Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75, due to cardiac arrest at his Goa residence. Entire Indian film fraternity is grieving for the loss of such a legendary actor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jr. NTR and AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan have expressed their condolences over the demise of the great actor. 

Jr. NTR wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Nana Patekar sir, one of Indian cinema’s finest actors. There was an unmistakable honesty and intensity in every character he portrayed. His performances never felt like acting, but life unfolding on screen. A remarkable artist whose contribution to Indian cinema will be remembered for generations. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti." 

Pawan Kalyan wrote, "I am deeply saddened to hear about the sudden demise of renowned actor Shri Nana Patekar. I pray to God that his soul may rest in peace. Nana Patekar was an actor who could effortlessly immerse himself in any role. His performance in Krantiveer remains unforgettable. Films such as Parinda, Khamoshi, Tirangaa, Agni Sakshi, Natsamrat, Ab Tak Chhappan, and Apaharan stand among the many highlights of his illustrious acting career. He also rendered distinguished service to the Indian Army. My deepest condolences to Shri Nana Patekar’s family and loved ones during this difficult time." 

Prime Minister Modi specially acknowledged Nana's contribution to Indian Cinema, he said, "Few actors possessed the intensity, individuality and unmistakable presence that Shri Nana Patekar Ji had. He brought remarkable versatility and creativity to every role and gave us characters that will be remembered for generations. He was also admired for his frank and forthright views, never hesitating to express what he believed in. Shri Nana Patekar’s contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema was immense. His passing leaves a deep void. My condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. Om Shanti." 

Nana Patekar family will perform last rites of the actor today evening and many Bollywood celebrities are expected to attend the funeral.
