Geeta Reddy upsets with Tainted tag

Minister Geeta Reddy one among the accused by the CBI in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets cases is quite upset to hear TDP MLA mentioning her as tainted minister in the assembly. When, TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar rao asks speaker Nadendla Manohar, why was the government hesitating to take action on tainted ministers, Geeta Reddy objects him for using word tainted against her. She asked TDP MLA, how he can brand her as tainted when she was not proved guilty by any court. She asked whether Chandrababu, who also faces several allegations but got bail can be tagged with tainted? She said the word ‘Tainted’ is nothing but a media creation and hence, she appealed the speaker to remove the word from records. Even former ministers Sabita Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada rao, who lost their posts on the same reasons also argues that they shouldn’t be branded as tainted.

JD (U) likely snap ties with NDA

The elevation of Narendra Modi as chief of election campaigning committee not only irks its leaders like Advani and others but also NDA alliance partner JD (U) leaders. Its main leader, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is firmly opposing any elevation of Modi status in BJP. Hence, JD (U) leaders are meeting soon to decide whether to continue in NDA or to snap ties. However, since the party is now solely depends on Nitish Kumar, it is likely to snap ties with NDA following his interests. Its president Sarad Yadav has told the media that they will announce their decision in a couple of days.   If, JD (U) snaps its ties with NDA, then BJP may withdraw its support to Nitish Kumar government in Bihar. Currently, Nitish government is having 118 MLAs out of 243 members in the Assembly. BJP is supporting Nitish government with its 91 members. However, JD (U) believes that there will be no immediate threat for the government even if BJP withdraws its support to it.

TDP to participate in Chalo Assembly program

T-TDP forum leaders Errabelli Dayakar rao and Motkupalli Narasimhulu have announced that TDP too will participate in the ‘Chalo Assembly’ program to be conducted by T-JAC on June 14th. They said though didn’t received any invitation from T-JAC asking to join them, they would like to voluntarily participate in this program. They said that T-JAC should act independently rather remotely operated by TRS party president K.Chandrashekar rao.   T-TDP leaders decision to join the program organized by T-JAC, indicates that they would like to have a patch-up with TRS if its leaders reciprocates with same spirits. The other reason might be TDP, which is blamed for maintaining dual standards on Telangana issue, plans to prove its honesty by participating in this program. Chandrababu’s protest at Indira Park over Bayyaram mines allotment to Vizag steel is also indicates that there is drastic change in TDP attitude towards Telangana issue. However, Chandrababu should realize that unless he openly spell his mind about Telangana issue all these things will not yield any positive results for TDP.

High court suggests approach SC on JD transfer issue

A private petition has been filed in the High Court by an advocate, who appeals it to order the government not to relieve the CBI Joint Director Lakshmi Narayana. The court which take-up the petition yesterday has asked the petitioner to file a supplementary affidavit stating whether the transfer issue can be taken-up by the court or not. It also suggest the petitioner to approach either Supreme Court or New Delhi high court in this regard.   This indicates that the court doesn’t wants to interfere in this routine process of the transfer of CBI officer, unless it believes there is proper reason and clause for it. CBI JD Lakshmi Narayana has returns to his home cadre in Maharashtra on 11th June as his deputation period in the state was over on June 10th. All the cases that he is handling so far will be handed over to Arunachalam, the CBI JD of Chennai, who is currently at Netherlands on some case.   Lakshmi Narayana said investigation on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cases has almost completed and hence his transfer will not effect the case anyway, come whoever takes-up the case.

    Advani Resignation drama over

BJP senior leader LK Advani withdraws his resignation after party president Rajnath Singh, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagawat and other senior leaders asserting him that his demands will be addressed in the parliamentary board meeting very soon. They convinced him that making Narendra Modi as chief of election campaign doesn’t mean that he was declared as Prime Ministerial candidate of the party. Therefore, Advani agrees to withdraw his resignation letter. Party president Rajnath Singh has announced this to media at New Delhi yesterday.

