Rly.Min.Bansal caught in Rs.2Cr.bribe charges

Even before, Law Minister Ashwini Kumar’s CBI report tampering issue settles down, Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal’s name surfaced in Rs.2 crore bribe case today. A recently inducted member of Railway Board Mahesh Kumar, who wants a transfer into Railway Board (Electrical) from his present post has approached Bansal’s nephew Vijay Kumar Singla, who handles all the affairs of Rly.Minister at his home town Chandigarh. Mahesh Mumar has agreed to pay Rs.2crores for getting transferred into his choice of position. As a part of their deal, when Singla was taking part of the bribe Rs.90 lakhs from Manjunath a conduit of Mahesh Kumar  at his Chandigarh office, CBI officials caught him red hand and taken them both into their custody.   Railway Minister Bansal has immediately distanced himself from his nephew's bribe charges and said he is not aware of his activities. Bansal reported the matter to Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh.   Obviously, it rocks the parliament. Opposition parties are demanding for Railway minister Bansal’s resignation. As usually Congress core committee is going to meet today evening to discuss the issue. Congress party feel quite embarrassed with the sudden development that pops up exactly one day before polling in Karnataka state. Although, campaigning in the state has come to an to end on yesterday itself, still it sees a threat from the media reports, which may adversely impact its winning chances.

Why did Kiran develops aggressive attitude?

When Kiran Kumar Reddy has occupied the CM chair, many of his own party leaders have joined opposition leaders to sing chorus with them, who humiliate him calling as Sealed Cover CM. Perhaps, this is what makes develop stubborn attitude in Kiran towards his own ministers to overcome his inferiority complex.   The non-cooperation from his own MLAs and ministers due to Telangana and many other reasons further toughened his attitude. Obviously, it widen the gap between him and his ministers, MLAs in the government. There was a time, when people got doubt whether he was isolated by his party leaders or is he keeping away his own party leaders.   Although, Kiran is aware of this unpleasant situation in the party and government, he has never tried for a patch-up with his own men, fearing it will provide them to gain upper hand over him. Hence, he spearheads with his own programs leaving party behind him.   Would he attained his present position with hard efforts like late YSR did in the past, definitely he would not have faced this kind of resistance from his own people. But, his direct appointment as CM of the state makes him inferior to his party leaders, which he wants to overcome now by adopting aggressive attitude. To certain extent, he even succeeded in his efforts, but the pace with which he is moving now further creates distance between him and his men.   When, he turned around and sees who is following him, there is no one behind him, instead find some of his men sending reports against him to party high command. It is time for Kiran Kumar Reddy to asses his own situation in the party and to know whether he wants to travel alone or want to be accompanied by his party men to the elections.

Did Dadi made a grave mistake?

Dadi Veerabadra rao, who quits TDP and gearing-up join YSR Congress party has faced an unexpected resistance from his followers and from YSRCP cadres in Anakapalli town. His followers have isolated him condemning his decision of leaving the party and to join YSRCP, which he earlier described as robbers’ party. His followers have made protests in front of his house at Anakapalli yesterday. They told the media that, they don’t want to follow him as they want to remain forever in TDP only. They sharply criticized him for keeping them in dark till he quits the party. They said he has betrayed TDP, which gave him name and fame.   The situation is no different for him on the other side also. YSRCP cadres have protested Dadi’s arrival into party. They said it is unfair to welcome such a person, who abused the party and troubled its leaders in the city. Konathala Ramakrishna, senior leader of the YSRCP and his brother Lakshmi Narayana are also not happy with his arrival, as they personally and politically have faced several problems with him, while he was in TDP. They both plainly told their party high command that they are not happy with his arrival.   However, Dadi Veerabadra rao has said, today he will meet Jagan Mohan Reddy and discuss with him about his joining into his party. If, he is satisfied with his terms and conditions will join the party otherwise quit politics. He is neither wanted in TDP nor in YSRCP now. Unfortunately, his 3decades of political experience couldn’t stop him from taking a grave mistake like this, with which he not only puts his political life at stake but also his son Ratnakar’s life.   The only relief he had now is a welcome message from Congress Minister Ganta Srinivasa rao. He said, if Dadi wants to join Congress party, he would like to welcome him into party. However, Dadi may face the same situation in Congress also, as there also Congress cadres are opposing his entry into party.

