Why Digvijay wants to face Modi?

    Digvijay Singh said that he is ready to contest from Banaras, if party orders him so. He made this announcement only after confirming BJP Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi is contesting from there. Though, Digvijay is very much aware that he can’t defeat Narendra Modi at any cost, he prefers to take upon him only to impress Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Moreover, he might be foreseeing a clear defeat of his Congress party in the hands of Narendra Modi. So, Digvijay may be thinking that when his party is going to sit in the opposition benches for the next five years, it is better to preserve his position in the party. The only way to impress his high command is boldly facing Modi in the elections and getting defeated by him, otherwise no politician of his caliber will ever think or afford to take such risk.

TDP-Telangana Committees announced

  TDP President Chandrababu has finally announced formation of elections and manifesto committees for Telangana state with 16 members in each committee. L. Ramana will lead the elections committee as president and Ravula Chandrashekar Reddy has been appointed as Chairman of manifesto committee.   Elections Committee: President: L. Ramana; Working President: Errabelli Dayakar rao; Convener: Motkupalli Narasimhulu; Advisor: Devendar Goud; General Secretaries: Nama Nageswara rao, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Talasani Yadav, Ramesh Rathod. Members: Revanth Reddy, Ravulapati Sitaramarao, Maskati, Prakash Goud, Mandava Venkateswarulu, Annapurnamma, Mallesham and P.Ramulu.   Manifesto Committee: Chairman: Ravula Chandrashekar Reddy Members: Peddi Reddy, tummala Nageswara rao, Kashinath, Uma Madhav Reddy, Aravind Kumar Goud, K.Dayakar Reddy, B. Venkateswarulu, Yusuf Ali, Rajkumar, N.Hanumantha rao, Narsa Reddy, Safandev, Sayanna, Narendar Reddy and Seetakka.   Chandrababu told the media that within two days he will also announce the elections campaigning committee for Telangana. He said that he is gifting TDP to BCs.

When Nagarjuna met Modi

      After his one-hour meeting with Narendra Modi, actor Nagarjuna has clarified that he only met Modi as an admirer of the leader and that he personally believed that he could be the Next best Prime Minister, and met him on that note of support. He went on to clarify that neither he nor his family have any political agenda and that as a certain segment of media were saying that he was seeking a ticket for his wife also was not true. He said he was highly impressed with the Model Village where they had 24 hour electricity and WiFi and most of the villages are following this model . And the concept of sustainability was highly impressing and also answered a question where he said that he would love to see the whole of India prosper like Gujarat. He went there at the behest of Venkayya Naidu and expressed his support to the Leader and was highly impressed with the way Gujarat was developed and hoped that he would be the next PM and develop India too. Quite a disappointment for his fans but the gentleman has hogged his share of limelight on National and regional TV.

Election Code of Conduct and Nagma’s episode

      With Congress MLA Gajraj Sharma publicly kissing Meerut candidate actress Nagma on the cheek while she was attending an election rally in Hapur has sparked a row among women’s associations though the poor lady is yet to react to this gross violation of decency that too by a sitting MLA. I mean what was he thinking when he just emerged from the crowd and put his hand on her face and gave her a quick peck on the cheek with the whole thing relayed on national TV. She pushed away his hand in anger but left in quiet dignity. Now what he would probably say was that it could be a show of fatherly affection and surely she must be in consultations with her party members and her PR machinery on how she should react to this obnoxious behavior. For sure we need to add a section in the Election Code of Conduct in the General Conduct section that no sitting MLA or MP should publicly hug or kiss any lady while canvassing.

Will Amala Akkineni be the next Maneka Gandhi of AP?

      With Nagarjuna meeting Narendra Modi at 4Pm today, all eyes and ears are waiting for the outcome. Whether it is going to be just a show of support or is there something more in the offing we need to wait till the meeting is over. Rumours doing their rounds are that he is might seek a ticket for his wife Amala in the coming polls. Nagarjuna not only being one of the top most actors in Tollywood, has also known to be a sound business man who has various business establishments apart from the Annapurna Studios. It is a known fact that he had 14 acres of lands near Hi-Tech City purchased from Gurukul Trust which were regularized by the ULCC with the help of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and received a lot of flak for it. Known to be friendly with both the Congress and TDP this new move in support of BJP is an interesting development. A well known animal rights activist and Blue Cross Foundation founder, Amala has also lent her name and support to various causes including save the Hussain Sagar Project, several NGOs and her own work towards helping and protecting the animal rights. She has quietly blended into the traditional household of the Akkineni family and work with her NGO, which could make her an ideal candidate for the polls. Also quite a good crowd puller when invited for any function or event in support of any good cause, Amala has managed to garner a good crowd with her charisma.  Something akin to Maneka Gandhi who was a vociferous animal and environmental activist herself and became an MP and BJP leader apart from being the daughter in law of the Gandhi family...

