BJP in search of alliance partners in TN

BJP has a strong base and very good following in Hindi speaking belt, but not in south India. BJP has lost its only one strong fort of Karnataka to Congress in recent Assembly elections due to mismanagement by the BJP government. Though, it has some hold in Andhra Pradesh, it is mainly confined to Telangana region only. If, the state is divided, then it will lose its grip in residuary AP state also. So, Modi prefers friendship with Chandrababu Naidu in AP.   BJP state President Kishan Reddy is assuring his high command that it doesn’t need to go for any poll alliance in Telangana zone, as he is quite confident of winning alone. But, BJP knew that TRS is going to dominate and it has to compete with Congress for the second place in 2014 general elections in Telangana.   Unless, it gets some support from Southern India, its dreams to grab power from UPA remain distant. Therefore, it is searching for a partner in Tamilnadu state. It is also well aware that unless it has a tie-up with someone or the other, it can’t even put its leg in the state. But, the two major parties-ruling AIADMK led by Kum. Jayalalitha and DMK led by Karunanidhi have disappointed it announcing that they do not want join hands with BJP in 2014 elections.   However, a pleasant surprise awaiting BJP in the state. The third biggest parties in the state MDMK led by Vaiko and PMK led by S. Ramadas has voluntarily come forward expressing interest to join hands with BJP. Yet, it is also trying to woo Kollywood actor-turned politician Vijayakanth, who leads the DMDK to join hands with it so that it can maintain political balance in the state. After seeing the Mode fever that spreads across northern belt, if he also agrees, then BJP doesn’t need to run behind Karuna or Kumari anymore.

Will PM also have a disgraceful end?

Other than Nehru family members, one can’t expect any great honors in the Congress party, come they may be AICC Presidents or Prime Ministers. It has been proved with former AICC President Sitaram Kesari and former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha rao, who have disgraceful ends despite honestly serving the party for decades. Now, seems to be the turn of Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh.   Often many leaders in the party and government keep reiterating that sooner or later the Prime Minister has to vacate his chair for Rahul Gandhi. They even make the PM to sing chorus with them offering his chair to Rahul Gandhi and he obliges their demand.   The New Year occasion has given them all an opportunity to demand Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh for announcing his retirement so that Prince Rahul Gandhi to be declared as PM candidate of the party. Justifying their demand, they argue that since hardly two months’ time is left for him, it is not wise to give any assurances during his annual address to people on Friday. So, it would be wise for him announce his quit from PM race and at the same time declare Rahul Gandhi as his successor. Justifying their demand further, the Congress men argues that it is high time for Congress announce Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Minister candidate, because BJP is taking full advantage of announcing its candidate.   However, their arguments neither help Rahul Gandhi or the party, but very much damaging to both. So, the damage control teams of the party swings into action to assure Prime Minister will complete his full term and he need not to make any formal announcement about his retirement and offer his chair to Rahul Gandhi during his address to the people of the country on Friday. Actually, even these assurances are also nothing short to humiliation to any person, who cares for his self-respect.

Cong. mark treatment to JD Lakshmi Narayana

Congress party always tries to convince the people that its hands are very clean and whatever it does is for the sake of the people only. But, no one in the country is ready to buy its words ever. Two years ago, when its relations with Jagan Mohan Reddy were strained, it let CBI joint director Lakshmi Narayana investigates into his disproportionate assets cases.   Lakshmi Narayana, who is known as honest and sincere officer has thoroughly investigated into the case and sent Jagan Mohan Reddy to jail. He also framed ten charge sheets against him, before returning to his home cadre Maharashtra six months ago. But, soon after his transfer, Jagan Mohan Reddy has been released from jail and all his cases also shelved as if a miracle. He was even given complete relaxation from his bail conditions and allowed to go anywhere he likes, whereas Lakshmi Narayana, who did his job very honestly and earns a promotion and applauds from the people of the state for it, has been kept on hold since last six months for no reasons.   Neither he neither troubled Maharashtra government nor carries any bad remarks in his service record. Yet, he is not given posting until now. Is this in accordance with secret agreement made between Jagan Mohan Reddy and Congress high command? Is it lending its ears to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s demands to get his party support after 2014 elections? Is Congress punishing the honest officer merely for doing his duties?   If so, it is time for Rahul Gandhi to explain how he wants to eliminate corruption from the country, especially Congress ruled states? How he is expecting the people to support Congress party that punishes honest officers like Lakshmi Narayana and many others like Khemka.

