KTR’s meets Venkaiah Naidu!

  Telangana Pancyatiraj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao meeting with Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu at New Delhi today naturally becomes very curious, in wake of prevailing high tense situation between the AP and Telangana governments.   Later, speaking to media he said that he came to invite the Union Minister to attend the ‘international convention on the smart cities’ to be held at Hyderabad in August. He said that he sought the minister to extend support to the housing scheme launched by the state government for the poor. Responding to a media question, he said “We will not interfere in the vote-for-note case. Law will its takes its own course in this case.”

EC permits ACB investigate the vote-for-note case?

  These days, no one knows what is genuine news and what is rumor as both state governments are playing mind games to strike the other psychologically. The latest news that surfaced on Wednesday is that EC wrote a letter to the Telangana ACB asking it to investigate the vote-for-note case and submit a detailed report so as it also can take appropriate action against the guilty. It was also reported that ACB has informed the EC prior to TDP MLA Revanth Reddy’s arrest, which means EC also has idea about sting operation plans of the ACB. However, EC has not responded on these media reports until now. If, the EC acknowledges the media reports, then more troubles are awaiting TDP or else someone may be intentionally spreading this kind of rumors as a part of mind games to weaken the TDP.

ACB serves notices to Vem Narendar Reddy

  The Telangana ACB officials have served notice to TDP MLC candidate Vem Narendar Reddy at his residence on Tuesday night. They asked him to come along with them to attend interrogation by the ACB in connection with vote-for-note case. However, they returned after he assured them that he will come to ACB office tomorrow morning.

Rajnath Singh refuses to respond on vote-for-note case!

  Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has refused to make any comment or to respond on the vote-for-note case that leads to a serious clash between the AP and the Telangana governments. He said the home secretary will resolve the disputes between two states and also the issues related to Section: 8. He is sending a team of officials from Home Ministry lead by joint secretary Alok Kumar to Hyderabad tomorrow to address the complaints made by both governments.

War-like situation prevails in Hyderabad

  A war like-situation is prevailing in the common capital Hyderabad, as both state governments have deployed their police forces to handle any untoward incidents, in case if the Telangana ACB serves notices to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu anytime. TDP cadres in large numbers have rushed to their party head office-NTR Trust Bhavan, after knowing about ACB plans to arrest their party president Chandrababu Naidu. Nara Lokesh, who also arrived there, told them that they need not to worry because Telangana government can’t do anything against Chandrababu Naidu.   Ministers Prattipati Pulla Rao and Achchem Naidu have justified deploying AP police around CM Chandrababu Naidu’s residence as Governor fails to ensure his safety and security. Achchem Naidu said that AP government will not hesitate to open police stations in Hyderabad if necessary. He said their equal right on Hyderabad can’t be ruled out by the Telangana government or it’s CM KCR. He warned the Telangana government that AP government will make two moves if it makes one move. He strongly criticized Telangana CM KCR for disrupting the peace in the common capital by taking law and order control into hands, whereas it should be in Governor’s hands. He asked CM KCR when all other sections of the AP Reorganization Bill are acceptable, then why Section: 8 of it is not acceptable to his government. Both ministers claim that they have strong evidences of phone tapping by the Telangana government and will produce them in an appropriate time.   The ACB officials, who tried but couldn’t serve notice to TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veraiah on Tuesday, may serve notices to many others tomorrow. Hence, the situation may turn very serious when they come to serve notices to others tomorrow.   As if this is not enough, Telangana employees of Telangana Genco have not allowed 1100 employees of Andhra origin to enter into their offices today when they came to attend their duties. Four days back, the Telangana government has issued a GO relieving them all from their duties and surrendering to the AP government. But, they returned to duties when the High Court stayed the GO. However, Telangana employees have not allowed them into offices. Hence, there was a war like situation developed as both groups have clashed. However, police disperse them.

ACB serves notice to TTDP MLA

  Telangana ACB officials went to MLA quarters in Hyderguda to serve notice to Sattupalli TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veraiah today, but returned as they found his quarter No:208 was locked. They went to serve notice to him asking to appear before ACB investigation officer for questioning in vote-for-note case. Sandra Veeraiah said that he has not received any notice from ACB and if receives, will give response with in prescribed period.

