In the last phase of UP elections - 2012 on Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh Police carried out a raid on actress-turned-politician Jayaprada when she was staying at a hotel in Rampur. The police claimed it was a routine check to see whether she and others like her had illegally stocked up cash.
The former actress, however, said all the complaints against her were fake. "These are fake complaints against me. The police came yesterday also. I am not fighting elections. I don't know why the police is raiding against me. Why are they not going in Azam Khan's house. They are thinking that I am alone and they can take political benefit by imposing fake allegations on me. Amar Singh is with me. People are with me. Last time also (during 2009 elections), they did this. I know who is doing this conspiracy against me. Police is following the directions given by Azam Khan," she added.
Jaya Prada told that they are not respecting her family and her. She had already registered a complaint with the Election Commission against them. "I cannot tolerate this. If they find anything then I won't object for investigation against me. I don't know why they are doing this conspiracy against me. Amar Singh has left Rampur according to protocol of elections. We will reply them harshly. Why is the police not raiding Azam Khan's house?, " she lamented.
