      US Presidential candidate Donal Trump was one of the first US politicians to callSaturday's attack on the Orlando gay club, a terrorist strike. It turns out that Trump may be the most gay-friendly US Republican Presidential nominee ever. A head of a Republican group that supports gay rights, told news agencies this about Trump: "He will be the most gay-friendly Republican nominee for president ever." Not only did Trump in the past support equal rights for gay people, but also has actively spoken about the issue.

    PM looks to Putin for support on NSG

      Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on saturday, reached out to Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call seeking support for India's NSG bid. Russia has been supportive of India's global ambitions from the UN Security Council to the nuclear deal, though Modi's diplomatic focus has so far been on the US. Modi and Putin are also scheduled to meet soon.

    IAF MiG-27 crashes in Rajasthan

      The pilot of the MiG-27 which crashed earlier today in Rajasthan has ejected from the plan safely before it crashed. The fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in a residential area in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Monday morning. The fighter crashed about five kms from the Jodhpur IAF base.  A house was damaged in the crash. The pilot who was on a routine training mission had reported a technical problem and asked for a priority landing. But as the engine had failed, he had to eject immediately.

    50 dead in shooting at Gay nightclub in US

      In one of the worst shooting incidents in American history, an American-born man who'd pledged allegiance to ISIS shot down 50 people early Sunday at a gay nightclub in Orlando, US. More than 50 people are said to be wounded. This marked the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and the nation's worst terror attack since 9/11, authorities said. Orlando police later shot and killed the shooter.

      Chris Gayle, one of the explosive batsmen in the modern day cricket has recently penned his autobiography tittled, "Six Machine: I Don't Like Cricket...I Love It". And he has made some surprising revelations in the book. He claimed that West Indies Legend Brian Lara looked worried and was going on and on checking the scoreboard to see whether Gayle during his innings of 317 against South Africa in 2005 was getting closer to his record of 400 not out against England a year earlier.

Mr Azad, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, will replace Madhusudan Mistry as the in charge of Uttar Pradesh while Mr Nath will take over from Shakeel Ahmed in Punjab and Haryana.

    57 Applicants for India's Coach Post

    The BCCI has recently advertised inviting applications for the job of Indian cricket coach and has got a good response from within India and overseas as well. 57 applications have been received by them. Former Team Director Ravi Shastri and current chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil are the most notable names among the applications that the BCCI has received for the chief coach's position when the deadline closed on June 10. The names would be considered once they qualify in the mentioned criteria by BCCI.

    PM in Allahabad for key BJP meet

    BJP has kickstarted its 2day two-day national executive meet in Allahabad. This is to look for a winning formula for the next round of assembly elections in five states, especially the high-stakes battle in Uttar Pradesh. Senior cabinet ministers, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, party MPs and other senior leaders are participating in the conclave. PM Narendra Modi reached in Allahabad shortly before the conclave started and held a meeting with national office bearers to finalise its agenda. Party chief Amit Shah was also present at the meeting.

    JD(S) today has come out seriously against the cross voting issue in the party and has suspended its 8 rebel MLAs who voted against its official candidate and supported Congress in the biennial elections to fill four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka. Union Minister Nirmala Seetharaman and Congress' Jairam Ramesh, Oscar Fernandes and KC Ramamurthy had won Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka.

    Passengers wait inside Air India flight for 5hours

    Air India made around 200 passengers travelling to Bangkok spend more than 5 hours inside the aircraft owing to a last minute snag that could not be corrected due to lack of technicians availability. The flight was scheduled for take-off at 1:30 am, but did not do so until 5 in the morning. They passengers who became restless were then disembarked and asked to stay at the terminal. At around 11 am, the AI crew told passengers that the flight was rescheduled to 7:30 pm which is approximately 18 hours behind its original take off time.

    In a horrific incident, a Pakistan police constable beat a Hindu man, aged over 80 years, for eating and selling food before Iftaar in Ramzaan, triggering a social media campaign calling for justice for the elderly man.     May 2015 was bloodiest; 14K deaths on roads

    Indian roads are yet to be made safer for the commuters. There is yet another shocking statistic which has come to light with regards to how unsafe our roads are. May and March have been the cruelest months on roads  accounting for nearly 18 per cent of mishaps in each of the past two years, with May 2015 alone seeing 14,000 deaths. In May last year more than 14,000 people were killed and over 47,000 injured in 46,247 crashes. The number of accidents in May constitute more than 9 per cent of the total over 5 lakh road accidents throughout 2015 in which 1.46 lakh were killed and over 5 lakh injured.

    Another Nirbhaya in Delhi, Woman gangraped

    In a repeat of the horrific incident of Nirbhaya in Delhi, a girl was gangraped in a moving car. A 21-year-old woman has alleged that she was abducted and raped by three men in a Swift car and was later dumped on road. In her statement, she said the men took her around for over two hours, touched her inappropriately and when she tried to escape, she was raped,” a senior police officer said.

    Audi car suddenly burst into flames in Delhi

    It was almost like a second shot at life for a 32 year old businessman in Delhi. He had a close shave after the Audi car he was driving suddenly caught fire and was burnt into ashes within seconds in northwest Delhi on Saturday. When he saw smoke coming out from the bonnet of his car. He stopped the vehicle and stepped out. When the opened the lid of the bonnet, he saw flames and within minutes the car was burnt.  

    87 yrs Lady fights drug menace in Punjab

    The Udtha Punjab controversy has paved way to a lot of issues related to rampant drug abuse in Punjab coming to light. This time it is a news an 87 year old lady doctor who is fighting the drug menace in the state, in spite of her failing health. Dr Saroj Sanan was 66-year-old when she set up Red Cross Society De-addiction Centre in the heart of the city and rendered it her services for free till 2012, the year the centre was shut down for want of funds. Until four years ago, she was treating addicts; now, she is busy writing a book on how to take care of addicts and wants it to be available to the people for free.
