It is well known that the AP High Court has ordered a CBI probe against Chandrababu Naidu assets basing on the petition filed by YS Vijayalakshmi, the widow of the late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. While Chandrababu Naidu chose not to move the supreme court against the high court order, four business houses from AP have asked the supreme court to stop the investigation.

The four business houses accused of colluding with Naidu are Ushodaya Enterprises controlled by media baron Ramoji Rao, Lok Sabha member Nama Nageswar Rao's Madhucon group, CM Ramesh of the Ritwik group, who is also from the TDP, and film actor Murali Mohan's Jayabheri group. All of them deny the allegations and say they are asking for a stay on the investigation because their views were not sought when the high court allowed the probe. Vijayamma's petition also claimed that Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries and Dr Reddy's Laboratories received favours from the Naidu government in quid pro quo deals, but these companies were not named as respondents.

It is to be recalled that the high court had earlier passed similar orders against Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, though it did not seek views of the companies involved in Jagan's case.
