Stand-off on Delhi government formation continues

Stand-off continues on the formation of Delhi Government as BJP and Aam Admi party, which doesn’t have enough majority to form the government on their own have decided to sit in the opposition benches. AAP has already made it clear that neither it will support BJP nor ready to take its support to form the government. BJP also declared that it will not ask AAP support, but would like to sit in the opposition benches until someone voluntarily come forward extending support. Hence, the stalemate over formation of Delhi government continues.   Congress is closely watching the developments. However, it is not in a position to gather 28 MLAs support to form the government, but may be ready to extend its support to AAP, if asked for.   Former IPS officer and social activist Kiran Bedi said Aravind Kejriwal, who got a good reputation as a social activist, will definitely give a good governance to Delhi people, if becomes CM of Delhi state. She opined that AAP shouldn’t hesitate to take the support of BJP, as re-elections will be an extra burden on the government.   However, Aravind Kejriwal’s mentor Anna Hazare speaking to media at his native village Ralegaon said “I think it is not wise to take the support of either Congress or BJP, as both of they have tainted records. AAP holds a meeting with its newly elected MLAs and party seniors a short while ago. Later, they have declared that AAP will not support or take support of BJP or Congress party.

Rift in APNGO leaders

Politicians and their parties are fuming on the APNGOs president P.Ashok babu for often dictating orders to them in the name of Samaikyandhra. However, they avoid any direct clash with him except now and then making some comments. Recently, when he asked the union ministers to quit their posts, Chiranjeevi asked, who he is to ask so? He asked Ashok babu, whether he has resigned to his job before entering agitations?   However, it seems there are many in APNGOs are not so happy with Ashok babu’s attitude, though he successfully conducted Save Andhra Pradesh meeting in Hyderabad few months ago. Former president of APNGOs association Subbarayan, hits the media making severe allegations against him.   He said, “It is not correct for Ashok Babu to dictate terms to people’s representatives. He is behaving like monarch and doesn’t prefer to anyone’s suggestions in the Association leaders’ meetings. He is driving the agitation to achieve his political goals and not for the sake of keeping the state united. I would like to ask him why did he registered a political party, while he is a government servant? Will he continue as government servant or join politics? Let him answer my question. Samaikyandhra agitation has lost its glory because of his way of functioning and statements. He has to explain where did all that money collected before conducting Save Andhra Pradesh goes? He has to submit account for it.”   However, Ashok babu immediately reacted to his remarks. He said  “Subbarayan is neither a member in any of our associations nor he has any business with our Associations. Although, I need not to reply to him, I condemn all his allegations.”

Chandrababu spits fire on Congress

Chandrababu after going through the T-bill approved by the union cabinet sharply criticized the Congress party not addressing the issues related to Seemandhra. Speaking to media he said “Congress is rudely behaving with Telugu people by going ahead with its bifurcation process without addressing the issues related to Seemandhra region and people. The way it approves the bill reveals that it takes the people for granted. Instead of playing the role of head of the family, it takes decisions keeping in view of his political interests. It not even gives a couple of days’ time to the ministers to go through it before submitting it in the union cabinet meeting. The way it hastily it submitted the bill as table-item in the cabinet meeting clearly spells its mind.”   He said “Some ministers, who boasted of getting good packages to Seemandhra are also clueless, why there is no mention of I in the bill. It neither assures any package in lieu with Hyderabad nor addressed the issues like sharing of Hyderabad revenue, waters, power and other things between two states. Perhaps, it wants the people of both regions fight with each other forever. It also tries to create rift between Seemandhra people over constructing of new capital.”   “Shinde said that the GoM has received 18,000 emails and 8,000 letters from people of the state. I want to know whether the GoM ever bothered to go through all those letters and emails at all before coming to this conclusion? It takes this decision only after talking to KCR and Jagan Mohan Reddy and not with the political parties that represent the people of the state,” said Chandrababu. Chandrababu said “   The ministers from neighboring Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra states, who are members of GoM and union cabinet are conspiring to divide the state for their own state interests and political interests. They, who take the Telugu people for granted, will be taught a good lesson.”

The government will try to submit the T-bill in winter Parliament sessions.   However, President Pranab Mukharji will be leaving for West Bengal on a three-day-tour from tomorrow. So, the bill is to be submitted to him tonight or before leaves for Kolkata tomorrow. However, it is up to him to decide, whether to review it immediately or after returning Delhi. If, he agrees to review and forward it to state Assembly, it may be even sent to him while he is in Kolkata. If, he finds nothing objectionable or doesn’t need any clarifications on the bill he may send it to state Assembly with in three four days.   The winter sessions of the state Assembly are scheduled to begin from December 12th. However, President can order for special sessions if he too wants to push the bill to parliament before end of the winter sessions.   As per constitutional practices, state Assembly is to be given 39 days’ time to return the bill with its comments. However, it depends on President Pranab Mukharji how many days’ time he wants to give to state Assembly. If, he prefers to follow constitutional procedures then, the bill can’t reach the winter sessions of the Parliament. Hence, special sessions have to be summoned to submit and approve the bill.
