Earthquake that tumbles Iran has left more than 40 people dead and huge loss of property. Pakistan and several northern Indian states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana including New Delhi have experienced the tremors yesterday. Fortunately, there is no loss of property or causalities reported. But, the people scared with the tremors ran out of their homes and offices. In New Delhi and the surrounding areas the magnitude of the quake is measured to be 6.3 or less. The tremors begin at 4.24 pm on Wednesday but dyes within few seconds.

According to India Meteorological Department the quake is very significant at its epicenter 33km beneath the surface, but considerably lost its magnitude when it reaches the surface, which saves the people. Yet, the 6.3 magnitude quake makes the sky scrappers of the city vulnerable, but fortunately they withstand the quake. According specialists the tremors felt earlier in the day in north eastern parts of India are unrelated to quakes in Iran.

The Nuclear Power Corporation of India has announced that its nuclear power plants located in northern regions were unaffected and safe.

However, there is heavy causalities and property loss reported from Pakistan and Iran. According to reports 20 people were died in Pakistan and more than 40 people in Iran. The toll may higher than it was reported in Iran as it bore the grunt of the 7.8 earthquake. Iranian Meteorological Department assessed the epicenter of the quake was situated 95 km north of the city of Saravan. The tremors spread between west of Iran and major parts of the Middle East. According to Iran, it was the most powerful quake that struck Iran during the last 4 decades.
