  Dealing with Spider Veins     Spider and Vericose veins are the most occuring side effects of sudden weight gain in human bodies. According to United States' Womenshealth.gov website, spider veins affect 50-55 percent of women in USA,  and vericose veins affect half the population of over 50year olds. Managing these pesky veins is tricky because they dont show up on the legs when the body has good rest...they appear soon after one has not had proper rest, or had been standing or walking for longer periods. In the Western socities like the United States where women wear skirts and swim wear, having spider or vericose veins is an uncomfortable situation. They dont allow such dressup styles and one tends to cover the legs to hide these odd veins. They also spring up under the eyes, on hands for some. For few women, these occur as side effects of pregnancy or excessive weight gain, or even constipation due to low-fiber in foods consumed. They can be prevented by following a few simple steps: By controlling body weight. -eating a balanced healthy diet -consuming high-fiber, low-sodium food -exercising regularly to improve blood circulation -wearing sunscreens to protect skin -elevating legs when resting/ sleeping -not crossing the legs when sitting for longer periods of time -avoiding tight clothing around waist or legs. Many Indian women also face these odd veins issues but because of the cultural dress up habits, they dont seem to care much about the skin unexposed. There are people i know who drink more than just a big mug a day....they keep sipping three to four small cups of coffee during their chores, and the family members have concerns about their health...too much caffeine ! There has been a debate about coffee and its limit of consumption per day, some say its good, many say it is bad. A four-year long new study from Harward School of Public Health reports that people who consumed more than one cup of coffee a day were found to have 11 percent lower risk of Type-2 Diabetes. Conversely, people who reduced their daily consumption of coffee by more than a cup had 17 percent more risk of being affected by Type-2 Diabetes. for the healthy lot is a good news and even better news for all the Diabetics who have many dietary restrictions. You get to sip your favorite Java, happily. Many have been under the misconception that Decaffeinated coffee does good, but the study reported that both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee brought in the same benefits. When a study was conducted on animals, the bioactive and phenolic compounds in coffee were shown to improve glucose and metabolism and that might have been the reason for both caffeinated and decaf coffee to yield same benefits. When you have decided to go for walking, you need to have clarity on place and surface you are walking. Is it a track, pavement or hill area which includes slight trekking, depending on this you have to select your shoe. Walking has less impact to your feet than running. As a result, a true walking shoes doesn’t require as much cushioning in the heel as a traditional running shoe provides. Walking shoes often focus on providing cushioning under the ball of the foot. The modern women is putting herself at a risk of a wide range of health problems from obesity to cardiovascular diseases. Don’t worry! There are some easy ways to get out of this problem. Tackle it before it is too late. To start with, walk whenever you can at work. If that is happening, take short breaks and walk around for a couple of minutes. You could also take a walk when you are talking on the phone. This will give you the much needed exercise, for which you have no time at all.     