Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has mentioned the following points at the Parliament session :
1. Govt has succeeded in obtaining information in 67 cases of overseas accounts, finding out more
2. Disappointed that GST has not been introduced
3. We should use subsidy for the most deserving.
4. Should allocate more for defence, railways, highways and telecom
5. Total sanitation and universal health care among top ten areas of focus.
6. Focus should be on public–private partnerships in infra sector
7. The excise duty reduced for small cars from 12% to 8%l; for SUVs from 30% top 24%
8. Propose to exempt loading, unloading, packaging of rice from service tax
9. Reduces excise duty for SUVs, two-wheeler; restructure same for mobile handsets.
10. No changes in tax law
