Advani skips crucial meetings
BJP senior leader Lal Krishna Advani, who is opposing Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s leadership for the upcoming elections, has sent a strong message to party by abstaining from the crucial national executive board meetings of the party that begins from yesterday. However, it was said that he couldn’t attend the meetings due to his ill health. But, his close aides Shatrughan Sinha, Uma Bharathi and Jaswanth Singh, who also opposes Modi’s leadership absconds the first day of the meetings with same reasons. Party president Rajnath Singh has asserted that Advani and his followers will attend today’s meeting definitely. It is learnt that he is pursuing him to attend the meeting without fail as it will send a wrong signals to their rival Congress party. But, Advani is said to be insisting him to promise that Modi issue will not be taken-up in the meetings. Since, BJP is vertically divided over Modi factor in the party, he too couldn’t give any assurances to him in this regard. So, Advani & Co’s unlikely to attend today’s meeting also. Congress party, which is eagerly waiting for an opportunity to pinch the BJP, grabs this chance and stated “It appears BJP leaders are falling ill with the ‘Namo’nite virus that is spreading very fast in the BJP and keeps its leaders away from the meetings. ‘Namo’ is Gujarat government’s official TV channel. The title Namo also spells as the short form of Narendra Modi.
