Is ED and CBI going to fix Jagan before elections
Although, CBI appears to be more active in dealing with Jagan’s illegal assets cases, enforcement directorate is also systematically clamping upon his other cases. So far ED has attached Rs.300 crore worth properties in connection with his cases and is planning for further attachments soon. According to unconfirmed reports, ED is now eyeing his fort-like palaces in Hyderabad and Bangalore cities for further attachments to recover an equal amount that may be around 250-300 crores.
If, his family members and party leaders’ allegations are to be believed that CBI and ED have turned instruments in Congress hand, then it may usher them to completely fix him before the elections, so as to elbow him out of the forthcoming elections battle. In such case, if CBI is assigned to fix in him in jail, ED is likely make a clean sweep of his assets emptying his pockets just before the elections. Ultimately, it will discourage the new comers to join his party, while forcing the old horses leave him to ensure party tickets in some other parties.
On the other side, Supreme Court is also seems not happy with his cases. It reflects during the arguments on his bail petition takes place in the last month. Even if he obtains bail in September, ED may take its turn to bring him back to jail.
Hence, the only way out appears to be either a patch-up with Congress party or merger with it. But, Congress high command too knows that if he secures bail ahead of the elections, then it has to forget about returning to power in the state, as his influence on the rural voters can’t be ruled out so easily.