CM Kiran boldly takes upon T-leaders

CM Kiran Kumar Reddy has gradually transformed into powerful political leader by shrugging off his soft-approach attitude towards his rivals and issues. When, he takes charge as CM of the state, there was a general belief in the party as well as in the people that he was installed in the chair as a temporary adjustment until the party founds a suitable person. However, in no time he glued to his seat firmly by handling the issues in his own style. He has gone through very odd situation created by Jagan’s hyper activities in the state politics and Telangana agitations, but survived. But, then he didn’t reveal his actual himself instead maintained his usual calm. But, soon after he successfully broke the month long strike by Telangana employees, he picks-up courage and start revealing himself.   His attacks on TRS MLAs in Assembly and fitting reply on introducing bill on Telangana has left the TRS MLAs feel short to him. TRS MLAs were dismayed and shocked, when he harshly told them that he will not sanction a single NP to Telangana, during Assembly proceedings few months ago. His attitude just reminds late YSR’s style, who used to dare TRS leaders like anything, opine his colleagues in the party. Kiran Kumar Reddy has been maintaining the same pace and spirits in handling TRS and opposition parties in electrical tariff hike and Bayyaram mines issues etc.   While, his ministers were seen hesitating to respond to TRS and opposition attacks on Bayyaram mines issue, Kiran Kumar Reddy took the lead and attacks them thus encouraging his ministers to follow his path. Kiran Kumar Reddy has not only reiterated his stand on Bayyaram mines but also challenged TRS and the others to stop if they can. While, accepting their challenge to face the earth quakes that they plans to create on Bayyaram mines, he also tried to project them as mischievous team which wants to throw spanner in development activities in the Telangana region.   Kiran Kumar Reddy in his recent meeting at Sanga Reddy has asked whether TRS leaders actually do not want a Steel factory and Purification plant to come at Bayyaram, which offers employment to thousands in the region. Kiran Kumar Reddy has wisely selected Telangana region for launching of his several welfare schemes, with which he plans to win the hearts of the Telangana people.   While, launching the schemes, he utilized the occasion to reveal that KCR and his family members are doing business in the name of Telangana agitations. This is indeed a very wise move to convince the people that he is savior and KCR and his family members are cheating them in the name of Telangana agitations.

Court reserves judgment on Vijayasai bail

CBI’s petition for canceling bail to Vijayasai Reddy has ends-up with Supreme Court keeping its decision in reserve after hearing heated arguments between both parties on Thursday. The court has asked CBI to submit the progress report of its investigation in a sealed cover so as it could take appropriate decision over his bail.   CBI argued that he is the one who played key role in Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case. It handed over a lengthy list showing his involvement in each and every deal made on behalf of Jagan Mohan Reddy owned companies. CBI has accused him of threatening and influencing the several businessmen to invest in Jagan Mohan Reddy companies. He behaves more like a Jagan agent than a respected charted accountant in brining investments to Jagan’s companies argued CBI. CBI told the court that he is threatening the witnesses not to co-operate with CBI in Jagan’s case otherwise to face dire consequences.   At a point CBI has compared Vijayasai Reddy with terrorist Afjal Guru, who was hanged for conspiring attacks on Parliament. CBI appeals the court to cancel his bail immediately to ensure proper investigation into Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case.   Vijayasai Reddy’s council Ramacharan has objected CBI comparing his client with terrorist Afjal Guru. In his counter to CBI arguments, he asked how could CBI is able to gather so many evidences against his client, while it is accusing him of blocking its investigation? He asked whether CBI is accusing him for even procuring the evidences against Jagan Mohan Reddy cases? He reminds the apex court that the lower court has granted bail to his client only after thoroughly examining all the aspects involved in this case. He asked the court not to consider CBI’s plea for canceling his client’s bail. Supreme Court kept its decision in reserve.