T-ACB may serve notices to Chandrababu today?

  Media is abuzz with the reports about Telangana ACB prepared to serve notice to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister anytime today asking him to attend voice matching test at Forensic Science Labs (FSL) at Hyderabad. The huge deployment of police in vital and sensitive points in the Hyderabad and near FSL is indicating the same.   If so, Andhra Pradesh ACB also may serve notices to the Telangana Chief Minister KCR for questioning him in alleged phone tapping issue. Simultaneously, AP CID also may serve notices to several ministers of Telangana state and the ACB officials based on the complaint lodged by J Mattaiah and many others in several police stations in the AP State.   But, they may need Governor Narasimhan’s permission for it. If, they could show him any basic evidence that proves CM KCR's involvement, then Governor may allow them to proceed ahead. But, this ugly fight between the two state governments may cost the people very dearly.

KCR and CBN gearing for big fight?

  Subsequent to Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s meeting with Governor Narasimhan held yesterday, DGP and the ACB DGP meeting with KCR today is clearly hinting that Governor gives them a nod to go ahead to serve notices to the AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and whoever allegedly involved in the vote-for-note case. Hence, their meeting is very significant and some serious actions may be witnessed within next 24 hours like serving notices to CM Chandrababu Naidu.   If so, it is to be assumed that the Modi government doesn’t want to interfere in this case and gives the Governor a free hand to deal with it. If so, Telangana government may make swift moves so as to seize all options to the Andhra Pradesh government and its Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in this case.   Simultaneously, CM Chandrababu Naidu also has summoned an urgent meeting of his ministers today, which can be seen as a sign of critical situation. The AP government has decided to constitute a ‘special investigating team’ (SIT) to probe the alleged phone tapping by the Telangana government and handover the complaints lodged by many people in several police stations in the state against Telangana government and its Chief Minister for conspiring against the AP government.   Simultaneously, the complaint lodged against Telangana ACB officials at Satyanarayanapuram police station in Vijayawada by Jerusalem Mattaiah, the 4th accused in this case was handed over to the CID. He complained that Telangana ACB officials have pressurized him to tell Chandrababu Naidu is involved in this case. He said that he flees away from Hyderabad fearing life threat from the Telangana ACB and Police.Hence, the AP government has transferred his complaint to CID today.   Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers have discussed about measures to be taken in case if the Telangana ACB serves notices to him. Huge police deployment was seen around Forensic Science Labs which is indicating that ACB is going to serve notices to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu anytime today to attend the voice matching test at the Labs.

Governor should ensure CBN’s safety also

  Former DGP of the undivided Andhra Pradesh state has come to media after a very long time to react on the phone tapping allegations made by the Andhra Pradesh government and its argument of implementing Section: 8 of the AP Reorganization Act that entrusts full powers to Governor in the common capital Hyderabad city.   He said, “It is true that ACB or Police officials shouldn’t tap the phones of Chief Minister and Ministers of neighboring state. But, they can tap the phones of individuals like Elvis Stephenson with the permission of Home Ministry. If, the AP government believes that its ministers’ phones were tapped, then the Chief Minister can complain to the Governor about the same and insist him to take appropriate action against the police commissioners for it. But, he has to provide strong evidences for his allegations.”   “The AP Police and ACB are allowed to run their forces from their head offices in the Hyderabad. But, they are not allowed to take any action against anyone in the common capital, because their jurisdiction permits them to deal with the problems related to the AP state and within the state limits but not in the common capital Hyderabad. So, if anyone including the AP Chief Minister feel any threat or insecurity, then it is Governor’s responsibility to ensure their safety and security,” said Dinesh Reddy.

CM KCR, Narasimhan’s significant meeting today

  Telangana Chief Minister KCR is going to meet Governor Narasimhan today around 3 pm. Their meeting is considered to be very significant in wake of the ACB is preparing for a final showdown in the vote-for-note case in a day or two after recording the statement of nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson today.   The ACB needs Governor’s permission to add Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and others names whom the Telangana government is accusing in this case. Unless, he gives permission to ACB, it can’t proceed ahead and serve notices to Chandrababu Naidu and others. Hence, Telangana CM KCR’s meeting with the Governor is considered to be very crucial.   Although, the Centre has reportedly orders an investigation into the alleged phone tapping of Chandrababu Naidu and other ministers by the Telangana government, so far it has not revealed its stand in this specific case. So, it’s silence may be considered as giving green signal to the Governor Narasimhan to allow the ACB to prosecute the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and all others in this case. Or else, the Governor may be directed to ask the Telangana Chief Minister to shelve this case immediately. Anyway, the outcome of their meeting will reflects the Centre’s stand on this issue and also through the consequent developments in this case.