Kiran wise plan to eliminate rivals

Kiran Kumar Reddy has played a very wise game to eliminate his rivals in the cabinet. Major Industries minister J. Geeta Reddy and Social welfare minister Pitani Satyanarayana were temporarily given charge of Home ministry and Roads & Buildings portfolios vacated by Sabita Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada rao simultaneously. Although it is only intended to meet the Assembly business purpose only, the move made by CM Kiran Kumar Reddy clearly spells his mind. He doesn’t wants his anti-leaders to take-up the key posts. Especially, he doesn’t want his deputy Damodara Rajanarasimha take-up the home ministry post. Based upon the reactions over this temporary arrangement, he may convince the party high command to make it as a permanent arrangement. This will leave no space for his rivals like Jana Reddy, Damodara Rajanarasimha and all others who are in fray for home minister post. However, it will be proved yet another big mistake if CBI makes any move against her in the days to come.

    CBI summons Dharmana and Sabita

CBI court has served notices to former ministers Dharmana Prasada rao and Sabita Indra Reddy yesterday asking them to appear before the court on 12th June in connection with memo filed against them by CBI seeking their custody for their statement made to press after they resign to their posts. However, court will take-up Dharmana’s case on 13th as the CBI has requested the court to consider PC act in dealing with his case. Both the ministers, who now deserted by the government will have to fight their on own with CBI in Jagan disproportionate assets cases. But, if they are taken into CBI custody, obviously they also may distance from the party.

Bail granted for Sreeshanth and Chouhan

Delhi trial court grants conditional bail for cricketers Sreeshanth, Ankit Chouhan and 19 others, who were arrested in spot fixing charges. However, Ajay Chandila will not be released from jail as he doesn’t apply for bail. The two cricketers and the rest will be released from Tihar jail on Tuesday only, as they still have to submit necessary documents. The court orders the cricketers not to leave the country and to surrender their passports.

LK Advani Resigns From BJP Posts

Senior party leader LK Advani on Monday resigned from all posts of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The resignation came a day after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was appointed the head of the party’s election campaign committee for 2014 Lok Sabha elections.   In a letter written to BJP president Rajnath Singh, Advani said he is resigning from the national executive, parliamentary board and election committee. A dejected Advani, who did not attend the party’s three-day conclave in Goa, wrote in the letter, “The direction in which the party is going is not the way it was planned by the party's founders.” “I find it difficult to work with people who are concerned only with personal agenda,” the veteran wrote further, describing several party leaders as selfish. He added that he “no longer has the feeling that the BJP is still the idealistic party it was founded to be”.

TSR slaps legal notices to Daggubati

The fight between Congress MLA Daggubati Venkateswara rao and Rajya Sabha member T.Subbirami Reddy takes a new turn with latter slapping legal notices to Daggubati. Few days ago, Daggubati has levied several serious allegations against TSR.   He alleges that TSR was arrested for selling cement in black market while he was doing contracts in Nagarjun Sagar dam construction work. TSR has not only condemned his allegations but also demanded for unconditional apology from Daggubati for making baseless allegations against him or else warned to file defamation case for Rs.5 crores against him. But, Daggubati welcomed TSR’s proposal for legal battle.   He said that if dares to drag him to court, then he will be obliged to reveal many more such things about TSR in the court. But, TSR appears to be determined to drag Daggubati to court for defaming him. In his notices, he asked Daggubati to either prove the allegations or be ready to face civil and criminal cases.   TSR appears to take this drastic step in wake of his interest in contesting to Lok Sabha seat from Visakhapatnam. He might have thought that it will help him in projecting himself as a clean person in the politics. But, at the same time, he may land in further troubles if Daggubati reveals any new scams about him.

JD says Not received relieving orders!