Pawan will meet his Vizag Jana Sena on March 27th

      If all goes well then Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan's first political meeting after starting the party will be held in the city of Visakhapatam on March 27th. It has been finalized and all the required permissions for conducting the meet have been okayed and it will be held in the Indira Priyadarsini Auditorium.   The theme of the meeting is purely focused on the youth and theme is “Youth for the Nation… fight for the Nation…” It has been decided that the JSP (Pawan) will hold meetings every 10 days in different places in the state of the Andhra Pradesh and address core issues related to  the development of the country to engage and enlighten the Youth. His book “Ism “  which is a collection of his ideologies and thought will also be released on that day.

Whole Andhra Ke Sole Andagadu for TRS?

      Comedian /actor Babu Mohan has announced that he is quitting the TDP and would no longer associate himself with the party. A disgruntled Babu Mohan has been sidelined by the TDP leadership after he lost both the 2004 and 2009 elections to D Raja Narasimha in the Andhole Assembly in Medak .With the elections coming around the corner, he was not given any ticket nor has been active in the party activities and this has further fuelled this decision to quit . Whether he will join the TRS or not is yet to be clarified by the actor who also happens to be a Dalit leader there. When questioned if he was joining the TRS the actor has informed his supporters that he would join TRS only if he gets a call from TRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Tadipathri now a TDP bastion

      The wait is finally over and Mr Chandra Babu Naidu has broken the 6 decades of Congress strong-hold over the Anantapur district’s Tadipathri religion. Former Congress Minister J.C. Diwaker Reddy, his brother JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son Pawan Reddy have officially joined the Telugu Desam Party on Sunday. J C Diwakar Reddy is expected to get the Lok Sabha seat and either his son or brother will be given the Assemblyseat from Tadipathri. What was once a war of words between Naidu and JC Diwakar and his supporters took a different turn as they shook hands with each other. This entry has antagonized the TDP party cadre in Anantapur who were against this move but at the end it was a necessity and something that he couldn’t risk not doing that fuelled this move. Another sitting MLA from the Vijayawada east constituency Yalamanchali Ravi has joined the TDP also.

After Pawan, Next Nag’s turn

  Recently, Power star Pawan Kalyan went to Ahmadabad just to convey his support to Narendra Modi. Now, Nagarjuna also takes flight to Ahmadabad today morning for the same purpose. Though, he didn’t launch any political party he jumps for Narendra Modi as he has some other intentions. His wife Amala is keen to contest to Assembly from Vijayawada. Recently, Nagarjuna had a meeting with BJP senior leader Venkaiah Naidu during his visit to Hyderabad. Even if he is not assured of party ticket to his wife, he may campaign for BJP, to ensure his party cover to his family in the future. The buzz is Mohan babu and family members are also keen to support BJP and Narendra Modi. If, TDP could strike a deal with BJP over poll alliance, it will also get the full support of Telugu Film Industry.

Will T-BJP agrees for alliance with TDP?

  TDP and BJP are still didn’t come open about their poll alliance, but all others have asserting that they are friends. Perhaps, there is no doubt in their predilection as far as Seemandhra is concerned but still there is big dilemma over their alliance in Telangana, because BJP leaders there are strongly opposing any such proposals.   However, BJP high command is aware that if it refuses alliance in Telangana, it can’t expect in Seemandhra also. Though, BJP has developed its strength in Telangana, still its very weak in Seemandhra. Moreover, it badly needs the Seemandhra MPs support to claim the government at Centre. Since, TDP is riding high these days with many Congress leaders jumping for it, BJP can’t afford to lose its friendship in Seemandhra. So, it is obliged to have alliance with it in Telangana also.   It may ask its T-leaders to co-operate with TDP for the sake of its national interests. BJP Telangana state president Kishan Reddy has already made it clear that he would like to simply follow the instructions of his high command regarding any issue, including poll alliance with TDP. So, chances are bright for poll alliance between two parties.

JSP Sailajanath and Sai Pratap for TDP

      In what could be a big blow to Kiran Kumar Reddy JSP party and his depleting coterie, news which has been doing the rounds is that S. Sailajanath vice President of Kirans JSP and MP A Sai Pratap are quickly taking steps to exit JSP and move to the TDP fold.   Whether they are developing cold feet about the party winning in Seemandhra and their public careers diminishing, they claim that their supporters are telling them to move over to the TDP Sailajanath is keen to contest from Singanamala constituency in Anantapur on TDP ticket where he is already popular , and MP A Sai Pratap, is also said to be in talks with the TDP and wants to contest from Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency.

