Two persons shot dead owner of a farmhouse in South Delhi's Rajokri area on Tuesday morning. Deepak Bhardwaj, the owner of the farmhouse, had contested in 2009 Lok Sabha election for the Bahujan Samaj Party.
The two persons entered the farmhouse in a car at around 9:15 am on the pretext of booking Bhardwaj's farmhouse for an event. However, the duo had a tiff with the owner and they shot him dead.
"When I went inside, I saw his worried wife and son. They said that Deepak Bhardwaj had been shot in the morning. He was a good friend of mine but I am not aware of his enmity with anyone," said a family friend, Swami Anand Maharaj.
Bhardwaj was rushed to the hospital and where he was declared dead. Bhardwaj was one of the richest candidates when he contested elections, with declared assets of over Rs 600 crores.