When you are hungry between meals, choose a healthy snack over one that can add to your calories. Find an appropriate time in a day when you can do some simple exercises. You can spare a minimum of 20 minutes per day can’t you? Simply exercising cannot keep a working woman healthy.   Using MultiVitamins Regularly?!  A human body needs vitamins and minerals every day. Women, Men and Children need a daily consumption of the required vitamins and minerals. Many brands of Multivitamins are available over the counter for everyone of us, Pregnant womem, newborns if necessary, nursing mothers and all. Even Couples who are preparing for a child conception are suggested to start taking prenatal multivitamins for a healthy child, and to women also after Child birth for easy recovery and during nursing stages. Some come as capsules, tablets, oral suspension drops for newborns, chewable gummies for young children etc.... Many of us have intolerance to a particular vitamin or mineral, it is important to keep observing our health patterns based on food consumptions and reactions that follow, if any and control the intake of that particular nutrient or avoid it if necessary. Consuming junk food is a culprit when it comes to food reactions, some processing units mix items without intention and it results in food reactions...it is important and recommended to read the nutrition chart and content label on the food pack before even tasting it. Though it is necessary to consume the required amount of these nutrients, overdose is dangerous, it is strictly recommended not to consume even one capsule more than the prescribed amount. Every nutrient comes with side-effects of over consumed and hence, severe caution is advised by the Doctors and also on the conrent table on the vitamin bottles.   No hurry ..no worry My Friend's 6 year old son was talking to me once, on the way their daily routine goes...and suddenly, he asked me, "what happens if there are no wall clocks"? I said, it doesn't matter, because we have so many other ways to check time... For my surprise, his reply was, " you are wrong.... If there are no clocks then mom will be relaxed in the mornings and listens to us and attends our needs in unwind way"... How true? For most of us, our mornings are so very hectic, we tend to be so irritating on petty issues,we do observe fluctuations in blood pressure too.. But check once, if all these are happening just because you are unable to organize things. If cooking, preparing lunch boxes for members in the family is the first challenge you have in the mornings, then try to plan your menu on previous day to re!ease burden on what to make ? Infact, planing for the next day is a good practice for everybody, before even heading to bed. Some people dont find their shoelace, rubber bands, keys, wallets,phonechargers on time, however these are things they need invariably every mornings.... There are hundreds of people out there who search for spectacles, mobiles, note pad and pen every time they have a need for these things... Nevertheless, being organised is the only solution for this problem.. Not you alone, but every one in the house need to inculcate the habit of placing things in particular place meant for them.   