And the Rest of Andhra Votes tomorrow

The Seemandhra party bugles are quiet & tired and so are the all party leaders who have been on a back to back campaign spree for the past few days to canvass for their respective parties. The People of Rest of Andhra Pradesh will be deciding their fate as they go to vote to elect 25 members of Lok Sabha and 175 members of the Assembly on Wednesday, May 6th .   A crucial moment and whoever gets elected will go down in Indian History as the new Government after the bifurcation of the State of Andhra Pradesh. It is hardly a month away before the State ceases to be AP and will be known as Telangana and Rest of Andhra. A total of  3.67 crore voters , 333 candidates for Lok Sabha and 2241 for Assembly seats  are in the fray. The main battle is between , TDP-BJP combine, Congress, Jagan’s YSRCP, JSP which is already losing its steam, and other independent candidates. TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu has a do or die battle to win as these elections would be the deciding factor for his existence in politics. For some he seems to be the only hope for a good leadership considering his experience in the past  as the Chief Minister where he governed the state for 9 years. The Congress Party leadership under Raghuveera Reddy is not an impressive contender and so are the rest of the leaders. Apart from that they are caught up in their own internal squabbles for the hot seat. Jagan’ s YSRCP is also slowly going the down trend and we have to see how his mother Vijayamma fares in the Vizag parliamentary turf . It is also reported that there is widespread distribution of money and also using the Christian card to buy votes.Apart from that Jagan and his coterie who are constantly in the radar for the numerous corruption cases which include the OMC case ,Illegal assets case and many others which will continue to haunt him could prove to be a deterrent in the polls. May 16 will be the deciding day for Andhra Pradesh and meanwhile the Governor ESL Narasimhan has set May 15th as deadline for the officials to complete all the formalities with regard to the bifurcation of the state very diligently.

Congress leaders sure about defeat

Sonia Gandhi has planned to retire from active politics after settling her son Rahul Gandhi in Prime Minister Chair. So, first she promoted him to party vice president post. Then she made Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh announce his (voluntary) retirement from his post after the elections. Later, Rahul has been given charge of the party for leading it in the elections. However, his mother has stopped the party announcing him as PM candidate as if she foresees the defeat of her party well ahead of all others in the party and now she is proved to be right. All the survey reports have no difference of opinion in Congress party defeat.   As the elections are nearing completion, Congress has realized the reports are genuine and so, it looks for alternative options to safeguard the interests of its Prince Rahul Gandhi. Congress may not be efficient in ruling the country, but it’s quite smart in safeguarding its own political interests. So, to prevent Modi from occupying the PM Chair, Congress announced its readiness to support Third Front. But, Rahul always differs with his own party ideas. He declared that he would like to sit in the opposition benches than supporting Third Front.   His sister Priyanka Gandhi also today confirmed that no party will get majority. In other words, she is declaring Congress party will be defeated in the elections. While the two top leaders Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi are quite sure about their party defeat. Back in Seemandhra Jairam Ramesh also made similar predictions for the party in Seemandhra. He said Congress may win in Telangana but not sure in Seemandhra. Perhaps, many other Congressmen like him in other states also may have similar views for their part in their respective states.   Hence, Sonia Gandhi's dream to install his son in PM Chair seems to be remote, even after dividing the state into two for his sake. Probably, the curses of crores of Seemandhra people, ruin the electoral chances of Congress and thus the political future of its Prince.

