  • India reclaim No.1 Test team ranking from Pak

India have displaced Pakistan as the No. 1-ranked Test team following their 178-run win against New Zealand in the second Test in Kolkata. India had earlier topped the Test rankings when they won a four – match series against West Indies 2-0 but Pakistan’s draw against England in a four-match series was enough for them to overtake India. India took the attack to the opposition on Day 4 to dismiss New Zealand for a total of 197 giving India a win by 178 runs. This was enough for India to overtake arch-rivals Pakistan in the rankings. India should ensure that they win or at least manage a draw in the third and final Test in Indore to hold onto the top spot. India and New Zealand now play their third and final Test in Indore. Following the ODI and T20 series against New Zealand, India resume their Test season when they host England in November. India will hold onto the numero uno spot when the ICC announces its updated ratings, irrespective of how the Indore Test pans out.

Kejriwal to Modi: Prove surgical strike took place

Pakistan has denied that the strikes took place, and accused India of passing off cross-border firing as raids conducted across the de facto border. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday in a video message strongly condemned the “false propaganda” being floated around by Pakistan. The Chief Minister of Delhi, asked the government to release footage of the strikes which were conducted on seven terrorist launch pads or staging areas in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Claiming that foreign media appears to be backing Pakistan's claim, he says, "My blood boils to see such reports"."Two days ago, the United Nations gave a statement that such activity was not seen at the border. Yesterday, CNN was running a report in which a reporter showed that the Pakistani government had taken foreign journalists in a bus to the border. And they (the Pakistani government) were trying to convince the journalists that nothing had taken place at the spot where India claimed surgical strikes had taken place," Kejriwal said.

Nana Patekar's comments come following the ban on Pakistani actors from the industry in the wake of the Uri attack. Patekar also made it clear that the country comes first for him. ” I was in the army and have spent two and half years there. I know who are our biggest heroes. No one can be a bigger hero than our jawans. Our jawans are our real heroes,” said Patekar.  "Bollywood people are trivial, fake people. You know who I'm talking about. Whoever is saying so many things, don't give them too much importance. They don't deserve that much importance." he added.