AP T-Congress list to be finalized today

      The AICC AP screening committee in session today to scrutinize and finalize the list of probable candidates for Andhra Pradesh Parliamentary and Assembly elections. The AICC meeting chaired by Vayalar Ravi will screen and finalize the list of probable telangana candidates for the forthcoming 2104 elections.   The leader has previously said in January that not that every sitting MP will get a ticket indicating that there is a feeling in the party that  by not repeating some of candidates can help it tide over the anti-incumbency against the 10-year-old UPA government. But in regard to Andhra Pradesh the situation could be different as it seems the sitting MLAs and MPs have more chances of making it to the list. Damodar Raja Narasimha, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Madhu yashki Goud, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Uttam Kumar and Blaram Naik and few other leaders have gathered  in Delhi to attend the meeting.

JSP Kiran Kumar is clueless !

      Looks like the last and former CM of United Andhra Pradesh has a one point agenda and no Manifesto in place.Ever since his inception of the Jai Samaykhynadra Party ( JSP) he has been making periodical press meets and public meetings at different places around AP.The latest being the Meet the Press at Vijayawada where he interacted with the press and media. Now what was said before and said today has been the same thing. That he would fight for a United Andhra and that it was a fight for the future of the people of Andhra. Now how is that possible when the bill has been finalized and we see the states to separate on June 2nd 2014,with all legal formalities underway? The other aspect was making sharp remarks against other party leaders. Yesterday it was on the TRS Chief KCR and today it was the TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu and Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi. He fails to understand what is Mr. Chandra Babu’s stance on bifurcation- is it for the bifurcation or against it? Chiranjeevi is a good actor but he speaks like a comedian is the dig he took on the actor after the low turnout of people in the Srikakulam campaign show. Now he goes on to complain that the Center never told him what decision they were taking. How that is remotely possible when the bifurcation process was underway even during his time and a detailed survey was on about how the state should be bifurcated? At this stage how can a former Chief Minister who was at the helm of affairs not know what was happening around him? A clear fact that the Center had sidelined him. Another aspect that he constantly talks about is that Telangana won’t benefit from the bifurcation, technical details about the water projects which are in Seemandhra and how all the Govt., Educational, Health and other vital industries and institutions are located in the vicinity of Hyderabad which would mean Telangana won’t benefit any of these services.This repetitive talk with no clear cut agenda we have to wait and see what the poll results will be in response to all this.

Is Chiru making self-goals?

  Chiranjeevi being Chairman of Congress Campaigning Committee has to step into public from which he has been hiding all these months. But, each and every statement he made today is rather pointing at himself and his Congress party than his rivals.   He poses himself as honest and man of values, just for clinging to Congress party. If he is really honest and maintains high values, he would have stayed away from Congress party, which he owes to throw into Bay Of Bengal Sea, instead of merging his PRP with Congress party.   He says that those who are leaving the party turn themselves slaves to other party leaders. However, he conveniently ignores the fact that he too has surrendered himself to Sonia Gandhi to obtain union Minister Post. He rubbished the media reports and rival leaders statements of Congress being vacated in Seemandhra.   He said Congress strength lies in its workers and not in its leaders. So, Congress is as strong as ever. Perhaps he might have forgot to say that normally whenever a leader quits a party his followers also quit. So far more than a dozen leaders and hundreds of their followers have left the Congress party, but Chiranjeevi ignoring this fact asks the people also to ignore it.   He also stated that he is treating his brother Pawan Kalyan as his political rival. He said Congress will stall strong candidates against Janasena candidates. However, he is also well aware that his party not even able to find candidates to contest in Municipal elections. So, it is understood that he is just wearing a bold face to save the grace.   He also blames former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy for cheating the party and keeping them in dark. At the same he acknowledging him says that he has co-operated with party high command in bifurcation issue till last minute. Then he blames him for keeping them in dark. Chiranjeevi unknowingly confesses that he remain silent, when Kiran Kumar Reddy is co-operating with his high command on bifurcation issue.   Perhaps, Chiranjeevi has to appoint a better script writer urgently otherwise his self-goals will be enough to kick the Congress into Bay of Bengal.

