  • PM’s wife charged with fraud

    Sara Netanyahu, wife of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is charged with misuse of state funds. Sara was said to have fraudulently obtained more than $100,000 by posing wrong bills regarding the meals supplied at their official residence. The Prime Minister of course has dismissed away the allegations to be false and absurd. Benjamin himself is neck deep in several scams, but was able to retain his position for four successive terms. However the latest allegations could seriously hamper his ambition to regain his position for fifth time.

    Shot dead for plucking mangoes

      He was just a kid and his sin was to pluck mangoes. But it didn’t show any effect on the heart of the watchman. Satyam Kumar, a 10 year old child from Bihar was plucking mangoes in a orchid along with his friends. Suddenly, a shot was heard and the children saw Satyam Kumar on ground with a bullet in his head. Satyam was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. Relatives blamed watchman of the orchard Ramashish Yadav for shooting the kid. Scores of villages has gathered as soon as they heard the news and demanded for justice. However the police has not yet confirmed the suspect, but have detained a few for questioning.

    Dalit farmer set on fire

    People might be saying that things are getting better for the oppressed classes. But a news from here and a news from there shows that the reality is something different. A dalit farmer was burnt alive by four people on Thursday in Bhopal. He has been opposing the attempts made to encroach his land. Looking at the sensibility of the issue, a special investigation team (SIT) was constituted to probe into the matter. The victim was identified as Kishorilal Jatav and four people who has burnt him alive were also identified by the police. Tiran Singh Yadav, one of the culprits was said to be a BJP worker. So as we can expect, the political parties has immediately plunged into the situation to turn them in their favour.

    Five actress gang raped in Jharkhand

      In a gruesome incident from Jharkhand, five actresses got raped by locals during their visit to a village. The actors went to a village named Kochang to stage a street play. According to police, the five women went to the village to stage a street play against human trafficking. Meanwhile some men has objected to their performance and allegedly raped them following an argument. Police sources said the women were hired by an NGO to stage street plays to create awareness about human trafficking. Efforts are on the way to identify the culprits and a medical board has been formed to examine the victims.  

    Salary cut for leaving 3 minutes early

      A Japanese company has fined a half day salary of its employee on discipline charges. Well! If you wish know the disciplinary charges, here they are! The employee was often found leaving for the lunch three minutes earlier than the schedule. And there is a genuine reason for the early departure. He doesn’t bring food with him and has to purchase it. But the company doesn’t seem to care about the reason. Though the news might look funny or outrageous for us, it’s very normal in Japan. Japan is thought to have most strict work culture in the world. People work for such long hours in Japan that they sometimes die due to overwork which is called KAROSHI.

    Happiness Syllabus in Delhi schools

    Growing unhappiness among the children is not news now. Increasing role of social media, pressure in education, too much competition, busy parents, meager human support are all the causes for such unhappiness. Delhi government seem to have heard enough of such unhappy children- It has introduced `Happiness curriculum’ in their schools from Nursery to VIII class. It would include lessons on issues such as meditation, morality and mental exercises. This Happiness Syllabus would be launched on July 2nd by none other than the Buddhist guru- Dalai Lama and the Delhi education minister Mr. Sisodia.

    450 villages missing in Telangana

    According to a probe by The Hindu, 450 villages were missing form Telangana. This means that these villages don’t appear in the books of the government. If you wonder what could be the reason, reorganisation of the villages is the answer. The Telangana government in 2016 has reorganised the state. It has increased the number of districts from 10 to 31. During such process many villages were either renamed or transferred to other districts. However such villages were not entered in the final government records. Steps have been taken to address this issue and more than 350 villages were identified by notifications. Still more than 70 villages are said to be missing!

    MP Governor’s controversy over breastfeeding

    Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Miss Anandiben was yet again in a controversy. After calling Narendra Modi a bachelor, she was now has a say about breastfeeding. ‘’Even now, women in cities believe that breastfeeding will spoil their figure. That is why they don’t breastfeed their children. They start bottle feeding their children," said Anandiben yesterday. She has even cursed that the fate of breast fed children would be the same of the bottle. Anandiben used to be the chief minister of Gujarat and she was sacked by the high command due to poor performance. Now as the governor of Madhya Pradesh, her performance might be once again a concern for the high command!

    Modi’s Pakodi advice turned him into millionaire

      Modi in a recent interview has said that `earning Rs 200 per day by selling pakodas was be better than staying unemployed.’ His words are however ridiculed by the congress. They blamed that Modi was trying to duck himself with such words for not able to provide enough employment in the country. However Narayanbhai, a Hindi Pundit from Gujarat took these words seriously. He has immediately opened a Pakodi shop with simple investment. "Upon Prime Minister's advice that selling pakoda is also an employment, I thought of giving it a try. I started with one pakoda stall with only 10 kg of material. Now, I sell pakodas of around 500 to 600 kg of material," he said. Now Narayanbhai’s Pakodi shops have 35 outlets in the city of Vadodara. Some estimate that his income would be around 9 lakhs per month!

    Security threat for Dhoni’s wife

      Thanks to the biopic of M.S. Dhoni, his wife Sakshi has also attracted much attention of the country. Now Sakshi is in news again. Reason! She has sought for an arms licence from the Ranchi district administration. "I have to move alone for work and I feel a security threat," said her application for the arm licence. According to the sources Sakshi has sought for a revolver on the ground that she lives alone in Ranchi. However, Sakshi may not need an instructor to teach her the shooting skills, because Dhoni is well versed in the art of shooting. But the only question that comes across our minds are... what could be such a security problem for her? God knows!

