Stormy assembly sessions to begin from today

  After festival holiday-break, assembly sessions will begin from today. Since, the T-bill is to be returned to President at the end of these 7 days’ sessions, they are going to be stormy. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and other opposition leaders may deliver lengthy speeches consuming the whole time of the house. All the members, divided under regional and party lines may vociferously fight in the house and try to get full focus of the media in a bid to project themselves as war heroes in the eyes of people they represent. The Andhra and Telangana groups may lock horns and turns the house a war zone and obviously it may lead to frequent adjournments of the house. Therefore, it would be a clash between political persons rather than a thoughtful debate on the T-bill.

Congress steps back on Rahul’s PM candidature

  The highest governing body of Congress party- CWC meeting was just concluded. The meeting is actually intended to propose Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister Candidate of the party, but Sonia Gandhi has rejected the proposal made by the members of the meeting. She told them that it was not Congress tradition to announce PM candidate ahead of elections. Party is used to elect its PM candidate only after it wins the elections. So, she refused the proposal. However, the members of the meeting have unanimously agreed to face the upcoming elections in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. So, he will not be declared as PM candidate of the party in tomorrow’s AICC meeting.

CM Kiran skips CWC meeting

  While, the six rebel Congress MPs are fuming on their high command for not inviting them to AICC meeting to be held tomorrow, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy despite being invited skips the crucial CWC meeting held today, which is intended to finalize the agenda for tomorrow meeting. Therefore, it is understood that he may not attend AICC meeting also. These two developments clearly reveal that a line has been drawn between Congress high command and CM and the six MPs.

No entry for rebel MPs to AICC meeting

  At last Congress high command has gathered some courage to express its anguish on the rebellion MPs. It did not sent invitations to the six MPs-Harsha Kumar, Vundavalli, Rayapati, Lagadapati, Sai Prathap and Sabbam Hari to the crucial AICC meeting to be held at New Delhi tomorrow. Probably, it kept them away only to avoid any kind of embarrassment in the crucial meeting, where Rahul Gandhi may be declared as party Prime Minister Candidate. It is not clear, whether it sent invitation to CM Kiran Kumar Reddy or not.

AAP MLA Binny strikes again

  Soon after Arvind Kejriwal announces the names of his cabinet ministers, one of his party MLAs Vinod Kumar Binny left the party meeting fuming on him. Then he also told the media that he will announce his future course of action on the next day, but somehow Arvind Kejriwal made him calmed. But, it seems the fire is not extinguished completely.   Vinod Kumar Binny has once again busted before media on yesterday against his government and it’s CM Arvind Kejriwal. He said, “Aam Admi government is gradually drifting away from its principles and promises made to public. So, it is my responsibility to alert the people. I will talk to media in detail about it very soon. If necessary, I will sit for a Deeksha to put the government back on to its track.”   Responding to his media statement, Arvind Kejriwal said “Actually, Binny was disappointed when he was not given minister post in my cabinet. Later, he asked me to allot Lok Sabha ticket, but I told him that party policy is not to allot Lok Sabha tickets to its MLAs. So, obviously he might be upset with my answer and hitting the media. Our party had a meeting with all the 70 contestants of Delhi Assembly elections on Tuesday itself. There he did not utter a word about Minister Post or Lok Sabha ticket, but trying to twist our hand making false allegations. However, we welcome him to criticize our government, which may be helpful to rectify our mistakes if any.”   Immediately, Binny hits the media and said “Arvind Kejriwal is a liar. I have never asked him for any minister post or Lok Sabha ticket. He is trying to misguide the people by defaming me. Soon, I will expose the hidden agenda of his government.”   Binny, who worked with Congress party earlier seems is still maintaining the same essence. AAP senior leader Yogendra Yadav is trying to resolve the problem.

Galla Jayadev awaiting TDP reply

  Minister Galla Arun Kumari’s son Galla Jayadev, who wants to joins TDP, is asking for Guntur Lok Sabha ticket. TDP is also keen to admit him into party as he may rope in his brother in law Mahesh Babu and his father super star Krishna for party campaigning in 2014 general elections. However, TDP is trying to convince the other aspirants in the party to give way for him. Hence, Galla Jayadev in his recent media statement said that he will announce his future plans after 26th January, hinting it as a deadline set for TDP. If, TDP fails to receive him, he may join the new political party to be launched by CM Kiran or any of his associates.