Mumbai Shakti Mills gang rape accused get life Imprisonment

      In what could be termed as a speedy trial and justice, the Mumbai sessions court on Friday awarded life sentence to the four convicts for the gang rape of a telephone operator at the Shakti Mills compound in 2013. The accused will face imprisonment till the end of their natural lives. Meanwhile, the public prosecutor has sought death penalty for three of the accused who are also convicted for the gang rape of a photojournalist at the same location. The four convicts who were awarded the life term are Vijay Jadhav, Qasim Sheikh alias Bengali, Salim Ansari and Mohammad Ashfak Shaikh.The fifth accused, a minor in the telephone operator gang rape case, is being tried by the Juvenile Justice Board. After the case of the photojournalist in August 2013 was registered another victim a telephone operator had a filed a complaint that she was also raped at the same place in July 2013 by the three of the men who were also involved in the case of the photojournalist. The quantum of  sentence in the photojournalist’s case will be pronounced on March 24.

Thota Narasimham for TDP

      Former Congress minister Thota Narasimham joined the Telugu Desam Party today. A Kapu leader from East Godavari district he joined the TDP in the presence of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He is the sixth minister from the Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Cabinet to have quit the Congress .   Another former colleague of Kiran, D L Ravindra Reddy of Kadapa district, also met Chandrababu here today but there is no official confirmation as yet. Meanwhile, the senior-most Congress legislator J C Diwakar Reddy of Anantapuram district is also set to join the TDP on March 23rd , but there is stiff opposition from within  the TDP party cadre as to how they were treated  by the Congress in Tadipatri and  death of party workers in the faction violence which was prevalent  there. Another person Paritala Sunitha wife of slain leader Paritala Ravi also is said to have expressed her dissent about the JC brothers joining the party.

Expert committee for New Capital

      After a detailed discussion with the Group of Ministers chaired by Sushil Kuamr Shinde, Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh announced that after a detailed survey and analysis, 19 committees have been appointed to look into o each aspect of development and reconstruction of the State. The report would be available at the end of the month which would include vital areas like Water, Education and Electricity. Speaking about the official bifurcation of the state which will happen on June 2nd he said that an experts' panel would be formed to name the new capital is what he reiterated again which was already said in an announcement made on March 13th.   His announcement may trigger a fresh controversy as the Centre is yet to name the experts' committee to look into the issue of figuring out where the new capital should be.  

TDP likely candidates’ names for 3 distritcs

  The delay in having poll alliance with BJP holding back TDP from announcing list of its candidates’ names upcoming elections. Now, with Pawan Kalyan is also showing interest to have alliance with TDP and BJP, further delays this process. However, Chandrababu and his party managers are burning mid night oil for shortlisting the party candidates’ names. Chandrababu has almost finalized the names of 116 candidates out of 175 Assembly constituencies and awaiting BJP and Pawan Kalyan’s response.   According to reports here are the few names confirmed by him for three districts- Krishna, East and West Godavari.   Krishna District: There are total 16 constituencies in this district and Chandrababu has finalized the names of 12 candidates. They are Nandamuri Balakrishna (likely to contest) or YVB Rajendra Prasad (Penamaluru); Vallabhaneni Vamshi (Gannavaram); Devineni UmaMaheswararao (Mylavaram); Ravi Venkateswara rao (Gudiwada); Nallagatla Swamidasu (Tiruvuru); K.Sreeni or Bachchula Arjundu or Sambhasivarao or Notakki Venu (Noojiveedu); Chalamalashetty Ramanjineya or others (Kaikalooru); Sriram Tatayya (Jagayya peta); Bonda Uma Maehswara rao (Vijayawada Central); Nagul Meera or Buddha Venkanna (Vijayawada West); Yalamanchili Ravi (Vijayawada East); Mutthamshettuy Krishna Rao or Simhadri Chandrashekar or Mandali Buddha Prasad (If joins TDP) (Aavnigadda); Kagitha Venkatrao (Pedana);Varla Ramaih (Pamarru).   East Godavari: There are total 19 seats and Chandrababu has finalized the names of 12 names. Jagan’s tirade on the TDP

      YSRC Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy while addressed a large gathering in Ramachandrapuram, in East Godavari district went on a tirade against TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu and called him ‘dishonest’, ‘lacking credibility’ and a ‘big liar’, and that he had not implemented any of the schemes promised and did not ban liqueur as he promised to . The YSRCP leader promised to build 10 lakh houses, advocated the need for a university and an airport in each Seemandhra district and promised a mega city in Seemandhra if voted to power. Pinepe Viswaroop as the Lok Sabha candidate for Amalapuram and Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose as the nominee for Ramachandrapuram Assembly seat on behalf of the YSRCP party were introduced.
