Oct 12, 2026 4:15PM

Sree Vishnu’s Comrade Kalyan has grossed over Rs. 19.8 crore worldwide in its first weekend, emerging as a major box office success. The film witnessed strong growth from Day 1 to Day 3, with steady advance bookings for Monday indicating that its theatrical run is continuing beyond the opening weekend.

Directed by Janakiram Marella and presented by Kona Venkat, the entertainer is set in the early 1990s along the Andhra-Odisha border. It follows an innocent village theatre operator caught in a political manhunt against a Naxal backdrop. The film’s combination of comedy and tense situations has struck a chord with audiences, particularly families.

Sree Vishnu’s trademark comic timing, one-liners and energetic performance have been central to the film’s reception. Positive word of mouth from the opening shows helped the film gain momentum, with Days 2 and 3 registering substantial growth in audience turnout across regions.

Produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati, Comrade Kalyan has emerged as a strong festive-season choice for moviegoers. The steady Monday advance bookings have further raised expectations for its weekday performance, with the film aiming to sustain its momentum through the Diwali holiday period.
