Veteran actress Jayasudha, who is contesting for the Movie Artists Association President Post, has conducted a press meet today. She said “I am contesting these elections only after many people from the industry have promised to support me. So, I am confident of winning these elections. People are aware about my social service activities. If, I win these elections, I would like to spread my service to the film industry people also.”

“So far, only men are serving in this post. I want to prove that women are also equally capable to handle this post. But, I came to know that some politicians also are interfering in these elections, who do not want a woman to take charge of MAA. I will not succumb to their pressures. In fact, it strengthened my determination to contest the elections. I request all our industry people to keep away the politicians and politics from these elections for the sake of our film industry.”

But interestingly, Murali Mohan, the outgoing president of MAA and the TDP MP is campaigning for her. He said “Jayasudha is senior most person in the film industry. She is even senior to me and to Rajendra Prasad also. So, she deserves to be elected as MAA President.”

“Tanikella Bharani, Ali, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Naresh, Raghubabu, Charmi, Hema, Geetanjali and Shiva Parvathi are members of Jayasudha panel, whereas Rajendra Prasad is still unable to find members for his panel. So, I appeal all the people in the film industry to elect Jayasudha as MAA President,” said Murali Mohan.
