Wal-Mart India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of world’s biggest retailer, on Tuesday launched its wholesale e-commerce platform bestpricewholesale.co.in for Hyderabad and Lucknow. The virtual store is exclusively for members of Best Price modern wholesale stores in the two cities, and provides a similar assortment of products, and special items for members, the company said in a statement. “This initiative is aimed at enhancing our members’ shopping experience by integrating physical and digital store presence,” said Krish Iyer, President and Chief Executive Officer, Wal-Mart India. “It represents an additional channel for us to serve our members better and help them save money as it comes with the added convenience of ordering online, door-step delivery within 24 hours and several payment solutions.”

The website will offer customers within a 40km radius the option of ordering online and picking up products from a physical cash-and-carry store or having them delivered, Iyer had said earlier in June. Wal-Mart is also planning to expand its presence to other cities where it has a physical presence by January.