Revanth’s judicial remand extended for 15 days

  TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was presented in the ACB court as his judicial remand period ends today. The public prosecutor, who represents the ACB argued that the ACB has not received the forensic reports related to this case and so the investigation is also not completed. Hence, he appealed the court to extend judicial remand of Revanth Reddy. The court agrees with his argument and extended his and two other accused remand till June 29th.   Hence, Revanth Reddy and other two accused have filed bail petitions in the High Court immediately. Revanth Reddy lawyers argue that their client was a victim of political conspiracy. However, the ACB officials have interrogated him and other accused in this case for four days continuously. So, there is nothing left to investigate in this case from his end. So, he should be granted bail. If he is granted bail, he will not meet or influence the witnesses in this case. He will abide by the bail conditions, his lawyers assures the High Court. High Court may announce its decision after lunch break.

Congress afraid to face TRS in Warangal bye-elections?

  Though, it is too early to think about finalizing the party candidate for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat vacated by Kadiyam Srihari, Congress party hits the news headlines with a negative report about its inability to find candidate for the same.   It was reported that former MP Vivek, who was offered ticket to contest from Warangal to Lok Sabha has refused, but stated that he will continue in the Congress party only. He may have his own reasons for refusing the party offer, but his statement about continuing in the Congress party is hinting that he has plans to take plunge into the TRS party. Hence, he may be offered ticket as a bait to keep him glued to the Congress party.   It was also reported that Congress party has approached former MP Rajaiah after Vivek rejected the party offer. If so, it would be a great opportunity for Rajaiah, who was defeated in the last elections. But, what if the TRS offers the same seat to Vivek? If, he contests on the TRS ticket, then Rajaiah or whoever may be Congress candidate, his/her electoral chances will become blink.   But, if Rajaiah also refuses then it would be indicating the miserable situation of the Congress party and its inability to face the ruling TRS party in the bye-election. But, it has to field a candidate otherwise it would strengthen this argument.

AP Government to form SIT on phone tapping

  Andhra Pradesh state government is likely to constitute a Special Investigating Team (SIT) comprising a senior police and IAS officer to investigate alleged phone tapping of CM Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers by the Telangana government. The SIT will take a final decision after collecting the information from complaints lodged in several police stations across the AP state against the Telangana CM KCR and his government. CM Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with state DGP Ramudu, ACB Chief Malakondaiah and Intelligence Chief Anuradha yesterday at his office in Hyderabad. They have discussed in detail about Revanth Reddy’s case and about the Telangana government’s role behind it. They have also discussed the technicalities of this case. If the SIT could gather evidences in the phone tapping issue, it is not only helpful to the state government for filing a case against the Telangana government in the courts, but also helpful to the investigating agencies to be sent by the Centre very soon.

TDP finalizes MVVS Murthy for 2nd MLC seat

  TDP that already finalized Pappala Chalapathi Rao for the first MLC seat in Visakhapatnam district has finalized the name of its senior leader MVVS Murthy for the second seat. Although, there was no second opinions on the first candidate, stalemate continued till Sunday as its two ministers Ayyannapatrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao of the district differs on the second candidate. Finally, they both agree for MVVS Murthy candidature for the second seat. So, they both may file their nominations tomorrow.   TDP not yet finalized its candidates’ names for Guntur and Vizianagaram districts. The last date for filing nominations is June 16th. So, it may announce the names for these two districts tomorrow. Former TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav has filed his nominations in Collector’s office in Ananthapur on Sunday.

AP is Introducing Streetlight Tax!

