  • Two artists beaten to death

    We have heard enough of the rumours regarding Child lifters. These rumours which were spread like a wildfire has caused much havoc in South India. But like knowledge, ignorance too seem to have no boundaries. Violent incidents were being heard from North Eastern States where some people were being attacked on the pretext of child lifters. Nilotpal Das is an audio engineer who often experiments with music and and Abjijeet Nath is a digital artist. Both these youngsters were from affluent families and were working in Mumbai and Goa. However their vacation back in Assam has proved to be a disaster. The local Assamese mistook them to be kidnappers and has beaten them to death.

    Atal Bihari Vajpayee suffering with kidney problems

      Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is admitted into hospital with multiple health problems. AIIMS hospital of Delhi has in a statement clarified that Vajpayee was admitted to the hospital following complaints of a lower respiratory tract infection and kidney issues. A urinary tract infection was found to be the underlying problem of his complications. 93 year old Vajpayee was often considered to be one of the most influential politicians of the nation. A queue of politicians lined up to visit Mr. Vajpayee. Rahul Gandhi, Amit Shah and Narendra Modi were just few of the elite politicians who has shown up at AIIMS to console the legendary leader.

    RSS, Gadkari planning to assassinate Modi

      While the letter alleged to be retrieved from the laptop of a maoist sympathiser is making waves, here is a fresh tide in the storm. The letter encourages a plot to be hatched to kill Modi in Rajiv style. However many human rights activists are quick to respond that the letter is either hatched or manipulated. JNU students union president Shehla Rashid went a step forward in alleging that `RSS/Gadkari is planning to assassinate Modi, and then blame it upon Muslims/Communists and then lynch Muslims.’ Gadkari has of course got irate by the tweet and is planning for a criminal action. It’s hard to mess with Gadkari!

    Yahoo messenger to shut down

      When you are from the 90’s.. you would surely know the value of an Yahoo Messenger. In those days, the word messenger has meant only Yahoo messenger. But with the changing times few other messengers such as Facebook and WhatsApp began to attract the customers. Yahoo though enjoyed the privilege of loyal customers has failed to update its service. Result! Yahoo is now shutting down the messenger service. You will have six months time to download your data from the messenger. However, the yahoo mail would continue. You can also access others accounts such as Facebook created with your Yahoo id.

    Now-Delhi fights for special status!

      The fight between AAP government in Delhi and the centre is no news. Probalby the AAP leaders might have thought it to be the time to have a final battle. They have started protests demanding full statehood for Delhi. And guess who... Arvind Kejriwal was leading in the front. He has even compared the struggle of his party with the 1947 freedom struggle. He assured that every person in Delhi would get a job and every family would get its own house if Delhi was given full statehood status. The campaign was aptly named as ‘Lieutenant Governor, Delhi Chodo’

    Big Boss has shown me as lesbian – contestant

    The name Aashka Goradia might not be new for those who watch hindi serials. She has starred in soaps such as Kkusum, Kahiin To Hoga, Saat Phere and Naagin. Aashka has also participated in season 6 of Bigg Boss run during 2012. Aashka now opens up that the show has shown her as a lesbian- "My sexuality was portrayed in a wrong way. I was intentionally made to come across as a lesbian on this reality show through editing tricks and it was extremely embarrassing for me and my parents," added Aashka. These rumours have even resulted in her breaking up with her husband. Bad Bigg Boss!

    Gauri Lankesh had to be killed

    Who could forget the cold blooded murder of social activist and noted kannada journalist Gauri Lankesh. The government has tried to turn away from the murder, but thanks to continuous pressure built by the social media... it had to deploy a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder. The SIT has atlast filed a charge sheet in which it mentioned Mr. Naveen Kumar as prime suspect of the murder. Though Mr. Naveen hasn’t shot the bullets, he certainly employed some people to carry out the dirty job for him. Reason! Naveen has confessed that `Gauri Lankesh is ought to be killed as she is anti- hindu.

    Uranium in our groundwater

      This is probably one thing which we should worry about soon. The uranium is getting mixed up in the ground water of the nation. Recent study has shown shown almost one third of the water in Rajasthan is contaminated with uranium. Uranium gets into the water as the ground water level declines. Drinking water mixed up with uranium could cause several health hazards such as kidney failure. Interestingly a previous study has shown high levels of uranium in Andhra Pradesh too!  

    Five patients die in ICU due to AC failure

      It’s Uttar Pradesh again. Five elderly  patients have died Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital due to glitches in the working of AC. The relatives of patients alleged that the AC plant has not be working since a few days. However the chief of the hospital has denied any technical problems to be the cause for the deaths. He said that the patients died due to illness and not because of any AC failure. The incident comes in such a time when the Gorakhpur hospital tragedy where 60 children were dead due to lack of oxygen is still fresh in the memories of the nation.

