Did Kiran makes the opposition unite
Ever since Kiran Kumar Reddy succeeds former CM K. Rosaiah, one and half years ago, he has been sailing from one problem to other until now. There was a time when the complaints made against him to party high command by his rivals has almost bring him to his knees. However, he survived the threats only to face the peak of Telangana agitations which put him an acid test. The failures of the month long strike by Telangana employees and the odd end of million- march gave him an edge over his rivals not out side, but inside the party.
While, the Telangana protagonists have branded him as Andhra CM, the way he firmly handled their protests makes the party high command soften its stand on him. Sniffing the positive mood, he takes liberty to keep his party men at bay and went ahead with co-operative society elections so as to claim full credit to himself. And, he is succeeded in this attempt too.
Then, overpowering the TRS and YSRCP’s no-confidence motion gave him full control of his party leaders and his cabinet ministers. Indeed, this was the peak times for CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. All these developments have virtually shoots up his ratings inside the party as well as in the state politics.
But, the sudden change in his attitude and his arrogant style of handling the matters, probably due to gaining upper hand over the rest, has invited unexpected troubles to him and to his government. He has to swallow his remarks made against Telangana, CAG reports and now the hike in power tariff.
Kiran, who has been privileged with the disorder between the opposition parties during no-trust move, is the one who now obliges them to unite against him in fighting against the power tariff hike. Probably, the opposition takes-up this issue by heart only because of CM’s arrogant attitude shown towards them while responding to their questions in the assembly meetings. Otherwise, opposition parties wouldn’t have been united and wouldn’t take up this issue by heart.
