TDP to Approach SC Seeking Probe Into Sonia & Vadra Assets

According to reliable sources, the Telugu Desam Party has decided to hit back at Congress Party for the CBI probe against its party chief Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. It is planning to file a petition in the Supreeme Court seeking a detailed probe into Congress president and UPA chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi's assets and the various trusts run under her name as well as her son-in-law Robert Vadra. The TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who is now in New Delhi, is busy discussing his strategy with political allies as to how to coordinate the campaign. "Very soon, the TDP will move the apex court seeking an inquiry into the assets of Sonia and Robert Vadra and the donations received by different trusts managed by various Congress leaders including Motilal Vora and Ahmed Patel," top sources in the party told. As per the sources, the TDP is now in the process finalizing the names of the leaders who will file the petition in the apex court. The names of TDP Parliamentary party leader Nama Nageswara Rao, former leader K Yerrannaidu and former state assembly speaker Yanamala Ramakrsihnudu are under consideration of the party. The sources claimed that the TDP has already collected enough evidence on the trusts being run by the Sonia family and that in the petition, the party would seek a probe into the donations that the trusts received from corporate houses and individuals for the last 20 years. The TDP is also said to be in touch with Janata Party leader Subramanya Swamy who reportedly collected vital information on the companies in which Robert Vadra has some stake. Swamy, according to the TDP sources, has collected sufficient information to prove that Robert Vadra was involved in the 2G scam and that some of his companies benefited with the allocation of the 2G spectrum.

land rates around hyderabad

Land Rates Around Hyderabad Fall Drastically

Recession and Political uncertainities have hit hard the real estate business in and around Hyderabad for the past two years. The once sought-after plots are now available at unbelievably cheaper rates. Land owners in areas like Moinabad, Maheshwaram and Chevella, who sold their plots for not less than a few crores of rupees per acre during the real estate boom have now slashed the rates by over 70% to attract buyers. The lands around Hyderabad, particularly in Maheshwaram and Chevella tract that had soared beyond Rs 1.70 crore per acre in 2007-08, has now dropped to a meager Rs 50 lakh (approximate) per acre, say sources in the real estate sector. A little bargain and the owners are even ready to drop the rates to Rs 35-40 lakh, they add. In fact, some market experts peg the value of properties in this belt at nothing more than Rs 20-25 lakh. The border areas of the city, they say, have failed to see the industrial and commercial development that was expected to take place over the last few years. Maheshwaram, for instance, was likely to become home to a new Hardware Park while Chevella was being touted as the next big IT/ITes destination.  "The situation today is very different. The over two-year-long slowdown in the real estate sector has not only dented the demand for land among builders but also weeded out investors from the market who ruled the outskirts and were responsible for this artificial rise in rates," said a senior builder.

Chandrababu Naidu in Delhi: Meets Sharad Yadav, AB Bardhan

Telugu Desam supremo Chandrababu Naidu, who just concluded his 'Rythu Porubata' (Padayatra) in state, has gone to Delhi reportedly to discuss with like minded Opposition leaders the plight of farmers of the state. Naidu will also brief the opposition leaders about the CBI probe against him based on the petition filed by YSR Congress MLA YS Vijayalakshmi. Though TD leaders had earlier said that he will file an appeal before the apex court on Monday, Mr Naidu who reached New Delhi on Sunday had, according to reliable sources, consulted some legal experts who advised him not to file an appeal before the Supreme Court at this stage, and that it would be better for him to face the CBI investigation. Later, Mr Naidu told reporters that he will face the CBI investigation and will not go appeal against the HC order. He said in the past, courts had dismissed 23 cases filed by his political opponents regarding various alleged irregularities which were also found in Vijayakshmi’s petition. But still he said he is not interested in going for an appeal to the Supreme Court. Mr Naidu said the CBI was nothing but the Congress Bureau of Investigation and that the Congress leadership had been misusing the organisation to get even with their political rivals. Apart from legal consultations, Naidu also met the CPI leader Mr A.B. Bardhan and JD (U) leader, Mr Sharad Yadav in the evening, and discussed farmers issues including raising the issue in the Parliament session. He is also learnt to have handed over a note prepared by the party on the details of the petition filed by Vijaylakshmi and earlier judgements passed by courts on similar charges. After meeting Mr Naidu, both Mr Bardhan and Mr Sharad Yadav have reportedly consoled him saying "It is nothing new. Those in power misuse the CBI for hounding their political opponents," said the sources.