Control Diabetes With Capsicum !   There are many ways of managing diabetes. Some people like to go for medical management, others like to go the natural way. There’s a very interesting diet method for those who prefer the later. Simply including capsicum or bell peppers in your diet can help you fight diabetes naturally. Research revealed that capsicum consists of a substance called capsaicin known to reduce the blood sugar levels. This is being said only after observing how people in Jamaica dealt with diabetes traditionally using capsicum in their diet. Taking this as a lead an experiment was conducted on 6 rats with diabetes. It was seen that their blood sugar level came down from 6.40mmol/dL to 4.91mmol/dL after being given capsaicin. Reduction of 23% of blood sugar level is definitely a great improvement in diabetes. Doctors suggest yellow capsicum is a better option in this case when compared to green or red. They are said to slow down the carbohydrate digestion, better than the other two.  It is also observed that raw capsicum does more benefit than the cooked one. Eating a salad will the best thing to do.Let us see the procedure of making the perfect salad with the right amount of capsicum in it. For this you will need, 2 large red capsicums, 2 yellow capsicums, 2 and half tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of vinegar, 1 finely chopped garlic clove, 12 pitted black olives, handful of fresh basil, salt and pepper for taste. Mix these ingredients well and leave it in the oven at 200 degree centigrade for about 30 minutes. Don’t forget to garnish basil before serving. తినండి... నడవండి.. 1) మీకు తెలుసా!  తీసుకునే ఆహారం తగ్గించక పోయినా పర్వాలేదు. రోజు ఓ అరగంట పాటు నడిస్తే చాలు నడుము చుట్టూ పేరుకునే కొవ్వు కరిగించుకోవచ్చుట. నిజం ఎందుకంటే ఇలా రోజూ ఓ అరగంట పాటు నడిస్తే వారానికి సుమారు 15 కి.మీ. వరుకూ నడిచినట్లేనట- కాబట్టి దీనివల్ల రన్నింగ్, జాగింగ్ చేసిన వారితో సమానంగా ప్రయోజనం పొందచ్చు అంటున్నారు డుక్ యూనివర్శిటీ పరిశోధకులు. దీని వల్ల గుండె జబ్బులు, మధుమేహం, స్థూలకాయం వంటి రుగ్మతల్ని చాలా వరుకు అరకట్టవచ్చని కూడా స్పష్టం చేస్తున్నారు. ప్రతిరోజూ పొద్దున్నే లేచి రన్నింగ్,జాగింగ్లు చేయటం కుదరటం లేదని బాధపడక్కర లేదు. రోజు రాత్రి భోజనం తర్వాత అయినా ఇంటి పరిసరాలల్లో ఓ అరగంట పాటు నడిస్తే చాలు అని సూచిస్తున్నారు పరిశోధకులు. సో వీలుచేసుకుని రోజూ ఓ అరగంటపాటు నడవటం మొదలు పెట్టండి. 2) సాధారణంగా బరువు తగ్గాలంటే పూర్తిగా తిండి మానేయాలి అనుకుంటారు చాలామంది. కానీ రోజూ మనం తీసుకునే ఆహారాన్ని ఒక క్రమపద్ధతిలో తీసుకుంటే శరీరంలో నుంచి కొవ్వును తేలికగా కరిగించకోవచ్చట. అంటే రోజుకు మూడుసార్లు తినే ఆహారాన్ని అయిదు భాగాలుగా విడగొట్టి మూడుసార్లు భోజనం, రెండుసార్లు చిరుతిండ్లను తక్కువ మోతాదుల్లో తినటం మంచిదని సూచిస్తున్నారు పరిశోధకులు. అలాగే బరువు తగ్గాలనుకునే వారు పీచు అధికంగా ఉండే ఆహారం తీసుకున్నట్లయితే ఆహారంలో ఉండే పీచు జీర్ణ ప్రక్రియ నెమ్మదిగా జరిగేలా చేస్తుంది. దాని వలన చాలాసేపు కడుపు నిండుగా ఉంటుంది. అందుకే భోజనం చేసిన ప్రతిసారి 5 గ్రాముల పీచు ఉండేలా చూసుకోవాలని సూచిస్తున్నారు పోషకాహార నిపుణలు. 