    Naxals plotting to kill PM

      Mumbai police have arrested five activists for their alleged nexus with the naxals. As everyone thought these arrests to be a routine sort, the police has stumbled upon something that has shocked the nation. A letter recovered from an activist revealed the plot of naxals to kill Narendra Modi through a suicidal bombing to end the Modi Raj. “We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi incident. It sounds suicidal and there is a chance that we might fail but we feel that the party PB/ CC [Politburo/ Central Committee] must deliberate on our proposal,” said the letter. However, the activists have alleged that the letter is fabricated.  

    Man shoots HR for sacking his job

    HR’s always have a difficult time with the employees. And sometimes it can be too difficult to be life threatening. A HR in gurgaon has learned in in a hard way. Binesh Sharma is the HR head in the Mitsubishi company. Sharma is said to have terminated the services of one Joginder for `unprofessional behaviour’. Joginder was unprofessional indeed! He took the termination to his heart and decided to kill Binesh. He fired two shots at Binesh Sharma with an intention to kill him. But Sharma was lucky to be alive with minor injuries.  

    Gangraped for asking lift

      It’s another sad case that was making headlines. A 30 year old Kenyan woman was gangraped in Gurgaon- the satellite city of Delhi. Her sin! She believed three people on her way back to home and stepped into their vehicle. The three sinisters along with their two more friends have allegedly molested her and left her at an isolated place in Gurgaon and fled. "Since the victim (has) managed to note down the vehicle registration number, we immediately reached the hideouts and took the three out of five accused under custody," said Ravinder Kumar, PRO Gurgaon police. But who could redeem the loss suffered by her?

    Will have to wait 70 years for green card

      Green card is the dream of many Indians that hounds them forever. But remember folks! Trump is now the president of US. And he won’t be happy to see you. According to a report more than three lakh Indians residing in US are waiting for the green card to be sanctioned. Due to recent laws that were imposed on greed cards, experts estimate that it would take more than 70 years for the latest entry to get processed. A red signal for the green card!!!

    Receiving threats from the government – TV anchor

      Barkha Dutt is not a new name for the Indian viewers. She is known for her ruthless attacks on the government which is why, she is often considered as pro-congress. Barkha has recently revealed that she was receiving threats from several quarters of the government to lie low. Reason! Barkha was getting ready to be associated with a TV channel, which is rumoured to be funded by the congressman Kapil Sibal. Barkha argues that the ownership of a congressman does not affect her free will! Barkha steps into the twitter platform to reveal the kind of threats to her- `a big meeting was held on how to stop me and my projects. I was told tools will include- tapping my phone, income tax cases, smear, surveillance. was advised debugging and personal security and to not proceed with my new work,` sad if true.

    Don’t take photos of lightening- police

      It a world of smart phones... and people try to grab a picture of anything that’s interesting. That is the reason why you could find people even chasing the lightening. That's what has caused death to a 43-year-old man died in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. He was trying to take a photo of lightning in the sky on his mobile phone. Though phones doesn’t attract mobile phones, their explosive nature could cause severe burns when lightening struck them. That’s the reason why Thiruvallur police has warned people to restrain from taking photos of lightening.

    Home loans gets expensive

      For the first time in regime of Modi that the RBI has increased its REPO rate... though for just .25%. But even such slightest hke could be drastic in our loan driven nation. The marginal increase would mean that the home loans would be getting much costlier for the people. However here is the good news... your fixed deposits in the banks could earn much interest. The decision was probably taken to attract deposits to the banks which are suffering with lack of funds.

    Patanjali threatens Yogi Adityanath

      Just unimaginable. But that’s what is happening in UP. Ramdev’s Patanjali is getting out of Uttar Pradesh. Reason! Lack of support from Yogi’s government to complete formalities for setting up the prestigious Patanjali firm on Yamuna Express Highway. "We did not get any cooperation from the state government for this project. We have waited for a long time for clearances but could not get from the state government. Now we have decided to shift the project," said Acharya Balkrishna, managing director of the company. This could be a huge embarrassment to Yogi government as Ramdev has been a big supporter of the BJP government. Will Yogi take some quick measures to avoid the damage. Let’s wait and see.

    Three sisters raped and murdered

      They are sisters and they are all between the ages of 10-14 years. But this did not hinder the culprits to be gruesome. It was a chilling incident in Katoria of Bihar’s Banka district, 240km southeast of the capital Patna on Tuesday morning. The throats of the three sisters were slit open by the time, their mother came back from work. The crime rate in Bihar is on an alarming move. The state has witnessed a 14.38% rise in crime in 2017 compared to the previous year’s figures. The state seems to be slipping in bad old days again.

    Sent to jail for leaving cows in rain

      Phulsunge, a 75 year old mumbaikar was sent to jail. Reason! He has left his cattle for five days during the 2013 monsoon rains. Hearing on a petition filed by an animal activist Chetan Sharma, the court has delivered such verdict under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. “The accused ought to have made necessary arrangements for proper shelter of the animals, who provide him his daily bread and butter,” metropolitan magistrate AH Kashikar said while delivering the judgement. True!
