‘R’ silent in Rayala Telangana

Congress is all set to make one more historical blunder by forcibly dividing Rayalaseema and merging Karnool and Anantapur districts with Telangana to form Rayala Telangana. However, the new state will not carry the word ‘Rayala’ and the two districts will lose their identity as they will be merged with their neighboring districts, so as the bifurcation process will be strictly in accordance with CWC decision. Therefore, though it is Rayala Telangana, the letter ‘R’ will remain silent and the new state will be mentioned as Telangana only.   This last minute proposal is surfaced due to several reasons.   1. It will reduce the strength of its rivals TDP and YCP, while leaving TRS and BJP in a helpless position by extending their territory.   2. While it will sooth its Rayalaseema leaders, at the same time it will strengthen its Reddy community leaders in Telangana region, who fear being dominated by backward leaders, in the present shape of Telangana.   3. The MP and MLA seats will be equally divided and it will improve the electoral chances for Congress in Telangana, while considerably reducing the risk in Seemandhra.   4. Congress needs not to depend on either TRS or YSR Congress parties.   5. Technically it will be in accordance with CWC decision, so no one can blame for violating its own decision.   6. It may oblige BJP to support the bill, because it is submitted in accordance with CWC decision only.   All these things may look quite good on papers, but the ground realities and the outcome will be completely different. Perhaps, Congress may need time to realize this fact.

Can’t say anything on RT: Digvijay

Deputy CM Damodara Rajanarasimha, who returned Hyderabad two days after discussing with party high command over bifurcation, was again summoned to New Delhi today. However, his tour was cancelled in the last minute. No reasons were given for it. He made it clear that his high command has proposed ‘Rayala Telangana,’ but he refused.   Congress party state political affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh, who until now is playing a low profile, has suddenly came before media, only to say that he doesn’t know anything about ‘Rayala Telangana’ proposal, which in other words he is confirming that it is under serious consideration.   If it is actually intended to distract Congress rivals, then it is not serving its purpose instead it gives them an opportunity to highlight how it is rudely handling a very sensitive issue.   If Congress is expecting to bail itself out from bifurcation issue, by creating Rayala Telangana, then also it will definitely back fire at it, because larger section of the people are opposing this proposal.   If it is planning to cut down all its rivals, even then also it will not serve its purpose, because, it will provide weapons its rivals TRS, TDP, BJP and YCP to fight it out. If, all the political parties in the state are opposing this Rayala Telangana proposal, even if all the Congress leaders in the state agrees for it, Congress can’t afford to create it. Ultimately, any such proposal will help to wipe off the Congress from state and not its rivals.