Four JSP candidates drops from race

It seems stars are not favoring former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy ever since he left his post and party. Many leaders have deserted him before and after launching of his Jai Samaikyandhra party. After seeing the poor response to his road shows and meetings, he dropped from the elections race, instead fields his brother Santosh Reddy in his place from Pileru. It makes him a laughing stock in the state politics. His rivals described it as fleeing away from elections fearing defeat.   Since, he launched his political party solely banking upon Samaikyandhra sentiment, it prevent him and his party candidates talking about development activities or about constructing new capital. So, they are forced to assure the people that if they are elected will re-unite the state. But, Supreme Court has refused to consider Kiran and other’s plea for granting a stay on bifurcation. So, this would a jolt in the ribs for Kiran and his party candidates.   Even before the apex court takes-up the petitions, four candidates of JSP contesting from Macharla, Vinukonda, Narasaraopeta and Gurajala dropped from elections race and also joined TDP in the presence of Rayapati Sambhasiva rao, who is contesting from Narasaraopet to Lok Sabha. Perhaps, Kiran Kumar Reddy also may merge his JSP into Congress party, like Chiranjeevi did in the past. However, he can’t expect any favor because Congress is not going to win either in Andhra or at Centre, as asserted by Rahul, Priyanka and Jairam Ramesh.

Jairam Ramesh playing double game again

There is no surprise if Pawan Kalyan criticizes Jagan Mohan Reddy, because his on opposite side standing with TDP and BJP. But, the Congress agent Jairam Ramesh is also criticizing Jagan and describing YCP as duplicate party makes the people very much surprised, because Jagan Mohan Reddy is alleged to be secret friend of Congress high command. If, Jagan is elected to power, he is expected to extend his party MPs support to Congress party to form the government at Centre headed by Rahul Gandhi.   Then, why is Jairam asking the people not to vote Jagan and his YSR Congress party? Why is he stating YCP is a duplicate party? Knowing that Congress party electoral chances are blink in Seemandhra, if he could convince the people with his arguments and ensure Jagan’s party defeat, then how can Congress get his support anyway? Here are the answers to all those questions. Congress is well aware that it can’t win the elections at any cost because people are furious on it for dividing the state. It is also very much aware about the popularity of Jagan Mohan Reddy. So, Congress begin playing mind game with people of Andhra again. It wants provoke the people as much as it can. That’s why it intentionally picked Jairam Ramesh, who played key role in bifurcation. Now, he is intentionally slinging mud against Jagan Mohan Reddy only to provoke the people further against his own party so that Congress will face the heat, while transferring full benefit to Jagan Mohan Reddy, whom he is accepting as duplicate of his Congress party. Ultimately, he will return the favor after the elections by supporting Congress led UPA government.

Whom to vote, whom to rely?

Hardly five days left for polling in Seemandhra. However, the two main contenders TDP and YCP are confusing the people with their quite opposite arguments. Both parties argue that they alone are honest and the other is a traitor. They claim that they alone can give a good governance and capable to build a new capital with international standards. All other parties like JSP, Loksatta, Aam Admi including Congress believed to be have no role to play in this elections battle. So, the fight between two big players intensifies as the D-Day is closing in.   However, people of Seemandhra are still searching for answers to two questions. Whom to be punished for bifurcation and who is to be rewarded for fighting against the bifurcation. It is evident all the contenders in this election battle have contributed their own part in the bifurcation, but none including Congress is agreeing it. Even Kiran Kumar Reddy who plans to tap the votes with his Jai Samaikyandhra party is also an offender in this whole affair, but claims he is the real Samaikyandhra champion. Whichever party fights to keep the state united, did so only to win the hearts of people and certainly not to stop the division of the state. So, it is understood that none of the parties are honest in this regard. So, all parties may not get a single vote, if people prefer to cast their votes based on this issue.   So, the next question is which party is honest and which is capable to build the new capital. It is evident that Congress and TDP have that experience and ability but Congress lacks honesty. YCP has neither has any administrative experience nor has any idea about building a whole new city. Its President Jagan Mohan Reddy’s CBI track record and probability of resuming his cases and returning to jail is a big disadvantage to his party. TDP having alliance with a winning party BJP and its prime minister candidate Narendra Modi’s assurance to extend full support to the state gives edge over the other two in this regard. So, if people prefer to cast their votes on this base, definitely TDP will get advantage of it.
