Ingredients:

Beyyam Pindi or Rice Flour

Pesar Pappu or Green Gram

Bellam or Jaggery

Neyyi or Ghee

Elachi

Salt to taste

Method:

Take a pan add water and heat it ( 2 cup water for 2 cup rice flour – rice flour and water in equal proportion). Also add vey less salt and also 1 spoon ghee. Let water come to a boil. Once the water boils – add the rice flour slowly and stir well. Cover the mixture with lid and keep it aside.

After a while take the dough – mash well with palms and make small balls and keep aside.

Pappula Undrallu:

Now in another pan add 1 cup of pesar pappu & also add 2 cups of water & let it boil. Check in between and keep stirring and let it boil till the pappu becomes soft. Once the pesar pappu becomes soft add a few rice flour balls or undrallu to the pan and stir carefully. In another pan add the jaggery and little water and boil till it becomes proper liquid consistency. (Filter it to remove impurities) Now add the jaggery water in the pesar pappu pan & let them boil for a few minutes. Pappula Undrallu Ready to be served.

Bellam Undrallu:

In another pan add the jaggery and little water and boil till it becomes proper liquid consistency. (Filter it to remove impurities)Add a few rice flour balls or undrallu to the pan and stir carefully. Since the consistency of the jaggery solution is liquid – it will be inconvenient for us to eat. So make a mixture of water and rice flour (2 spoons rice flour and little water) and mix well. Now add this mixture to the boiling jaggery syrup. Let them all boil for a minute and then ready to be served.

Plain Undrallu:

Now keep the remaining rice flour balls in the idli plate and let it steam of about 5 10 mins. And then plain undrallu ready to be served.