3) పొట్టుతో సహా ఏవైనా చిరుధాన్యల్ని ఒక కప్పు అయినా తప్పనిసరిగా తినాలిట. అలాగే ఒక కప్పుడు గింజ ధాన్యాల్ని తీసుకోవాలి. దీని వలన సుమారు 5 గ్రాముల పీచు పదార్ధం లభిస్తుంది. కాబట్టి వీటిని ఉదయం టిఫిన్  తినటానికి ముందు తినటం మంచిది. ఇక అపిల్, నారింజ, అరటిపండు, అలాగే జామలలో ఏదో ఒకటి. వేరుశనగ ఓ గుప్పెడు, అలాగే చెక్కు తీసాక ఒక క్యారెట్, అలాగే చెక్కు తీయని ఒక కీర వంటివి మధ్యాహ్నం ఆహారంలో చేర్చాలి. భోజనానికి ముందు క్యారెట్, కీరా భోజనం తర్వాత పండు, తింటే సుమారు 4 గ్రాముల దాకా పీచుపదార్ధం లభించినట్టే. ఇక  ముడిబియ్యం అన్నంలో కూడా పీచుపదార్థం లభిస్తుంది. కాబట్టి తినగలిగే వాళ్ళు ముడిబియ్యం అన్నం తినటం మంచిదని సూచిస్తున్నారు పోషకాహార నిపుణులు. 4) ఆకుకూరలలో ఇనుము సమృద్ధిగా లభిస్తుందని మనందరికి తెలుసు. ప్రపంచం మొత్తం మీద  'రక్త హీనత'  భారతీయ స్త్రీలలోనే చాలా ఎక్కువ అని ఇటీవలి పరిశోధనలు చెబుతున్నాయి. "ఇనుము"  లోపం దీనికి ప్రధాన కారణం. ముఖ్యంగా యుక్తవయుసు అడపిల్లలో 60% మంది రక్తహీనతతో బాధపడుతున్నారు. అయితే ఈ విషయాన్ని సమస్య తీవ్రమై ఇతర దుష్పభావాలు జరిగే దాకా గుర్తించటం లేదుట ఎవరూ. రోజూ ఆకుకూరలు తీసుకుంటే చాలా వరుకు ఈ "ఇనుము" లోపాన్ని అధికమించవచ్చు. కాని 'జంక్ పుడ్' కి అలవాటు పడిన యువత సాంప్రదాయక ఆహారానికి క్రమంగా దూరమయ్యి వివిధ రుగ్మతలని కోరి తెచ్చుకుంటున్నారని అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు నిపుణులు. ఆకుకురలని వండే విధానంలో కూడా తగిన జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోక పోతే వాటిని తినికుడా ఉపయోగం లేదు. ఎందుకంటే ఆకుకూరలని రెండు నిమిషాలు కంటే ఎక్కువ సేపు మంటపై ఉంచితే వాటిలోని పోషక విలువలు పోతాయి. కాబట్టి ఆకుకూరలని ఉండే విధానంలో కూడా జాగ్రత్త తీసుకోవాలి. -రమ

  అమ్మాయిలు అందాల మొలకలు అవ్వాలంటే... టీనేజ్ అమ్మాయిల దృష్టంతా ఎప్పుడూ బరువు పెరగకుండా వుండటం మీదే వుంటుంది. దానికోసం ఎవరు ఏం చెప్పినా, పాటిస్తూ వుంటారు. కొందరయితే భోజనం మానేయటం వంటివి చేస్తుంటారు. అయితే బరువు పెరగకుండా వుండాలనుకోవటం మంచిదే, అయితే అదే సమయంలో శరీరానికి కావలసిన పోషకాలు సమృద్ధిగా అందేలా కూడా చూసుకోవాలి. లేదంటే శారీరక అనారోగ్యంతో పాటు, ముఖ కాంతి కూడా తగ్గిపోతుంది. అంటే సరైన ఆహారం తీసుకోకపోతే అందం మీద కూడా ఆ ప్రభావం పడుతుంది. కాబట్టి విటమిన్లు, ఖనిజాలు, లవణాలు, ప్రోటీన్లు ఇతర ఎంజైములు శరీరానికి చక్కగా అందేలా చూస్తే అందం, ఆరోగ్యం కూడా సొంతం అవుతాయి. మరి అవన్నీ అందాలంటే ఏం చేయాలి అంటే... రోజూ ఓ గుప్పెడు మొలకెత్తిన గింజలు తినటమే. వీటినుంచి పుష్కలంగా లభించే మాంసకృత్తులు అత్యంత సురక్షితమయినవి. వీటిలో కొవ్వుశాతం తక్కువ, పీచు పదార్దం ఎక్కువ. కొలస్ట్రాల్ అన్న మాటే ఉండదు. కాబట్టి బరువు పెరగకుండా ఉండాలన్నా, బరువు తగ్గాలన్నా ఇవి తప్పక తీసుకోవాలి రోజు. అంతే కాదు వీటిని తప్పక తినాలని చెప్పటంలో ఇంకా చాలా ప్రయోజనాలు దాగున్నాయి. ఈ  గింజలకి ఇంత ప్రాధాన్యం ఎందుకూ అంటే మొలకెత్తే సమయంలో వీటిలో క్లోరోఫిల్ శాతం పెరుగుతుంది. ఇది రక్తహీనత తగ్గించటంలో సహాయపడుతుంది. అలాగే ఇవి మొలకెత్తే సమయంలో వీటిలో విటమిన్లు, పీచుపదార్ధాల శాతం చాలా పెరుగుతుంది. పైగా ఏవి సులువుగా జీర్ణం అవుతాయి, మనం తిన్న ఆహరం జీర్ణం అయ్యేలా చేస్తాయి. ఇంతకీ ఏవేవి తినాలి అంటే... గోధుమ, రాగి వంటి తృణ ధాన్యాలు, పెసలు, శెనగలు, బఠాణి, రాజ్మా, సోయాబీన్స్, వంటి చిక్కుడు జాతి గింజలు, తినటం మంచిది. అలా అని ఎక్కువగా కూడా తినకూడదు. టేనేజర్లు అరకప్పు మొలకెత్తిన ధాన్యాలను తింటే సరిపోతుంది. అది బ్రేక్ఫాస్ట్, లంచ్, డిన్నర్ లలో ఎప్పుడయినా తినచ్చు. వీటిని నేరుగా తినటం, లేదా పొడి చేసుకుని సూపు లో కలుపుకోవటం, జావగా చేసుకోవటం, లేదా రోటి పిండి లో, దోశల పిండిలో కలపటం వంటివి కూడా చేయవచ్చు. ఆరోగ్యం, అందం రెండింటి ని కాపాడు కుంటూ బరువు తగ్గాలి అనుకుంటే ఈ మొలకెత్తిన గింజలు తినటం మొదలు పెట్టండి. -రమ
