A simultaneous release of Nayak and SVSC films has given scope for a new debate on the quality and content of our Telugu films. Would these films were released on different periods, there would be no scope for this kind of debate. Since both of they are entirely different on ever aspect, film critics and movie lovers had a chance to give their verdict on Telugu films. People have made it clear that commercial films will be their second choice, when a pleasant film is available on screens. They do not think about its big budget or its heavy star cast, but it is the quality and concept they look for. They don’t see any thing wrong if big heroes, who were trapped in their own image, want to come out of it for doing soft films like this. A Telugu title will not be a disadvantage but it adds additional marks to the film. Presenting Telugu traditions, family values and bonds will not seen as a dull subjects but brings more viewers to the film. If a heroine has to play sister or sister-in-law role of the hero, or a top hero has to play elder brother or father role like Venkatesh and Prakash Raj did in the film SVSC, it won’t affect their image or confine them to do same kind of roles, instead if they could deliver their best they will be hugged by the audiences as their own family members. Anjali, who played as sister-in-law of Mahesh babu has bagged more marks than Samantha, who shakes legs with Mahesh babu in this film. People are keen about the story, concept, performance and presentation of a film rather than its lavish foreign shootings and commercial elements. People were forced to watch the violence and bloodshed in the action or commercial movies only because there were no soft films like SVSC. This clearly spells what people are wanting and what the industry is offering. Hope it will be an eye opener for industry biggies and bring us watch worthy films in future.
