With all such measures, you can easily validate Indore to be at the first position.

    Samsung Ad insults iPhone

      Corporate giants may have cutthroat competition between themselves. But they rarely involve in mud slinging. We hardly see their advertisements directly hitting at their competitors. But Samsung seems to have crossed the limit. In a latest ad, they show the hardships faced by a iphone 6 user due it’s poor performance. At the end of the ad, she would turn into Samsung S9 which would of course gives her a jiffy performance. The Ad clearly mocks the performance of Apple phones when compared to Samsung. But it clearly misleads the viewers because the iphone shown in the Ad is four years old!

    Gemini Ganesan’s daughter fires on Mahanati

    The team of Mahanati might have been very cautious in avoiding controversies. The director has been appreciated for his gentle treatment. Even Savithri’s daughter had no issues with the film. But now the film is getting criticism from the unexpected quarters. Kamala Selvaraj is the daughter of Gemini Ganesan and his first wife Alamelu Ganesan. Kamala has given an interview to a Tamil website blasting the unit of Mahanati. She said that her father was wrongly portrayed. He was neither lazy nor turned her into an alcoholic. She even accused that Savithri has thrown them out when they went to advice her regarding a movie.

    Phone while driving is not an offense – Court

    Speaking on phone while driving is being considered as punishable offense in recent times. But the Kerala high court has yesterday issued an order contradicting the present rule. Yesterday, the court has ruled that talking on mobile phone while driving is not an offense, unless it can be established that the act, had endangered public safety. Further the court has observed “There is no provision in the Police Act that bans people from talking over mobile phone while driving. Hence a person doing this can’t be assumed as one causes danger to the public.

    Bullet Train project in trouble

      The prestigious Bullet Train project between Ahmadabad and Mumbai is facing troubles. The pet project of prime minister himself has not yet taken off. Reason! Farmer in Maharashtra as well as Gujarat were not interested in parting with their lands for the sake of project. "The bullet train project should be completed by the end of 2023. So there are only five years. We do not have much time. The land problem issue should be solved immediately. Japan and India are in very close collaboration to establish this high-speed train,’’ said an official linked with the project.
