UP Election 2012 Results: Samajwadi Party Strong in UP

UP Elections Results: The biggest gainer is the Samajwadi Party as it is steadily emerging as the single largest party. The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party is a distant second while the Congress and the BJP are engaged in a neck-to-neck race for the third spot, as per the latest trends.

The ruling BSP, which was doing very poorly intially, has improved its position and is now second after the SP. But the Congress continues to be at the fourth position.

According to the trends available for 366 seats, SP is leading in 147, BSP in 92, BJP in 67, Congress in 42. Counting for all 403 seats has started at 8 am and will continue till all results are announced amidst tight security arrangements.
