      WARREN:  In a speech, Hillary Clinton, US presidential candidate, said, “My jobs and tax plans will better help middle-class Americans than the plans released by Republican rival Donald Trump, earlier this week” at a Michigan Factory To contrast herself with Trump, Clinton has gone through many of the policies over the last year. Democratic nominee Clinton said that, that’s true that too often past trade deals had been sold to the American people with rosy scenarios that didn’t pan out and the answer was to finally make free trade for them, not against them.She promised not to support TPP even as a president and gave  a message to every worker in Michigan as well as across America that, she would stop any trade deal that kills jobs or that holds down the wages, which includes the Trans-Pacific partnership.

    Two pilots were suspended, as they were found drunk.

      NEW DELHI: DGCA suspended two pilots, when they were found drunk on the arrival of Air India’s and Jet airways’ overseas flights in India. The two airlines, to which the pilots belong, were directed to register FIR against the pilots.As per the sources, the cabin crew member of Air India was also suspended as traces of alcohol were found after the post flight checks.The aviation regulator, due to the serious violations, wrote to both the airlines to register First Information Reports (FIR) against the concerned pilots, as per the sources.

    PM Modi asks the law makers, who are demanding hike?

      NEW DELHI:  The lawmakers’ delegation, which met the Prime Minister with a petition, was told that the members should help the government to cut down the expenditure, by Narendra Modi. The law makers are demanding for hike in their salary, but the government is not likely to agree the same.On Monday, a delegation, which includes all the members of BJP met the Prime Minister with a petition, which was signed by over 250 law makers. The petition was a request for increase in the MPs’ allowance as well as for salary hike of the law makers to develop their constituencies.The congress law maker of Bihar, Ranjeeta Rajan, said that the expenses are high and the salaries are quite low and the people from their constituencies come to Delhi and expect them to help them.Sitaram Yechury from the CPM said that the lawmakers shouldn’t decide their own pay and there should be a committee of outsiders to say what should be their hike.

    The main reason for the split with Sania: Martina Hingis

      Martina Hingi and Sania Mirza were separated due to recent poor results, on Monday. In 2015, the duo took the world of tennis by storm. They have won nine titles on the whole, which includes three grand slam titles. It seemed that Santina would receive many more titles. They have started their partnership by banging three titles at India wells, Charleston and Miami in the year 2015. Martina-Sania’s partnership has become world number one as they won the Charleston event. They have also won Wimbledon doubles and 2015 US open with their partnership, but to the poor results that took place recently they have decided to end their partnership.

    A Pilot of Air India was arrested for smuggling

      Mumbai: one of the Air India’s senior pilots got arrested for allegedly carrying bars of gold worth Rs 16 lakh.The pilot kept the gold bars inside of his check-in and hand baggage. During routine checks, he was found carrying nearly 600 grams of gold.An official of the Air Intelligence unit, customs department, said that the gold bars were seized from the senior pilot’s possession and he was also found guilty for concealment, possession and carriage of the bars which were being smuggled. He was later released on bail and there was no immediate action or comment from Air India.

    After bomb threats, two planes land safely: Brussels

      BRUSSELS:  After receiving threats for a bomb blast, VRT, the Belgian state broadcaster reported on Wednesday evening that two aircrafts were landed safely at Zaventem airport, Brussels. Eric Van Der Sypt, the State Prosecutor said, “Our office has received information about possible bomb alerts and have opened an investigation for the same.”He also added that, “Bomb squad has not been called to the airport.”  Raes said that, the passengers were given instructions to wait ten minutes after the plane is landed and before leaving. They were also informed about the threats. The media of Belgium said, “Some other planes have been diverted to other airports”.

    Heavy rains hampered traffic in Delhi.

      New Delhi: Heavy rains hampered traffic around many parts of Delhi causing potholes and water logging, which resulted in long tail backs on many arterial roads, on Wednesday evening. A senior traffic police official said that, people made calls to the police and they had received over 2000 complaints of heavy traffic and water logging until 9.50 PM on Wednesday.Commuters faced tough time due to the traffic jams on different stretches and the rain lasted for an hour.Due to demonstrations with vehicles getting stuck for hours, the parliament road was closed for an hour.

