Is Kapu community drifting towards TDP

The Congress high command’s firmness on dividing the state leaves many of its Seemandhra leaders disgruntled. Especially, the strong Kapu community leaders, who have been ignored by the party all these years, believe that if they stick to Congress party any further, they are also going sink along with it in the forthcoming elections.

East, West Godavari, North Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema are the strong holds of the Kapu community. The leaders from these regions are now ready to leave the party as they feel humiliated by the Congress high command. Many of them are quite unhappy for not taking them into consideration while deciding on bifurcation.

Congress MP Bandaru Satyanand, who was elected as MLA for thrice from Kottapeta in EG District, is quite disappointed for not getting minister post. He is likely to join TDP. Chiranjeevi’s one time close aide and Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao is also planning to return to TDP fold. Kimidi Venkat Rao, who joins PRP has returned to TDP few months ago.

Congress MLA Eeli Nani’s parents E.Veeranjaneyulu and Eeli Vara Lakshi are with TDP. Now, Nani also plans to join TDP. Several powerful and senior leaders like Kottu Satyanarayana, Thota Trimurthulu, Narasapuram MLA Kottapalli Subbarayudu and some others are keen to join TDP as they believe that they could easily accustom to it. Vanga Geeta, who begins her political career in TDP, but later has shifted to PRP and then becomes Congress member is also planning to return to party fold.

Since, the high command is firm on its decision and keen to join hands with YSRCP, many of Seemandhra Congress leaders strongly believing that these two factors(bifurcation and alliance with YSRCP) are going to wipe-off the Congress party from the region. Hence, the other community leaders are also likely to detach themselves from Congress party soon. Hence, a major migration from Congress party may start soon, probably soon after the T-Note returns from Assembly.
