Talks between RTC employees’ union leaders and the RTC Managing director Sambhasiva Rao held today at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad were failed. Sambhasiva Rao left the meeting when a heated argument takes place with the union leaders. They strongly condemned his arrogant attitude and warned him that they will make complaint against him to the state government. They said his behavior doesn’t suit his status and need to be changed, if want to continue talks with them. They strongly condemned police lati-charge on the RTC employees in Chittoor. They demand their government lift the police cases filed on the RTC employees during the strike period. They said the strike will continue until all their demands are addressed.

Generally all these developments are quite common in any strike conducted by the RTC employees. Both groups may come to consensus only after all these things happen. State governments and the striking RTC employees both agree that RTC is in heavy loss and its situation is very bad. Even so, they let all these things happen because they want to create some pressure on each other to ensure they have the final word in the talks. But, both groups conveniently ignore the point that it will further worsen the RTC situation.

Later, in a week or two they will certainly strike a pact. But, neither the employees nor the state government will bear the loss occured due to their strike. They will simply transfer the burden on to the people without any guilty feeling and then political parties hits the roads protesting the hike in the fares, not for the people’s sake but to gain some political mileage out of it.