Elections may drive UPA go heavy on US

Even though, US is holding talks with India to find an amicable solution over Indian diplomat Devayani Kobragade’s issue, it is also proceeding for prosecution of the diplomat as it has to meet the deadline of January 13th for her prosecution given by the court.   Perhaps, US government may have to act according to rules and regulations of the country, but at the same time it can’t put the bilateral relations at stake. By now, it might have realized that its officials have made several blunders like misquoting diplomat’s salary as her house maid salary, illegally deporting housemaid’s husband from India to US without the knowledge and consent of Indian government etc. It even not bothered to submit the particulars of Indian employees working in the US embassies and their salaries etc. before the deadline of December 23rd given to it.   So, the poor response by US to Indian government’s appeals and demands over this case make the people of India and the political parties fuming. UPA government can’t sit cool on the issue as the general elections are fast approaching. If, it fails to pressurize the US government, probably, opposition parties will grab the point to underline its inability to save the country’s diplomat. So, Indian government may increase the pressure on US to meet its demands. But, the question is, will the US government spare the diplomat from prosecution considering UPA’s obligations?   However, it can’t force the diplomat personally attend the court as she now enjoys full diplomatic immunity after being promoted to the UN as the country's mission on permanent basis. Hence, though the court verdict comes against her, it has to be shelved forever. But, is this what Indian government expected from US? If so what about the humiliation met by the diplomat?

Will Harikrishna ever learn to synchronize with party?

We always find Nandamuri Harikrishna either criticizing his party TDP or its president Chandrababu Naidu, but never seen working for it. This time also he aims his guns on Chandrababu for not inviting him to Praja Garjana meeting held at Tirupati on Sunday.   Hours before the meeting, speaking to media he said “Once again TDP has ignored to send invitation to me for the meeting. Probably, it is due to my stand taken in favor of Samaikyandhra.”   Of course he exactly understood why he was not invited to the meeting. If, he was invited, then definitely he will make Chandrababu and others embarrass in front of the huge crowds with his speech for Samaikyandhra. At the same time, his speech will also provide a weapon to YSR Congress party to attack on Chandrababu and his party for not spelling their stand on bifurcation.   The other reason for ignoring him may be his sharp criticism against BJP for supporting division of the state. The other day Chandrababu returns from Madhya Pradesh, after having a meeting with BJP top leaders during oath taking ceremony of BJP Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan, Hari Krishna has sharply criticized BJP for reiterating stand on bifurcation.   While, Chandrababu is trying to strike a deal with BJP for poll alliance, Hari Krsihna’s criticism came as a shocker for Chandrababu and BJP. If, he was invited to the meeting definitely he may grab this chance to criticize BJP. It will be another embarrassment for Chandrababu and to his party. So, unless Harikrishna perfectly synchronize with party ideology, he can’t expect to be invited to any of its meetings.

Congress MPs strikes again, but why?

The five Congress MPS Undavalli, Lagadapati, Rayapati, Harsha Kumar and Sabbam Hari, who revolt against their high command and served no-confidence notice against their UPA government, have attended a press conference held by AP Journalists Association at Hyderabad on Sunday. Soon after winter Parliament sessions concluded, none of them could be seen, except Lagadapati’s occasional appearance before media. Now, they returns to media with a common goal.   As predicted, all of they sang in chorus against their party high command. They all reiterated that it is dividing the state merely for its own political benefits. They said their party not only betrayed the people of Seemandhra but also its own leaders. They cry foul on their high command for betraying them and the people, who helped it to form a stable government at Centre. Many of them have opined that a debate on the T-Bill should be conducted in Assembly that not only reveal the discrimination shown towards Andhra region but also gives a chance to stress the need for keeping the state united.   The sudden press meet held by the MPs gives way for suspicion. Since, they revolts against their high command, obviously they might be expecting Seemandhra people endorse their fight for Samaikyandhra, so as it can brighten their electoral chances in 2014 general elections. The way CM Kiran Kumar Reddy emerges as Samaikyandhra champion with his fight against his high command they also want to emerge as champions. Ultimately, all these anti-congress leaders may take shelter under a new umbrella likely to be opened by CM Kiran Kumar Reddy in the near future and contest elections under new banner. Their press meet can be seen as a preparation for it.

What could be TDP position in Telangana?

