Former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh has described Rahul Gandhi as a Sanjeevani (miracle medicine) for the Congress Party. He said “I am sure Rahul Gandhi will take charge of the party in this year itself and will lead it to success.”
Actually, while Rahul Gandhi was away on two months leave, then Jairam Ramesh has stated that Rahul Gandhi has to prove his leadership abilities. He also admitted that Rahul Gandhi has difference of opinion with party senior leaders and even with his mother Sonia Gandhi. But, he said the differences were due to generation gap and not any serious ones. But, now Jairam Ramesh is describing Rahul as Sanjeevani of the Congress party. If he is so sure about him then why did he suspects his leadership abilities in his absence?
It is not a big secret that some senior leaders in the party high command are supporting Sonia Gandhi and some Rahul Gandhi. He returned home only after getting assurance from his mother Sonia Gandhi or her representative that he will be made party president. If so, questioning his leadership qualities would cost any Congress leader including Jairam Ramesh very dearly. Hence, he also seems to be fall in line and praising Rahul Gandhi.