Media is abuzz with the reports of CBI Joint Director Lakshmi Narayana was asked to return to his home cadre Maharashtra on June 10th as his 7 years extended deputation period ends. Media also reports that Chennai CBI Officer Arunachalam is given additional charge of Hyderabad.   However, Lakshmi Narayana has told the media on Saturday, that so far he has not intimated about his transfer to home cadre or not received any letter from office head quarters in this regard. He said he is also seeing the reports in the media about his transfer. He said he has never got an extension to handle the cases but got it because of rules and regulations only. He said transfers of the concerned officers will not have any effects on any cases. He also stated that he wants to interrogate both Sabita and Dharmana Prasada rao in connection with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets cases, if the court allows him to take them into his custody.   If JD is to be believed, then the media reports about his transfer may be mere speculations or else it might be a mind game played by someone to influence the officer. However, JD’s statement come as a blow for YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy and to his party leaders.

CBI catches Dharmana and Sabita by tongue

Former ministers Dharmana Prasada rao and Sabita Indra Reddy had a jolt at CBI court yesterday. CBI has produced the CDs that have video footage of their press statements, made soon after they submit resignations to their posts.   They both stated that, they are not guilty and confident of coming out clean. CBI has wisely used their statements to seek their judicial remand. It argues that they are influencing the evidences with their false assurances, while projecting that they were wrongly implicated by the CBI. The two ministers, who lost the backing and immune of the government now caught with their own statements.   CBI argues that if they are allowed to roam free, they may influence the evidences the way they tried now before the media. However, the trial court has adjourned the case of their judicial custody to June 21st. If, their lawyers fail to fight out CBI lawyers, then they too may be forwarded to Chanchalguda Jail.

    Advani skips crucial meetings

BJP senior leader Lal Krishna Advani, who is opposing Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s leadership for the upcoming elections, has sent a strong message to party by abstaining from the crucial national executive board meetings of the party that begins from yesterday. However, it was said that he couldn’t attend the meetings due to his ill health. But, his close aides Shatrughan Sinha, Uma Bharathi and Jaswanth Singh, who also opposes Modi’s leadership absconds the first day of the meetings with same reasons. Party president Rajnath Singh has asserted that Advani and his followers will attend today’s meeting definitely. It is learnt that he is pursuing him to attend the meeting without fail as it will send a wrong signals to their rival Congress party. But, Advani is said to be insisting him to promise that Modi issue will not be taken-up in the meetings. Since, BJP is vertically divided over Modi factor in the party, he too couldn’t give any assurances to him in this regard. So, Advani & Co’s unlikely to attend today’s meeting also. Congress party, which is eagerly waiting for an opportunity to pinch the BJP, grabs this chance and stated “It appears BJP leaders are falling ill with the ‘Namo’nite virus that is spreading very fast in the BJP and keeps its leaders away from the meetings. ‘Namo’ is Gujarat government’s official TV channel. The title Namo also spells as the short form of Narendra Modi.

    Cabinet meeting concludes peacefully

Cabinet meeting headed by chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy concludes peacefully today, as if the members were warned by the party high command to behave themselves. Hence, the three and half hours long meeting was able to take several important decisions unanimously. The cabinet approved the proposal to divide the SC, ST Sub Plan bill into two separate bills. However, as the cabinet differs on Bangaru Talli Padakam, a sub committee will be formed to study the details and feasibility of this scheme. Some other proposals for filling-up vacant posts in few departments were also approved in this meeting. Overall, the meeting goes smooth to the relief of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.

BJP divided over executive meeting agenda

The three day BJP National executive meetings will commences from today at Goa. The meeting are mainly intended to chalk out an action plan for facing forthcoming Assembly elections of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi in December.   However, BJP is divided on whether to discuss Narendra Modi’s issue in these meetings or not. Senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Advani and some others are opposing any discussion about Modi take-over of the party leadership as its Prime Ministerial candidate. However, party president Rajnath Singh and few others wants to pass a resolution approving Modi’s candidature.

CBI also seeks judicial custody of former minister Dharmana Prasada rao in the same case. CBI argues that Dharmana and Sabita’s media statements and interviews negatively affects the case. However, the court has adjourned the case of the memo to June 21st. Sabita was alleged to be allotted lands to Dalmia Cements Company in quid pro method that ultimately benefits Jagan Mohan Reddy.