Did CM Kiran has no confidence on his own cabinet?

Is Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy become lonely in his own government and party? Does he not believe his own cabinet ministers or the cabinet has lost confidence in him? Is he launching the welfare schemes for his own propaganda keeping in view of forth coming elections? These questions pop-up soon after he launched his ‘Bangaru Talli’ scheme three days back without consulting or leaving a hint to his cabinet ministers. To begin with PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana has admitted that he is unaware of the scheme details and would like to talk about it only after he go through it. He also admits that he was not consulted by CM or anyone before launching this scheme.   Minister DL Ravindra Reddy is the first to react sharply on this new scheme. He described it just another idea for CM’s propaganda. He also warned that he will ask the people to chase the Congress leaders if any of these schemes are found fake ones.   Minister K. Jana Reddy spits fire on CM Kiran Kumar Reddy for not discussing the matter in the cabinet meeting. “He takes us for granted. He is announcing new schemes on every other day on his own as if wants to elevate his image in the eyes of public. Despite being suggested to discuss and get the cabinet approval he ignores us. He must take the cabinet into consideration while making important decisions like this. He has not consulted the cabinet on issues like approving power tariff hike, Bayyaram mines allotment to Visakha Steel plant etc which ultimately puts the government in troubles and tarnish the party image just ahead of the general elections. He should refrain from making provocative speeches against Telangana issue.”   Probably, many more members like C.Rama chandrayya, Chiranjeevi, T-Congress MPs may join this decedents band wagon in the next few days.

DL pinches Kiran over his daily new schemes

Even while CM Kiran Kumar Reddy strongly believes that his ‘a-scheme-a-day’ will keep the opposition parties away from power’ in the next general elections, his cabinet ministers thinks it otherwise.   The decedent branded minister Dr.DL Ravindra Reddy speaking to media has said “CM has never had the habit of consulting his cabinet ministers in any of the decisions taken by him until now. He adopts the same policy and declares ‘Bangaru Talli’ scheme, which involves hundreds of crores money a year. He neither discussed the matter within cabinet to assess the feasibility of funds nor let the ministers know about his schemes and his plans.   He said "While, he is ignoring several other schemes launched by him in the past, what is the use of coming-up with a new scheme on every other day? Instead, he would have concentrated on his previous schemes and ensured an effective implementation of them which would give an impression that he is really honest with his schemes. He should also understood that whatever schemes that he is announcing these days shouldn’t be intended to improve his ratings and for his propaganda but should serve its purpose. If, the schemes fail to serve its purpose, I will ask the people to chase the Congress leaders from their streets for bluffing them with false promises and schemes.”   Nevertheless, his statement has nothing to conceal about his personal views on Kiran Kumar Reddy’s propaganda in the name of welfare schemes.

Solicitor General Harin Raval resigns

Additional solicitor general Harin Raval has resigns today succumbing to pressures generated out of the coal-gate scam report. Earlier, he has lied to the Supreme Court over sharing CBI report with political executives. He asserted that CBI report (on irregularities in allotment of coal blocks) has not been shared with any political executive. But, CBI Director Ranjit Sinha, in his latest affidavit submitted to the court has confessed that the CBI report has been shared with law minister Ashwini Kumar and two other executives of PMO and ministry of Coal.   CBI, which until now is boasting itself as an independent probing agency has dismayed the court with its director Ranjit Singh’s statement, who confessed that CBI is also part and parcel of the government like any other departments and it has certain obligations that force it to share its report with the political executives before it was submitted to Supreme Court. However, he told the court that he will submit an explanation about under which sections he has shared the CBI reports with outsiders.   While, the parliament is rocking with his statement, Harin Raval has fueled it further blaming attorney general GE Vahanavati of influencing the CBI probe into the coal blocks allotments. He even blamed Vahanavati for throwing his weight on several other scam related investigations being conducted by CBI. As the government cornered with his statements, allegations and Ranjit Singh’s confessions to court, Harin has stepped down today.