There is general belief in the people that TDP may be badly affected in 2014 elections in Telangana due to its suspicious stand on bifurcation. TRS and T-Congress leaders also write off TDP from Telangana. But, is TDP really going to lose Telangana for its rivals? If so, why should Chandrababu Naidu and his party still hangs to Telangana? Why its T-leaders are still glued to TDP, when they are not sure about party victory in Telangana? These questions make it clear that actually the party position is not that much bad as gobbles spread by its rivals. If, the party is going to be wiped-off from Telangana, then definitely all its T-leaders would have jumped out of the ship, like the Congress leaders are jumping out now.   Hence, it is to be understood that even if TDP can’t expect a victory but definitely can expect fair share in Telangana, that may put it in a king maker position. Although Congress is granting Telangana, its leaders in the region may not be able to beat TRS and its president KCR. The strong Telangana sentiment also may put the Congress at bay. If, Congress fails to create Telangana state before elections, then it may be washed out of the region.   In any case, TDP will get fair share of seats in the region. It has strong leaders and cadres spread across the region. Moreover, those who fail to secure tickets in TRS and Congress may jump for TDP as there is no other option. So, one can’t write off TDP from Telangana at any given moment, unless it also takes a ‘U’ turn and jumps for Samaikyandhra.

56 years for Cong and instant results from AAP?

It is evident that there are very high expectations on Aam Admi that takes charge of Delhi government on Saturday. It is due to its promises made to people during elections. However, would it made some typical and routine promises like any other parties do to people all these years, perhaps, no one would have minds about them and definitely there will not be this much of hype created. Even it may not get these much of seats and backing of the people. The hype is there because all its promises are virtually linked to problems being faced by the common man for decades and exactly reflects what they are expecting from any government.   However, Congress and BJP even a section of media also are whole heartedly praying the god to see that Aam Admi miserably fails in implementing its election promises and just, just.. fall apart before 2014 general elections, so as they can again go for a usual ride on the back of common man.   But, Arvind Kejriwal and his team seem to be determined to fulfill their promises, if not in full, at least as much as they can do. He too has agreed that he is not carrying a magic wand in his hand to change the things overnight, but is firmly saying that it is not impossible to change things, if put enough effort with honesty. The measures that he and his ministers take in the next few days will definitely spell their honesty and ability in implementing the election promises.   When, people of India could give Congress party 56 years’ of time to see themselves in this present stage, it is not wise to ask Aam Admi to do miracles overnight. They should give them enough time to accustom to the administrative procedures and flex their muscles. It may need not less than 5 to 6 months’ time, but Congress has already announced that it can hardly give 3 months’ time to do any miracles.   If, Aam Admi could implement at least 25 per cent of its election promises, then Congress may not afford to withdraw its support to Aam Admi as it may be providing scope for AAP to get re-elected with full majority. So, all it can do now is just sit and pray god let Aam Admi fail and fall apart before 2014 general elections. If Aam Admi is successful in its efforts then Congress and BJP have to forget about Delhi and also have to change their ideology of dealing common man. Let us hope common man will win over the political parties.

Is Rahul helping party or pulling it down?

Several times in the past Congress party had embarrassment from its own vice president Rahul Gandhi’s remarks. His ‘nonsense’ remark made against the ordinance passed by own government has come as a blow to party. Then his statement about ISI terrorists moving free around the Muslim youth victims of Muzaffar Nagar riots made the party run for cover.   Now to add an essence to his speech on fight against corruption, he condemned the Maharashtra Congress government’s decision of rejecting the judiciary report tabled by the two member commission on Adarsh Housing Scam. Now, in an attempt to steal the show of fight against corruption, “I disagree with Maharashtra government’s decision. I suggest it to have a re-look into it,” said Rahul Gandhi during press conference held on Thursday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Pridviraj Chavan, who is sitting beside him find it hard to digest Rahul Gandhi pass such remarks against his government. He told the poking media “I will discuss about this issue with my colleagues after I return home.”   There are four former Congress Chief Ministers- late Vilasrao Deshmukh, Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar, Sushilkumar Shinde (present home minister), Ashok Chavan and state Ministers Rajesh Tope and Sunil Tatkare of NCP found involved in this scam. There are number of top bureaucrat’s takes part in this shady deal. Even Indian diplomat Devayani Kobragade also has procured a flat in this Adarsh Housing society meant for war widows.   Maharashtra government has appointed a two member commission led by former justice of Bombay High Court to study and submit a report on this scam, succumbing to opposition parties’ pressures. However, Maharashtra government has simply brushed out the commission report tabled before state Assembly in the last week.    Maharashtra Chief Minister can’t ignore or reject his party vice president Rahul Gandhi’s suggestion. At the same time he can’t afford to open the Pandora Box that once again brings out devil out of it, that too when general elections are round the corner. So, the question is whether Rahul Gandhi is trying to bail out his party in 2014 elections or pulling its leg unknowingly?