    Selfie ban at historic places: Delhi

      Delhi:  On the occasion of Independence Day, Indian tourism department announced that, clicking selfies is prohibited at historic places for a week.From 12th of August to 18th of August, taking selfies at important historic places is banned and the same orders were passed on to all the states of the country. The government ordered all the states, considering the safety measures of Independence Day Celebrations.The police requested Indian tourism as well as the archeology survey to implement restrictions on the visitors near important historic places as there are chances of terrorist attacks on Independence Day.

    Bumper offers to the Ola drivers.

      Chennai: Ola cabs’ organization got good news for the drivers and the business partners who are working for Ola. Ola would be providing loans within 30 minutes based on the necessities of the partners as well as the drivers. The organization has been tied up with Flexi Loans Technologies for the same. They can avail this facility by uploading the required documents via online.Ola announced that Felxi Loans Technologies came forward to provide loans to the employees and partners up to Rs. One lakh, which would be done through online services and also that the payment can be performed in monthly installments. This facility will be provided mainly to the star drivers and top rated driver partners in the process of eliminating the difficulties faced by them. Initially these services would be experiment in Mumbai and Bangalore, based on the results, services would be spread all over India.

    Drones to monitor traffic: Maharashtra

    Maharashtra: To control, identify as well as monitor traffic the government of Maharashtra is considering drones. Deepak Kesarkar, minister of state for home said, “Initially drones will be put in place on a pilot basis on the Mumbai-Pune expressway, which has become a death trap with large number of casualties reported lately”. He added that, mostly heavy loaded trucks jump lanes to overtake other vehicles which cause a traffic jam and the drones would click photos of such instances, so that the transport department could take possible action against such drivers. He also noted that, four to five drones would be hired for the expressway from the private companies and based on the result, the home department would consider using drones across the city of Mumbai.

    ACB raid on JMCA officer Madhava Rao’s residence

    Vishakhapatnam: ACB officers carried out a raid on the residence of Madhava Rao, who is working as an assistant executive engineer at Greater Vishaka Municipal Corporation. On Wednesday morning, under the control of ACB DSP Ramakrishna Prasad raids were carried on the residences of Madhava Rao, his relatives and his friends at a time and found approximately over Rs.1 crore 50 lakh worth assets for which he was not allegedly accountable. The officers found 20 tolas gold, 8 acres of land in Devarapalli, 300 yards land in Bheemili, 36 tolas gold in the locker of his daughter’s father in law at Pendurti and they also found cash in the locker of Canara Bank. They have registered case and are in the process of enquiring Madhava Rao.   

    Goa Independence Day Special “Patolleanchem Fest of Sweets”.

    The Goa Tourism department said that, the Goan sweet is made of rice and jaggery encased in a leaf of turmeric and it is a unique festival which honors the sweet dish called “Patello” Traditionally, Patolleanchem was celebrated amongst the villagers by preparing as well as distributing the dish. Visitors were then treated to traditional performances of artists as well as locals and also to the Goan fare. Guests were also given a share of homemade Patello as a token of gift.  The department also stated that various stalls were also put up displaying a variety of handicrafts and wares made by locals. The Goan bands also grace occasion with catchy tunes as well as Konkani favorites.

    Spice Jet Airways Independence day offer

      SpiceJet is offering fares starting at Rs 300 on selected domestic routes, as they have launched “Great Independence Day Sale” on Tuesday. Bookings for the same will be open until 11th of August and would be applicable for those who are travelling between 18th of August to 30th of September. Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Amritsar-Srinagar, Bangalore-Chennai, Bangalore-Kochi, Jammu-Srinagar, Mumbai-Goa and Coimbatore-Hyderabad are some of the selected domestic routes on which the offer would be applicable. Number of seats available on this offer was not disclosed by SpiceJet but they have informed that, the statutory taxes on the tickets are refundable.

