Before leaving for Tirupathi, the newly elected Speaker of AP Assembly Mr. Nadendla Manohar spell out his working plan to the media. He told that he would continue to discharge his duties in a non-partisan way by upholding the sanctity of his office. He said the question-hour session would be given priority and first-time members would be encouraged to take active role in assembly debates.

Mr. Manohar said a meeting of the floor leaders would be convened soon to seek suggestions on improving the functioning of the assembly. Regarding examination of disqualification petitions against those violating party whip in the assembly, the Speaker said a decision would be taken only after both parties were given an opportunity to clarify. "There will not be any hasty decisions," he asserted. He said efforts were underway to make the state legislature paperless by the year-end. "We are trying to ensure that members have access to every bit of relevant information on the programmes being implemented in all constituencies. Even the legislature website will be more user-friendly. All communication from the Speaker's office is already being sent through email, thereby minimizing paper correspondence," he said.

However, replying to a question about the no-confidence motion notice against Kiran Kumar Reddy government served by the Telugu Desam Party, the Speaker said he was in the dark about the details of the no confidence petition served by the TDP. "I am not aware of the form and contents of the petition. The file is yet to reach me. I will offer my comments only after going through it," he said.