T-bill likely to dealy at state assembly

  The last date to return the T-bill to the President is January 23rd. However, President Pranab may extend it for 10 more days, if the Assembly requests for the same for continuing the debate. CM Kiran and his Seemandhra colleagues are planning to appeal the President for the same in a bid to delay the bill at state level.   If, the President grants additional time and the bill is delayed at state level, then hardly there will be anytime left for presenting it in the Parliament, because the vote-on budget sessions of the Parliament will commence from 2nd week of February and conclude before month end. Later, in the 1st week of March, EC may announce the Election Schedule, after which bifurcation process can’t be done due to election code of conduct.   So, now the President’s decision of giving additional time for returning the T-bill will be a game-changer. According to previous experiences and general practice, President normally considers Assembly appeal and may give 10-30 days additional time, if he is requested by the state Assembly.

Arvind Kejriwal says fight is with BJP only

  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who already announced that his party will contest to maximum number of Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming general elections has said, the contest would be mainly between BJP and Aam Admi parties only as Congress is not in a position to defend itself, which is submerged under several scams. He questioned BJP how it can fight against corruption, when it readmits a corrupt person like Yeddyurappa back into party.   He said Aam Admi party is fast spreading across the country as people are coming in large numbers to join the party. He said within one month time around 10 lakh people have taken membership of the party and the number is rapidly growing. He said his government’s performance itself spells what an Aam Admi can do if elected to power. Although, Aam Admi enjoys a good following in Hindi speaking belt, it has to strive hard to spread its wings to southern states of the country.   However, he can’t assume that the growing party members will ensure his party win over BJP and Congress parties, which have a strong base and network all over the country. Perhaps, he is expecting that even if his party wins a handful of MP seats, it will be bonus for his party and definitely not any loss.

Modi is the Best: Salman Khan

  BJP and its Prime Minister Candidate Narendra Modi both are desperately trying to woo the minority community in the country in a bid to wipeout the negative feeling in them against him. If, Goa Congress spokesperson Manohar is to be believed BJP has played a cheap trick by roping in large number of RSS activists wearing burakas in Modi’s public meeting held at Goa recently in a bid to convince the world that Muslim community is with Modi and BJP. Whether, these Congress man’s allegations are true or not, Bollywood No.1 hero Salman Khan has come with open support to Narendra Modi.   Salman Khan, who attends kite festival in Ahmadabad yesterday, said “Narendra Modi is best person I know. I am sure if he becomes Prime Minister of the country, he will develop the country like the way he develops Gujarat. He deserves to become Prime Minister.” These complements from a top Bollywood hero, who represents minority community, may tilt the Muslim community towards Narendra Modi at least to certain extent and may give some political mileage to Modi and to his party.

Ready to shoulder any responsibility: Rahul

  Soon after, Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan singh announces that he would like to retire from his post after next general elections, media is abuzz with the reports about Congress party going to announce Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Minister Candidate in the AICC meeting to be held at January 17 at New Delhi.   Rahul Gandhi, as if making grounds ready for his launching has said, “ I am a disciplined solder of Congress party. So, I am ready to shoulder any responsibility entrusted to me by my party.” Therefore, it is understood that the upcoming AICC meeting is intended to announce him as party PM Candidate and for nothing else.

I want to become T-Governor: MS

  Former minister and present RTC Chairman M. Satyanarayana is celebrating his birthday today. On this occasion, speaking to media he said, “Sonia madam has offered me Governor Post. So, I am expecting the same after the bifurcation. We can’t find fault with CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. He has his own problems and to look after his political future. So, whatever he does or speaks is to safeguard his political future. However, he too very well knew that bifurcation is certain.”

Acid test for Cong. TDP in Rajya Sabha elections

  Elections for the six Rajya Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh state are going to be an embarrassing affair to TDP and Congress parties rather than showcasing power. Each candidate should have at least 39 MLAs’ support to win Rajya Sabha seat. Congress which has 146 MLAs on the record can get 3 members elected without any difficulty. However, to avert polarization of votes, it decides to stall 4 candidates two each from Andhra and Telangana regions. It is planning to take the support of its allies TRS, MIM to get its 4th candidate elected.   TDP, which has 80 MLAs, is planning to allot one seat each to Andhra and Telangana regions. However, since around 11-14 MLAs of the party either siding with TRS or YSRCP may not come to its candidates support. So, TDP has to find ways to bridge the gap. It may woo the former Praja Rajyam MLAs and other MLAs of Congress paty for cross voting, who are angry with party on bifurcation issue.   The same way, YSRCP, which has just 17 MLAs on record if stalls one or two candidates and woos the Congress and TDP MLAs, who are planning to take plunge into it, TDP and Congress parties may find it hard to get their candidates elected.   The present strengths in State Assembly of the parties are: Congress:146; TDP:80; YSRCP:17; TRS:17; MIM:7; CPI(M):4; BJP:3; Independents:3.

