Botsa spells it otherwise

PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana has always been remain a bit different to his party leaders in making public statements. Soon after, the all party meeting concludes at New Delhi, he summoned the media at Hyderabad to tell them that it was a historical decision to set a deadline of 30days for resolving the decades-old Telangana issue. Then he saw, MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and some others explaining it in favor Unite Andhra, while the Telangana MPs had a sigh of relief for pro-telangana developments. In the mean time, Gade Venkata Reddy hitting at his rivals has stated that he has argued in favor of Unite Andhra and asserted that state is not going to divide anyway, followed by protests from his Telangana counterparts.  Then, Botsa contributing his share to controversy has declared that, whatever Gade Venkata Reddy said in the meeting was his personal opinion and it is no way reflects the party stand on Telangana issue. By condemning his statement, is he saying that Gade Venkata Reddy has been sent to meeting merely for namesake purpose to distract its rival parties? If so, is he acknowledging the stance given by their second representative Suresh Reddy, who spoke in favor division of the state? How is it possible to consider one’s statement is official and the other’s is unofficial, while both of they are representing the party?   It appears that Botsa either confused over the legitimacy of their representatives or indicating that the Congress party is going to take a decision in favor of Telangana formation.

No outcome from all party meeting

As expected by many the just concluded all party meeting brings no firm decision on division of the state. Home Minister Shinde, after hearing the views of the political parties has asserted to take a decision within one month on division of the state. Speaking to media he said he is happy with the way the meeting progressed peacefully and for the feedback that he gets in it. He said this is the last all party meeting on this issue.   Although, Congress leaders Suresh Reddy and Venkata Reddy participated in the meeting, they did not exactly gave their party stance on Telangana issue. While, Suresh Reddy speaks in support of Telangana, Gadhe Venkata Reddy suggests for Unite Andhra. Shinde, who is from Congress party prefers to collects the views expressed by the other parties as a Home Minister rather than revealing his party stance as a Congress party member.   TDP and YSR Congress parties have repeated the same what they have been telling all these years in their meetings. Both of they shift the entire responsibility onto Congress shoulders, thus pushing it into corner. They said that it is Congress party to take a decision on division of the state, for which they would like to abide.   MIM opposed bifurcation of the state. If at all need to be separated it demands for Rayala Telangana state rather than separate Telangana state. TRS, BJP and CPI speak in favor Telangana and as expected CPM oppose division of the state. However all the representatives made it clear that it is Center’s responsibility to resolve this burning issue.   TRS president K.Chandrashekar rao, who visibly seen irritated with the out come described it at another useless meeting. He also called for Telangana bandh tomorrow.

Who will be the next CS?

As the term of Minnie Mathew is coming to an end, the state government is busy with searching the successor for the lady. As per the information received so far, the government may show its inclination towards either I.V.Subba Rao or I.Y.R.Krishna Rao, both of whom belongs to 1979 batch. Subba Rao is presently serving in London with UNESCO and the latter is the Special Chief Secretary of the marketing department in Hyderabad.     However, the state government may not consider the name of M Samuel (1978 batch), the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration which post is considered as the next to Chief Secretary, as the CBI is investigating on him. So, the government may not choose him as there are no past instances of appointing such persons in the coveted CS post.   Another senior IAS officer M Chaya Ratan (1977 batch) is also retiring soon.   Both Indrajit Pal and J Sathyanarayana, both belonging to 1977 batch, are serving in Delhi in various ministries as secretaries to Government of India and the government may not opt to call them back. Of them, Satyanarayana is not interested to return to the state service.   Rajen Habib Khwaja (1976 batch), the seniormost of all the present contenders for the post, is also a secretary at centre and some leaders are trying hard to bring him to Hyderabad to head the state administration. It is reported that he has the blessings of Congress Incharge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Gulam Nabi Azad.   Considering the various points, the chances for either Subba Rao or Krishna Rao are appearing brighter to head the bureaucracy in Andhra Pradesh.

President’s son tongue slip

The students protests in New Delhi while gradually calming down, Abijith Mukharji, son President of India Pranab Mukharji has stirred controversy with his statements against women who participate protest.   In an interview given to a private TV Channel, he said “I don’t think all those who participate in the protests are real students and probably it may be the handy work of some opposition parties. Being one time student, I know how the students behave and how they react to this kind of problems. Nowadays, it becomes a fashion to hit the streets conducting candle marches and so on. Some women with dent and paint were seen speaking to TV channels, whom I think were chasing for two-minute fame. I don’t think they are really students. Their age factor also doesn’t match a college student outfit.”   Mukharji despite being the son of President of India, is also a responsible Congress MP, who represents Jangipur constituency in West Bengal. Hence, his rude remarks leave one and all in deep shock.   Here is his statement in his own words. "I would term the protests in Delhi as what is popularly known as Pink Revolution. It is becoming fashionable to land up on the streets with candle in hand. Such people are completely disconnected from reality. They go to discotheques. I am very well versed with student activism and I can bet on it that most of the protesters are not students. They are dented and painted women chasing two minutes on fame, giving interviews on TV. The protesters do not fall in the age group of students."   Obviously, his insolent remarks made against them fumes the students brings them back on to Delhi streets demanding an unconditional apology from him. Abijith, immediately withdrew his words and apologized the students. His sister, Sharmishtha Mukherjee shocked to hear her brother’s remarks has said his statement doesn’t reflect their family values. She apologized on behalf of her brother.
