The High Court that earlier allows 200 farmers of the capital city zone to continue their agriculture activities in their farm lands, today again allows another 300 farmers, who approached it complaining against the AP state government. The farmers represented by their council complained to the court that they have given consent letters to the state government under pressures, but actually not willing to handover their farm lands to the government.

Responding to their petition, the High Court has issued interim orders to the state government on Thursday not to obstruct their agricultural activities and permits the 300 farmers to continue their agricultural activities in their lands, though they have given consent letters to the state government.

So far, total 500 farmers were allowed to continue agricultural activities in the lands that were handed over to the state government. No surprise if rest of the farmers also inspired with the court judgment, knock the court doors in the next few days. If so, the state government has to resolve this issue before thinking about laying foundation stone for the capital city in June 2nd week.

Earlier, in the last month minister P Narayana hints that the state government may be forced to use land acquisition act on the farmers, if they do not co-operate with the government. But, it would be a very risky decision for the TDP government, because it will create a negative impression of the government among the farmers community in the state and also provides a strong weapon to the opposition parties to fight against it. So, the state government has to handle this sensitive matter very carefully.