  Andhra Pradesh government has found a new idea to tap money from the citizens. It is going to levy streetlight tax on its people from the next month. This fresh tax will be proportionately collected with the property tax. So, those paying huge amount for property tax have to pay more tax and it will be nominal for the lower property tax payers though usage is same for everyone. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly cleared this file recently.   The state government is levying this fresh tax on the people to recover huge losses power utlities have been incurring. During the 2014-15 fiscal year, 313.12 million units were supplied for lighting the streets across the state. This power supply costs Rs.170.81 crores, but Rs.5.46 crores recovered only from the Municipal corporations. Actually, state government is recovering these amounts from the funds granted by the Central government to the local bodies as a part of devolution of funds.   Everything goes fine as long as the Centre is releasing funds to local bodies, but problem starts when the flow of funds stops. Centre will stop releasing of funds, if elections for the local bodies are not conducted in time. The Centre held Rs. 1174 crores till date and obviosuly it is badly affecting the streetlight services. Hence, the state government has decided to transfer this additional burden on to the end user the citizen. But, what if when the Centre releases the funds as usually after elections are conducted for local bodies? Will it return the amount to citizens? Never, everyone knows.

Kishan Reddy is averse for alliance with TDP?

  Telangana State BJP President Kishan Reddy has once again hinted that he is averse to have alliance with the TDP. Speaking to media he said that he has sent a report to his party high command about the details of vote-for-note case and is also updating day to day about the consequent developments of it. He said that his party will take a decision on continuing alliance with the TDP after the court pronounces its verdict in this case.   He said ‘Let the court decide who is wrong and who is not in this case.” He reiterates that his party will follow ethics in the politics and so it discourages corrupt practices in the politics. He suggested both Chief Ministers should change their mindsets first and focus their full attention on developing the state instead of quarrelling with each other.   Even he is aware that it is his high command that takes crucial decisions on having alliance with other parties in different states keeping in view of larger interests of the party and certainly not the state unit presidents. Kishan Reddy is aware that his party high command ignoring his objections, has accepted alliance with the TDP in both states and it was proved to be a very wise decision. Would it lend its ears to his suggestions, then BJP would lose the opportunity to share power with the TDP government that gives it edge over the TDP and an opportunity to strengthen itself in the AP state. Hence, Kishan Reddy statement has no significance except revealing his personal opinion on having alliance with the TDP.

Proposals for rail connectivity to Amaravati under consideration

  Andhra Pradesh state government has sent a proposal for laying a railway line between upcoming capital city Amaravati and Mangalagiri Railway Station, so as to provide direct rail connectivity to the capital city with rest of the state and the country. Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu is said to be formally agreed to this proposal. So, Railways’ officials may make a site visit very soon to study the scope for laying railway line. The state government is also made another proposal for running a circular train service between Amaravati, Vijayawada, Guntur and Tenali cities. Actually, the state government has planned to run metro rail services between these stations, but dropped that idea as Metro chief consultant E Sreedharan said that is not a viable. So, the state government proposes to a circular local train between these stations.

Rahul Gandhi got advantage of their fight!

  After very long interval, Rahul Gandhi got some favorable reports in the media for taking part in the dharna conducted by the Delhi Municipal employees demanding for release of their two-months pending salaries. He sat with them on the road outside East Delhi MCD office. Both North and East Delhi Municipal Corporations are unable to pay salaries of many employees as the cash flows have stopped because of the ugly fight taking place between the Centre and Kejriwal government.   But, Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung announced that Rs 493 crore would be released to the civic bodies on yesterday itself to cover the dues of sanitation workers. Obviously, the Congress party remits that credit into Rahul Gandhi’s account. Even the media also describes it as a victory for him over the Modi government. A section of media close to the Congress party has seen this as a sea of change in Rahul Gandhi’s functioning style and attitude as he never used to mind about such road side dharnas during his UPA regime.   Whether the credit goes to him or not, the dharna by the sanitation workers brings out a serious issue to the public notice. The Delhi government lead by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Centre are conflicting on this issue also. The agitating workers told the media that both governments are not taking responsibility of paying their salaries since last two months. Both governments are avoiding paying their salaries for the last two months and blaming each other.   They said that the Delhi government has to pay their salaries in-time as they are serving it only. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced that his government will release pending salaries of sanitation workers, doctors and teachers of two municipal corporations for April and May. But, he fails to fulfill his promise, then only the sanitation workers have took this ultimate decision ten days ago. Obviously, Rahul Gandhi benefitted with the ongoing fight between the Centre and Delhi governments.