Rajya Sabha Elections on Feb 7th

  Elections schedule for 55 Rajya Sabha seats in 16 states has been announced today. T.Subbi Rami Reddy, KVP Ramachandra rao, Nandi Yellaiah and Ratna Bhai’s current term will ends on April 4th. Nandamuri Harikrishna quits his Rajya Sabha seat in protest against Centre’s decision to divide the state. T.Subbi Rami Reddy is keen to contest to Lok Sabha from Vizag constituency, which is now represented by D. Purandeswari.   The elections schedule as follows: Notification: 21st January, Last date for filing nominations- 28th , scrutiny: From 28th, nominations withdrawal: 31st, elections: February 7th.

Z category security provided to Arvind Kejriwal

  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been refusing to accept any security cover to himself and to his ministerial colleagues also. However, after facing an embarrassing situation with unexpected crowds turned up to his Janata Durbar held outside the secretariat on Saturday, Ghaziabad police have decided to provide him Z category security cover to him round the clock.   Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said “Although he is not accepting any security, we are providing him full security cover round the clock without his knowledge. However, this security personal will be in plain clothes. But, we have posted 30 security personals in uniform at his residence in Koushambhi in Ghaziabad. We can’t ignore his security though he refuses to accept it.”   Arvind Kejriwal said that from now onwards, he will not conduct Janata Durbars, instead he will personally visit one area a week to address the problems of the people.

Telangana will be reality before elections: Digvijay

  So far, there is some dilemma in Congress party over when to introduce T-Bill in the Parliament. But, when BJP official spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman announces that her party is ready to extend an unconditional support to the bill, Congress also seems to be encouraged with her statement and come forward making an announcement on introducing the T-bill into Parliament.   Digvijay Singh has announced that Parliament special sessions will be summoned for introducing the T-bill. Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamalnath and Home Minister Shinde have stated that they are not sure when the bill will be introduced in Parliament. But now, Digvijay made a firm statement on the bill. However, Congress and BJP’s actual intentions and plans will be known only when the bill is introduced in the Parliament.

Will Kiran attend AICC Meetings?

  The agenda of Congress (AICC) meeting to be held at New Delhi on 17th January may be discussing strategy for facing the upcoming elections, but the main agenda may be declaring Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister Candidate of the party. So, it would a great event for the Sonia-Rahul bhajan teams in the Congress party. But, unfortunately many of them in our state may miss the occasion because debate on the T-bill will starts in the state Assembly exactly on the same day. However, all others, who get invitations, may feel quite fortunate as it will provide an opportunity to impress their high command. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy may also need to attend this crowning ceremony of their princes, but he may abscond the meeting showing Assembly sessions as an excuse. Since, he turns rebelion if attends the meeting, it will send wrong signals to people. So, he may skip this crucial meeting. Several Seemandhra leaders may also skip the meeting even if they got invitations. However, those who are in Chief Minister race in Andhra and Telangana may not afford to miss this great opportunity.

Is CM Kiran not launching party?

  “The speculations about CM Kiran Kumar Reddy launching a new political party are baseless”, said Minister Raghuveeraa Reddy. Even, senior Congress leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and Digvijay Singh are also quite sure that Kiran Kumar Reddy will not part ways with Congress and launch any party. YSR Congress party is strongly arguing that CM Kiran’s rebellion and Samaikyandhra stand is just a drama well scripted by his high command, otherwise it would have pulled out from his chair long ago.   If they are to be believed, then how can he represent Congress party in the upcoming elections, against which is fighting until now? If, he is not launching any party, then he may afford to glue to Congress party only until election bell rings. Then, he has to jump into some other party to be launched by some Lagadapati or Rayapati or else has to contest elections as an independent candidate.

Is his remarks intended to grab the media focus?

  Union Minister Jaipal Reddy, who suddenly dawned upon Telangana seems is trying to steal the limelight of T-Congress leaders, who are in Chief Minister Race. He sharply criticized Seemandhra Congress and opposition party leaders including CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP President Chandrababu for creating obstacles in the bifurcation process.   Obviously, it draws enough reactions from Seemandhra leaders and gives him wide media coverage. He gets full attention of media, people and Telangana leaders, as the Seemandhra leaders start hardly hitting back at him. Jaipal Reddy has become the man of hot discussion in the media. Probably, this is what the outcome he expects from his remarks. So far, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has successfully practicing this trick and getting good results. So, the other contenders also may play this trick in the days to come. However, the question is can Congress party win over TRS and form the government in Telangana?