    Brahmachari Vrajvihari Sharan..first director for Hindu life

    Washington: In recognition of increase in the number of Hindu students, a top University of US appointed a full-time director for Hindu life for the first time. Interim Vice President for Mission and Ministry of the University, Rev Howard Gray, said that, he was pleased to announce the appointment of Brahmachari as Georgetown’s first full-time director and the first Hindu priest chaplain in the US. Mr. Vrajvihari, earlier served as honorary Hindu chaplain in the university of Edinburgh and now joins the university of Georgetown. Mr. Sharan told Hindu student, in a message, that, he was looking forward to meet each and every wonderful as well as dynamic student when they return. He also asked them to feel free to message him with any questions or say hi if they were already on campus.

    Ravindra Jadeja was fined with Rs 20,000

    Ahmedabad: Ravinder Jadeja, after paying a fine of Rs. 20,000, for clicking a selfie with the lion which is strictly prohibited by law, was let off at Gir Wildlife Sanctuary by Gujarat forest department. A P Singh, Chief Conservator of Forests, Junagadh said that the inquiry report was yet to be sent to the authorities and they had collected Rs 20,000 from the Indian cricketer, Jadeja, for breaking the rules during his visit inside the sanctuary in June. Mr.Singh noted that inquiry report and penalty are two different things and the inquiry report would be sent to higher authorities after they finalize the report. He also added that actions against forest staff would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry report.

    Three doctors, a Director and a CEO were arrested

      Mumbai: The CEO, Director and three doctors of Dr LH Hiranandani hospital were arrested on Tuesday in Mumbai, for their ostensible involvement in a kidney sale racket. Dr Anurag Naik (the Director), Dr Sujit Chattarjee(the CEO), Dr Mukesh Shah, Dr Prakash Shetty and Dr Mukesh Shete were arrested and took the total number of arrests to 12 in reference to the kidney selling racket. Police started investigation, when they were tipped off that illegal kidney transplantations were being performed based on fake documentation, which involves many from the Hiranandani hospital. Following the same, seven were arrested in the month of July.   The spokesperson of the hospital said, “we are conducting an internal inquiry and will only comment once it is over”. Police said that the doctors were charged under The Transplantation of Human Organ Act, 1994 and would be produced in the court on Wednesday.

    Assets worth 130 Crore were hidden by AAP Legislator

      NEW DELHI: according to the tax officials, Kartar Singh, an Aam Aadmi party’s legislator, holds 130 crore worth assets that were not accountable by him. Mr. Singh represents the constituency of Mehrauli of South Delhi as a property dealer. His offices and homes were raided in the month of July and the income tax officials found documents related to proxy owned properties with the help of his associates. Kartar was unable to explain the amount paid for his farmhouse in South Delhi, which covers 2.6 acres of land.After the raids, the leaders of his party started professing that, Mr. Kartar was framed by the agencies of investigation who were acting on behalf of the central government.

    Michael Phelps 20th gold medal: Rio Olympics

      Phelps has won 200metres butterfly individual swimming event and it was his 20th individual gold medal. Michael Phelps, 31, is the oldest in terms of competitive swimming. By securing second gold medal, Phelps continued his outstanding form in the Rio Olympics 2016. He also won the 4*100m relay event. After some tough competition between Michael Phelps and Masato Sakai from Japan to touch the wall in 1min 53.36 seconds, Phelps secured the 200m butterfly swimming event. Tamas Kenderesi from Hungary has won the bronze in the same event.

    5 crore in cash was robbed from Chennai train

    A person size hole was discovered on the roof of one of the coaches of Salem-Chennai express, when the train pulled into Chennai early in the morning on Tuesday. Nearly 200 boxes of used currency notes, which are to be deposited with the Reserve Bank of India, were in the coach and Rs 5 crore in cash was found missing from the express that started its journey from Salem, western Tamil Nadu. As per the media reports, it is not clear that the robbers were stationed on the express and then used the hole to exit with the cash or they entered the train with the help of the hole on the roof.