    Chanda Kochhar’s house under scrutiny

      Everything seems to be turning against the fate of Chanda Kochhar. First it was the independent probe by the bank on the role of Kochhar that has sent her on leave. Now her house in south Mumbai is also raising a few suspicions. The spacious house which is owned by her husband Deepak is now under scrutiny. The past transactions of the house are indeed curious. Authorities have found that this house was bought through Credential Finance Ltd, owned by Deepak Kochhar. However, the house was handed over to a subsidiary of Videocon industries in return to the debt. And here is the twist... the property was purchased back by Deepak for a meager amount!!! Now as the illegal relation between Deepak Kochhar and Videocon industries came out, the house is also being thoroughly scrutinised. Let’s wait for some more surprises!  

    Kamal Haasan to support Congress?

    While his friend Rajnikanth was still mulling over active politics, Kamal Haasan was already neck deep in them. His party Makkal Needi Maiam is all set to contest in the upcoming elections. While Kamal has been denying that he won’t be part of any national party, his meeting yesterday with Rahul Gandhi has raised a few brows. Kamal who met the congress president has not revealed the cause of it. Instead he ducked away the question from the media by saying- “That is not something which can be discussed with the media.” However reports say that the meeting might be to discuss a possibility of alliance in future. As Kamal is highly opposed to the ideals of BJP, he probably has no more option other than Congress for a tie up.

    Toothpaste leading to antibiotic resistance

    Most of us might be aware that Triclosan is an active ingredient used in Toothpaste. Triclosan is an antibiotic and antifungal ingredient found in almost 2000 consumer products. But this ingredient might not be as harmless as we think. However, a study in University of Queensland of Australia has found out something fishy about the substance. It was proved that Triclosan could resist the effect of antibiotics and could create a superbug. “These chemicals are used in much larger quantities at an everyday level, so you end up with high residual levels in the wider environment, which can induce multi-drug resistance,” said Mr. Guo who is the leading scientist of this research.

    Bank of Maharashtra chief arrested

      This is yet another blow to the prestige of banks. The Bank of Maharashtra MD & CEO Ravindra Marathe and its former chairman and managing director (CMD) Sushil Muhnot were arrested by the police. They were alleged to have given loans worth 2000 cr. in violation of norms. These were among the six persons arrested by the Economic and Offences Wing. They were caught in a scam where huge loans were given to a company named `D.S. Kulkarini’ group. Bank of Maharashtra is a state run bank with huge depositors in its pocket. However, the present scam could dent its prestige in  a hard way.

    10 yr old sedated and raped in Madrasa

      The Special Task Force of Delhi has registered a shocking complaint. It has charged two persons for giving water to a 10 year old girl mixed with sedatives. She was then taken to a madrasa in Ghaziabad and was raped. While one of the accused has been arrested, the other man alleged to have committed the rape is still at large. “He offered her water laced with sedatives at night and she became unconscious, after which he and his friend allegedly raped her. With the intent to destroy evidence, he broke his and the girl’s phones. The girl said in her statement under Section 164 of CrPC before a magistrate that he allegedly offered her water and she fell unconscious. In the morning, she woke up in pain and he asked her to change her dress after taking a bath,” stated the chargesheet.

    Bandla Ganesh meets Rahul Gandhi

      Who could forget the comedian turned producer Bandla Ganesh. Though people call him a binami, Bandla was able to produce heavy budget films such as Gabbar Singh and Temper. It’s been a long time since Bandla was away from production. Now a days he is often seen in talk shows and debates... where he has consistently shown his temper. However, Bandla is in news again. Yesterday he has met Rahul Gandhi to wish him on his birthday. He showered praises on the congress president and praised him as the future of the nation. Bandla has once boasted that he could even meet Trump is he wish to. Let’s hope to see that soon! Bandla and Trump would be great combination.  

    One More Guruji in Rape Cases

      It’s the case of one more preacher getting ready to be jailed. A self professed god man Daati Maharaj was facing allegations of rape. He was accused of raping a women in his ashrams at Delhi as well as Rajasthan two years ago. The police has initially hesitant to act against him, but after the chiding of `Delhi Commission for Women’ they had to act swiftly. The god man was taken into custody and was questioned for more than six hours. The guru has of course denied all such charges and pretended to be the servant of the humanity- "I had already mentioned to all of you that I am a worker of this nation. I am not an absconder. Whenever they will call me I will always come and cooperate with them," said Daati Maharaj yesterday.  

    Father of Mimicry passes away

      Most famous mimicry artist Nerella Venu Madhav has passed away. Venu Madhav has such a skill in Mimicry that he was often recognised as father of mimicry, and his birthday (December 28) is celebrated at world mimicry day. From artists to politicians, Venu Madhav started mimicking the voices of various people from an early age of 16. His talent grew along with him leading to thousands of stage shows. Venu Madhav has even a great talent in acting. With the experience of stage acting, he was given a cameo role in famous blockbuster `Gudhachari 116’. Venu Madhav was the first mimicry artist to perform at United Nations. He was also nominated as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in 1971. He received the Padma Shri for performing arts from the government of India in 2001. Telangana Chief Minister has expressed his condolences and ordered a state funeral for the legendary artist.

    481- A new record in one day cricket

    England was able to post a new record in the history of ODI’s. Playing their thirds ODI in a 5 match series, the English team was able to score 481 for six wickets. The comfortable conditions of their home ground Nottingham has given them an advantage to achieve the feat. England batsman Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow has hit 147 and 139 respectively. At one stage England looked as if it’s going to surpass even the unachievable 500 score mark. However this is not the lonely record of the match. Australia was defeated by a margin of 242 runs which is of course a record for Australia in that segment. 62 boundaries were scored in this match which is another record at that level. The match was over at 239 all out with almost 13 overs left to play.