Jagan Camp MLAs on Way Out One by One

With expectations of mid-term poll fading out and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy facing CBI charges of amassing illegal wealth, one by one Jagan camp MLAs are coming back to Congress. The rebel Congress MLAs have realised that there are no chances of midterm elections in the near future as they had expected before tendering resignations. They have also realised that their chances of winning elections in future will become tough since no public work could be done due to noncooperation from the Kiran government. Bhadrachalam MLA Kunja Satyavathi met deputy speaker M Bhatti Vikramarka at Madhira in Khammam district for half an hour on Sunday evening and explained the reasons for her decision to resign and expressed her willingness to work for the ruling party. Speaking to mediapersons later, Satyavathi, however, denied that she was moving away from Jagan's camp. She made it clear that her meeting with the deputy speaker was meant to invite him to her daughter's marriage. She further said that she would attend a meeting of pro-Jagan MLAs in Hyderabad on November 24. "I will abide by whatever decision Jagan Mohan Reddy will take,'' she declared. Another Jagan loyalist, Anaparthi MLA N Sesha Reddy, said in Rajahmundry that he would take a decision on withdrawing his resignation only after holding discussions with his followers. "I will take a decision in another two days. I will act as per my followers' wish", he said in a clear indication of his change of heart. Recently, Jagan's staunch loyalist and MLA C Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu) asserted that he would not support the no-trust motion against the government. Other Jagan-supporting MLAs G Babu Rao, Jayasudha, T Balraju, K Ravi, K Srinivasulu and D Krishna Das also expressed similar feelings.

telugu desam party no confidence motion

Is TDP Trying to Topple or Stabilize Kiran Government?

According to Telugu Desam Party politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, his party would move a no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government on the first day of the winter session of the state assembly slated to begin in the first week of December. "The TDP will move the no-trust motion on the first day of the session by giving notice one hour before its commencement. We hope that the TRS, YSR Congress and ruling party legislators owing allegiance to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will support the motion and help us topple the Kiran regime," Yanamala Ramakrishnudu told. However, there is no threat to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government say the political analysts. The current strength of the 294-member assembly is 291 due to the death of one legislator and resignations of two others. The Congress strength after the merger of Prajarajyam party has shot up to 174 while that of the TDP has been reduced to 85 due to the resignations of N Prasanna Kumar Reddy and Nagam Janardhan Reddy and defection Pocharam Srinivas Reddy to TRS. Srinivas Reddy subsequently contested successfully from Banswada bypoll. For the TDP to get the noconfidence motion passed and bring down the Kiran regime, it would need half toe votes of those present and voting in the assembly. Assuming all the members take part in the voting, the number required would be 146. Even if the 24 Congress MLAs who had submitted their resignations in protest against the inclusion of YS Rajasekhara Reddy's name in the FIR registered by the CBI in the Jagan assets case decide to support the motion, the TDP will still fall short. The 7 MIM MLAs are allies of the Congress and some from TRS also may not vote in favour the motion, given the raising animosity between the two parties. The lone MLA from YSR Congress, Vijayamma too may not be favouring no-trust motion moved by Naidu. Even if the two BJP members, four CPI and one each of CPM and Loksatta support the motion, the TDP will still fall short by at least 20 to 30 votes. It is crystal clear that TDP can not topple the Kiran government at this juncture. Moreover, it may help indirectly Kiran Kumar to rule peacefully for next six months, as once the notrust motion fails, no such motion can be moved for another six months.
